I remember watching this Japanese sci-fi anime, Appleseed on DVD. It was an interesting movie with robots and a utopian society. It's about bioroids that cannot re-produced or have children. And, the lady soldier, Deunan, who is actually the daughter of the scientist that can save them.
You can read it all up on Wikipedia or just watch the movie. It can be considered an old anime movie and there is actually an expansion of the story. Check out, Appleseed Alpha
