Powkiddy X18 Android Handheld Game console unboxing!

GPD XD Plus [Official distributor, Latest HW & Most Stable Update] Foldable Handheld Game Consoles 5" Touchscreen, Android 7.0 Fast Mediatek MT8176 Hexa-core 2.1GHz CPU, 4GB RAM/32GB ROM

Hey guys,

Check it out!

I finally received my Powkiddy X18, Android portable gaming console that I ordered last week or so. Been messing around with it and there's bittersweet to the product. First off, the Android OS 7.0 is not the latest and it doesn't support the Google Play store. Which, kinda sucks.

Since it doesn't support the Play store, you'll have to go to sites like Aptoide and Apkpure.com to download apps and games. Some of them still need Google service. I've been downloading and deleting mostly games that can't run. But, some of my favorite like Ailment, works!

GPD XD Plus [Official distributor, Latest HW & Most Stable Update] Foldable Handheld Game Consoles 5" Touchscreen, Android 7.0 Fast Mediatek MT8176 Hexa-core 2.1GHz CPU, 4GB RAM/32GB ROM

  • Support wi-fi wireless networking, playing games, listening to music, watching the video, and shopping
  • Battery life lasts up to 8 hours when playing games. 5-inch touch screen, foldable and portable.
  • Support Android Gravity and Touch games. Android7.0 OS, Support Google Store
  • 4GB DDR3 RAM and 32GB eMMC ROM
  • MT8176 CPU, More Intelligent. Size cores design, dual-core A72, the base frequency can reach 2.1Ghz. Quad-core A53--base frequency 1.7 GHz.Allocating work intelligently, avoid single-core overheat. All the Hexa cores run when playing big games, make sure games running smoothly.
You might be wondering, why I'm promoting GPD XD Plus here then? It's because the specs are better. It has more rams and eMMC rom. Mine Powkiddy only has 2GB ram and surprisingly eMMC 24GB. I thought, I ordered the 16GB but the added storage is welcome.

SanDisk 256GB Ultra microSDXC UHS-I Memory Card with Adapter - 100MB/s, C10, U1, Full HD, A1, Micro SD Card - SDSQUAR-256G-GN6MA

The Powkiddy X18 is also cheaper because of that. And, even with a minimum of specs which is actually the same as most cheap Android tablets out there, it's surprisingly pretty good. I open up multiple apps and games and it still runs smoothly.

If only it's as powerful as my Samsung Note 10+. Of course, the added plus of the Powkiddy and GPD android game console is that it has an integrated controller. I'm not sure bout the GPD XD Plus but there's a dedicated 'G' button for remapping buttons. Pretty nifty!

GPD Win Max [512GB SSD Storage] Mini Handheld Windows 10 Video Game Console Gameplayer 8 Inch 1280 × 800 Touch Screen Laptop Notebook UMPC Tablet PC CPU Intel i5-1035G7 16GB RAM

The Powkiddy X18 and GPD XD Plus is at the low-end portable gaming console. My ultimate portable gaming console will be the GPD Win Max. It's the ultimate combination of a gaming console and a laptop with an integrated controller.

On the X18, I can play (selected) games, surf the net, check my social media and even use it for work. Which sadly, I can't do it on my current favorite gaming console the Nintendo Switch lite. Well, you can't have it all, or can you?

Perixx Periduo-712B Wireless Mini Keyboard and Mouse Set, Black, US English Layout

Of course, it all also depends on your budget. That's where android gaming consoles like the Powkiddy X18 and GPD XD Plus comes in. By the way, the X18 OS is a little buggy at first but once I deleted and change apps like Aptoide to Apkpure or Firefox instead of Chrome it all runs smoothly now.

It's a budget system and not everything is perfect, but for what it is and after you mess around with apps and games that work, you'll enjoy it more. Even if some of the apps like Spotify don't work, just use the browser version. It's also a retro gaming haven. I'm definitely enjoying it!

I'm going back to checking out more games and apps after I'm done with this posting. Especially, those games that can be played offline. It'll be cool if they come with a 4G or 5G version. You can actually use Whatsapp on the device but you'll need an existing phone line.

If the system has a front camera, you can even do video-calling. I have an extra sim card that I seldom use. It'll be cool to chat using my X18. God damn, I have so many ideas. If only these manufacturers would send me their products for review, I'll tell them what I want. Lol!

