Nintendo Switch VS Gaming Phone - Best Portable Gaming Console?

Nintendo Switch with Gray Joy‑Con - HAC-001(-01)

Hey guys,

Check it out!

In 2017, I decided to get myself the Nintendo Switch and game on it for almost 3 years. I loved the ability to docked to play on my Tv or on handheld mode. Admittedly, I game more on handheld mode than on the big screen Tv.

Recently, I've sold it to my nephew and got myself the Switch lite. I must say, I seem to like the switch lite more than the Nintendo Switch. I still wish that I could dock my switch lite to the Tv but, that's something I hope, Nintendo would think of adding in the future.

Nintendo Switch Lite - Zacian and Zamazenta Edition

I actually got myself the Zacian & Zamazenta edition switch lite. And, I simply love it. I love the design at the back, although, I wish there was something in front too. Instead, it's just plain grey. At least, the analog stick and buttons have nice cool blue and dark pink color.

Samsung Galaxy Note 10+ Plus Factory Unlocked Cell Phone with 512GB (U.S. Warranty), Aura Black/ Note10+

Now, if you have been following my blog, you would have known that I've bought the Samsung Note 10+. In fact, I sold my S10+ to get it. I love both of these phones. They were great for gaming, taking pictures, checking emails, listening to music, watching youtube, movies and you can even turn it into your main computer.

One thing, I hate though is not the phones but the quality of games available for it. Again, if you had been following my blog, I actually bought the Razer gaming phone. I love the design, it felt solid in the hand and it actually reminds me of the Blackberry phone.

Oh, I've also owned the iPhone. My last iPhone was iPhone 8+. Okay, what's exactly is my point? My point is, as good as the phones were, one thing I hate is the type of game available for it. There are many gaming phones available but there aren't any real triple AAA games available for it!?

I'm not interested in all that streaming stuff. I want a real, full game that you can play on the handheld mode by either mirroring your phone or using Samsung Dex desktop UI. Today's phone is definitely much more powerful, especially with 5G technology.

Why do mobile games suck? Worst of all and it's one of my pet peeves is that most of the games are not controller support right out the box. Games like Fortnite, Pubg, or even Call of Duty mobile didn't have controller support when they first came out. Why?

It's one thing not being able to use a controller but you even have to buy an app to connect or remap the buttons. Which is kind of stupid? Since the first iPhone came out, the gamer has been wanting to play an FPS game with a controller. And, guess what? Decades later, we still have to complain about it.

Right now, I'm giving the WIN to Nintendo. For the Nintendo Switch and the Switch lite. I'll say if you like portable gaming and thinking of buying either a gaming phone or a Nintendo switch, get them. If like me, you prefer gaming solo on handheld mode, get the switch lite.

Furthermore, the switch lite is much much cheaper than a gaming phone. Plus, the games are way better than the mobile version. And, you don't have to look around to add a controller. If you crave some mobile games that are actually good, there are some already ported to the switch.

Granted, you still need a phone for doing 'phone stuff'. Well, there are many cheap phones available. Although my Note 10+ is pretty expensive one of the features I like is being able to use Samsung Dex. There also used to be Linux on Dex available but Samsung scraps that. Which is a shame?

Don't get me wrong, I'm not stopping you to get a gaming phone if you so desired. But, if you're looking for a portable gaming console and want to play great games, then Nintendo Switch is the way to go. You can choose to read up on gamer complaints of the lack of controller support on Google playstore. It's a never-ending battle.

I'll stick with my Switch lite, thank you!