Nintendo Switch lite - Monster Hunter Rise demo gameplay

Monster Hunter Rise - Nintendo Switch

Hey guys,

Quick promo!

I downloaded the Monster Hunter Rise demo a couple of days ago. But, only decided to try out the game today. I've bought and played Monster Hunter Generations on my then-original Nintendo Switch. Although, I haven't played it for a while now.

Playing the game on my Nintendo Switch lite is pretty smooth. And, the graphics really look sharp and great. Mind you the lite screen is pretty small but it doesn't really matter. In fact, after a while, I really like it. I'm definitely going to get it when it's out.

Monster Hunter Rise - Nintendo Switch

  • The debut of the new “wirebug” mechanic allows for wire-based grappling actions that can be used to scale cliffs and other hard-to-reach areas, providing new traversal and aerial attack options.
  • The game will introduce magnamalo, a menacing new flagship monster, as well as other new monsters like the shape-shifting aknosom, the amphibious tetranadon, and more.
  • New hunting partners called palamutes can be personalized and used to ride across the terrain, providing players with all-new traveling and attack options.
  • In addition to the plethora of solo and multiplayer quests, the immersive story mode will task aspiring hunters with discovering the secrets behind the puzzling “rampage” events that threaten kamura village.
  • Play solo, or join up to three other hunters in local or online co-op play. The Nintendo Switch system also allows for hunting anywhere, anytime, and with anyone!
At the moment, I've tried out two characters with their own weapons and design. So far, I haven't found one that suits my playing style. Holding big weapons makes your movement kinda slow. But, there are ways to move faster.

During the battle, I keep forgetting to check my health and also to use the new feature "wirebug". You can use it to get closer to your enemy or to climb high up the hills or whatever. I haven't tried it out yet. I've only tried out the first 'easy' mission that I couldn't finish.

Nintendo Switch Lite - Gray

One thing about the demo game is that it seems like the full game. I like that I can immediately start to go hunting. I guess that's the core of the game. Finding a monster and killing it. But, it's not easy. The damn monster doesn't die easily.

In the full game, there's a story mode. I like playing RPG games with interesting stories. Love to explore the open world too. It's like being lost in your own world. I don't really like multiplayer as I'm only interested in enjoying the game the way I want to without being pestered.

Anyway, get the game if you're interested and download the demo from the Nintendo eShop to try out the game yourself. Definitely worth it. Also, to play such a huge game on the go is pretty cool. Especially, on a small handheld like the Nintendo Switch lite!

GPD XD Plus Android Foldable Handheld Game Console

GPD XD Plus [Official distributor, Latest HW & Most Stable Update] Foldable Handheld Game Consoles 5" Touchscreen, Android 7.0 Fast Mediatek MT8176 Hexa-core 2.1GHz CPU, 4GB RAM/32GB ROM

Hey guys,

Quick promo!

I told you guys that I was waiting for my Android 10.0 OS 10.1 Inch tablet with keyboard to arrive but, it seems to disappear to nowhere. Luckily, I managed to cancel the order and the seller accepted it without any problem.

I was definitely disappointed as I was planning to test how good it is as a laptop replacement. Frankly, looking at the specs, it seems too good to be true. It offers 10GB RAM and 512GB rom for storage all just for $200+?

GPD XD Plus [Official distributor, Latest HW & Most Stable Update] Foldable Handheld Game Consoles 5" Touchscreen, Android 7.0 Fast Mediatek MT8176 Hexa-core 2.1GHz CPU, 4GB RAM/32GB ROM

I look around if there's any other tablet offer that interests me but to no avail. Today, while browsing through the products, I saw the GPD XD Plus. I've seen this before as it's part of the GPD line of product offers. But, I wasn't really interested.

I'm not interested in Android gaming and also I already have tons of retro gaming consoles. But, then I thought, hey, can I install Termux (wiki) and then Ubuntu Linux on it via Andronix? If the GPD+ has Bluetooth, maybe I can pair and use a keyboard and mouse too.

SanDisk 128GB Ultra microSDXC UHS-I Memory Card with Adapter - 100MB/s, C10, U1, Full HD, A1, Micro SD Card - SDSQUAR-128G-GN6MA

Again, I can use this Android gaming console like a laptop. If only they had better specs. Also, would be cool if they put another screen below or a touchpad. That'll be pretty useful to move around the menu and screen.

The screen is only 5 inch but you can link it to a Tv or an external monitor. So, you can use it on the go and also set it up at home like an entertainment system. You can listen to music, watch youtube, or social media. And I definitely can check my emails, unlike my Nintendo Switch lite.

The difference between the GPD XD Plus and GPD MicroPC is the price and the OS aka operating system. Like I've said before if you want something light, Android is the way to go. Of course, you can't play your collection of STEAM games.

If I want something that can play PC games, I'll go for the GPD WIN MAX. That'll be my ultimate mini gaming laptop on the go. The best thing is that it's also a laptop but with an integrated controller. You can use it for school or for work.

GPD Win Max [512GB SSD Storage] Mini Handheld Windows 10 Video Game Console Gameplayer 8 Inch 1280 × 800 Touch Screen Laptop Notebook UMPC Tablet PC CPU Intel i5-1035G7 16GB RAM

The GPD XD Plus will suffice for a cheap budget. I actually do like some Android games especially those that have controller support. I also have tons of retro games collections. I also like that I can watch youtube on it. Now, you can't watch youtube on a 3DS or PS Vita. Which kinda sucks.

I can also watch youtube on my Nintendo Switch lite but besides gaming, it's the only thing that I can do on it. I like a device that can do it all. Some may just want a gaming console but I find that very limiting. Also, I like to try out stuff if I could.

GPD Win 2 [256GB M.2 SSD Storage] Mini Handheld Windows 10 Video Game Console Gameplayer 6" Laptop Notebook Tablet PC CPU M3-8100Y intel HD Graphics 615 8GB/256GB

One guy (I'm assuming) commented on my youtube video that he likes that I always seem to think outside the box. While other so-called 'influencers' mostly promote products, I practically play with it and try out stuff on it like adding a keyboard and mouse which nobody seems to think of.

Like I've said before, I don't like limiting a product to just one way of using it. People nowadays multi-task. People just don't game on their device but as a complete entertainment and social media system. Granted, the cost might affect the final product.

I also see that product designing might be affected too. Like, adding a second screen or a camera for video calling. How bout using a USB c instead for power and connecting accessories? You can definitely improve the GPD XD Plus but will it increase the pricing?

Let's see if there's an evolution of the product!

Nintendo Switch lite - CRYSIS REMASTERED gameplay!

Nintendo Switch with Neon Blue and Neon Red Joy‑Con - HAC-001(-01)

Hey guys,

Check it out!

Whoa! It's been over a decade and finally, I can play Crysis (Amazon) on a handheld gaming console. Crysis Remastered (Nintendo Switch) is now available for download on Nintendo digital store. It's been a long time coming. And, I'm loving it!

If you're like me, bought the game Crysis for PC and gaming console, you'll know back then, you'll need to have a good CPU and GPU to play them. I bought an Alienware gaming laptop just to be able to play triple-A games.

Nintendo Switch with Neon Blue and Neon Red Joy‑Con - HAC-001(-01)

I bought the Alienware M14x gaming laptop just so I can play my favorite triple-A games on the go. I really wanted the M11x which is much smaller and 'portable'. But, by the time I had the money, a year has gone and they stop selling it.

As you can see, I've always been fascinated by the ability to play triple-A games on the go. Yeah, gaming on a big gaming monitor or Tv is great but technology really has to be advance and smaller before you can play games like Crysis on a smaller yet powerful device.

Nintendo Switch Lite - Gray

Frankly, when the Nintendo Switch first came out, I wasn't really impressed. But, when they announced that FIFA18 and Skyrim were coming, my nephew and I took notice. My nephew kept bugging me to get it because he was interested in playing FIFA18 on the go.

Yo! That was some big game to be able to play on a small portable gaming console. Everyone was wondering how good will it be on such a device. The next big game was DOOM. I had actually already bought the game via Steam. If I knew it will be coming, I'll rather buy the Switch version.

Keyboard and Mouse Adapter for Nintendo Switch, Keyboard and Mouse Adapter for PS4, Xbox One, PS3, Xbox 360

I actually just ordered myself a one-hand keyboard and mouse with an adapter for my Nintendo Switch. I'm not really sure if this will work, but that's basically what I do. I always like to try out tech that I can use to play my favorite games in various ways.

Would be really cool, if I can play games like Crysis on my Nintendo Switch with a mouse and keyboard. Some gamers like to play console games like they play a pc game. Of course, vice versa too. In fact, they'll play a mobile game if it has a controller or keyboard and mouse support.

Check out my Nintendo Switch lite photo of the game Crysis below:

Nobody would have thought you'll be able to play Crysis on a handheld gaming console!?

The game on scope mode.

Check out the beautiful scenery. This game is also a remastered version. The image is pretty sharp and beautiful even on a small 5.5-inch screen. In fact, it's noted because of the small screen size, image resolution is much better. Yes, the gameplay is as smooth as butter!

This makes me love my Nintendo Switch lite more!

Why I'm Not Getting the PS5 or Xbox Series X - Yet

Xbox Series X

Hey guys,

Check it out!

Have you checked out the few top YouTubers that got their hands on the Xbox Series X, S, and PS5, doing their unboxing videos? I must say, I'm a little jealous. Ok, I'm feeling envious and jealous! At the same time, I'm feeling, meh!

Yeah, it's all new and dandy with the latest specs. While Xbox Series X/S design is simple and kinda Zen, although, they could go for much smaller and slimmer. The PS5 is like something from the future. See that I said, "future". Because we're still not advance yet. In terms of technology and the way we live or do things.

Xbox Series X

  • Introducing Xbox Series X, the fastest, most powerful Xbox ever. Play thousands of titles from four generations of consoles-all games look and play best on Xbox Series X.
  • Experience next-gen speed and performance with the Xbox velocity architecture, powered by a custom SSD and integrated software.
  • Play thousands of games from four generations of Xbox with Backward compatibility, including optimized titles at launch.
  • Download and play over 100 high-quality games, including all-new Xbox Game Studios titles like Halo Infinite the day they release, with Xbox Game Pass ultimate (membership sold separately).
  • Xbox Smart delivery ensures you play the best available version of your game no matter which Console you're playing on.

Xbox Series S

  • Access your favorite entertainment through apps like YouTube, Netflix, and more
  • Enjoy over 100 games right out of the box with a 1 month Xbox Game Pass trial
  • Watch 4K Blu-ray movies and stream 4K video on Netflix, Amazon, Hulu, Microsoft Movies & TV, and more
  • Play with friends and family near and far—sitting together on the sofa or around the world on Xbox Live, the fastest, most reliable gaming network
  • Xbox One games and accessories work together

At the moment, I still have my Xbox One S Gear of War edition. I haven't been playing games on it for a couple of months now since my trial version of the Xbox Game Pass or was it Live Gold ended. This is part of the reason why I hate the gaming world today.

I also stop buying games when they have all these confusing versions of the games. You can buy games that include game pass or live gold. And, even if you have subscriptions, you still have to buy new games when they come out.

PlayStation 5 Console

  • Lightning Speed - Harness the power of a custom CPU, GPU, and SSD with Integrated I/O that rewrite the rules of what a PlayStation console can do.
  • Stunning Games - Marvel at incredible graphics and experience new PS5 features.
  • Breathtaking Immersion - Discover a deeper gaming experience with support for haptic feedback, adaptive triggers, and 3D Audio technology.
Of course, Sony Playstation has the same deal too. Makes you more confused about which one to choose. By the way, the PlayStation 5 also has a digital version. Most gamers today prefer buying games via the system online store.

Gone are the good old days when you go to your local game store to get the physical version. They'll sometimes have cool offers with posters or special editions. I don't see the point of buying a physical version if the only thing you're gonna get is the game disc or cartridge.

I'm not saying I dislike buying the digital version of the games. In fact, I bought so many games on the Nintendo Switch stores which are always having good deals. I'm running out of storage. Even though, I just bought a 512GB MicroSD card.

If you're wondering what does a Nintendo Switch have to do with the latest Xbox Series X/S and PS5? Well, I'm gaming more on it than I ever will with either the Xbox or Playstation. Well, my Playstation 3 died on me a couple of years back. That's why I'll probably get the PS5 later on, if ever.

Nintendo Switch Lite - Gray

Owning the Nintendo Switch lite right now, makes me realized, I'll be using it more than the Xbox X Series or a PS5. Simply because it is more accessible and flexible. Turning on both of the consoles is a hassle. I might turn it on once in a while to enjoy the advanced graphics and play games on the big screen Tv.

In the end, it really depends on your own preferential. Some like to sit down and enjoy playing their games for hours on their console. Some like me prefer playing on their handheld whenever and wherever we go. Especially, if you travel or move around a lot.

To play a console game, you need to set a time to play it. Playing on a portable console, you play anywhere and anytime you want. It's always with you. Just like playing mobile games. Only, the Nintendo Switch has 'real' games. Not games that need an internet connection or full of advertisements!

Yup, I'm not getting the PS5 or Xbox Series X, yet. But, I'll definitely get the latest Nintendo Switch if ever they're coming up with a more advanced version. Meanwhile, I'll enjoy playing games more on my portable game console. That's for sure!

Mario Kart Live vs Raspberry pi Smart Robot

Mario Kart Live: Home Circuit -Mario Set - Nintendo Switch Mario Set Edition

Hey guys,

Check it out!

So, the Nintendo Mario Kart live is available now. You can get it here (Amazon). Like, I've said in several posts ago, I've wanted this type of thing from Nintendo. It already has a screen and controllers. Would be fun to be able to connect toys to it.

Although, I was wishing being able to pair it with my Raspberry pi smart robot. I'm not sure if you can actually already do that after hacking your Switch. You can install Linux distro like Debian and use python to control your raspberry pi.

Mario Kart Live: Home Circuit -Mario Set - Nintendo Switch Mario Set Edition

I've always thought, the Nintendo Switch can be more than just a portable gaming console. It's great for education and being able to connect to a Raspberry pi smart robot will be way cool. Of course, Nintendo prefers making their own toys for people to buy.

I won't be surprised if Mario Drone is out next. Would be another added bonus to fly around your drone and being able to record views or like Mario Kart, racing with your friends. They can even do race events for both of them.

Nintendo Switch Lite - Turquoise

The difference between a Mario Kart live and Raspberry pi is that you can also use the Pi as a computer. You can buy parts for your smart robot or drone and learn to code with python. You can also learn coding with SmileBASIC 4 and FUZE 4 on your Nintendo Switch too.

Someone out there already able to transfer files using smilebasic 4 and creating an emulator. I was already wondering if you can use smilebasic 4 to somehow connect to your raspberry pi or Arduino. That would be way cool!

Freenove Robot Dog Kit for Raspberry Pi 4 B 3 B+ B A+, Walking, Self Balancing, Ball Tracing, Face Recognition, Live Video, Ultrasonic Ranging, Camera Servo Wireless RC

I was also hoping the 'makers' would come out with something that can be connected and use together with the Nintendo Switch. The Mario Kart live already proves that the Nintendo Switch can be used more than just a gaming console.

I'm surprised that they (the makers) didn't think of this. Or probably did. I wouldn't know what's going on behind closed doors. I'm just saying, or keep saying, how great the Switch is. I can imagine, someone hacking (a driverless car) using their Nintendo Switch and control it with the controllers. I'm not saying people should do it though.

Nintendo Switch with Gray Joy‑Con - HAC-001(-01)

I think what's so great about the Nintendo Switch is the design. Make for portability. Even then, to me, the Switch lite is more portable and flexible because it's around an inch smaller. Everyone has their own preferences of which one is better of course.

If you want to make a Windows 10, portable gaming console, follow this same design. You can even make a raspberry pi with a Linux distro portable computer. There are already many mobile phone Bluetooth controller that you can just fix on it.

One Netbook OneGx1 Handheld Windows 10 Video Game Console Portable Gameplayer 7 Inch 1920 × 1200 Mini Pocket Laptop Intel 10th CPU CoRE I5-10210Y Ultrabook UMPC Tablet PC + Controller (8GB/256GB+WiFi)

You might want to check out the windows 10, portable gaming console above. Which also comes with a controller. A little pricey. But, I hope, it'll become more powerful in the future. Maybe, using AMD Ryzen CPU & GPU.

The design isn't that bad, but the controller a little weird. I also don't like the mini laptop butt coming out at the back but that's for the cooling system. I like how the ram and storage can be much bigger. With STEAM installed, you can game and use it like any other normal computer.

In the future, portability is King!

Ok, maybe, when the computer is in-plant in you, portability will become another matter.
