Mario Kart Live vs Raspberry pi Smart Robot

Mario Kart Live: Home Circuit -Mario Set - Nintendo Switch Mario Set Edition

Hey guys,

Check it out!

So, the Nintendo Mario Kart live is available now. You can get it here (Amazon). Like, I've said in several posts ago, I've wanted this type of thing from Nintendo. It already has a screen and controllers. Would be fun to be able to connect toys to it.

Although, I was wishing being able to pair it with my Raspberry pi smart robot. I'm not sure if you can actually already do that after hacking your Switch. You can install Linux distro like Debian and use python to control your raspberry pi.

I've always thought, the Nintendo Switch can be more than just a portable gaming console. It's great for education and being able to connect to a Raspberry pi smart robot will be way cool. Of course, Nintendo prefers making their own toys for people to buy.

I won't be surprised if Mario Drone is out next. Would be another added bonus to fly around your drone and being able to record views or like Mario Kart, racing with your friends. They can even do race events for both of them.

The difference between a Mario Kart live and Raspberry pi is that you can also use the Pi as a computer. You can buy parts for your smart robot or drone and learn to code with python. You can also learn coding with SmileBASIC 4 and FUZE 4 on your Nintendo Switch too.

Someone out there already able to transfer files using smilebasic 4 and creating an emulator. I was already wondering if you can use smilebasic 4 to somehow connect to your raspberry pi or Arduino. That would be way cool!

I was also hoping the 'makers' would come out with something that can be connected and use together with the Nintendo Switch. The Mario Kart live already proves that the Nintendo Switch can be used more than just a gaming console.

I'm surprised that they (the makers) didn't think of this. Or probably did. I wouldn't know what's going on behind closed doors. I'm just saying, or keep saying, how great the Switch is. I can imagine, someone hacking (a driverless car) using their Nintendo Switch and control it with the controllers. I'm not saying people should do it though.

I think what's so great about the Nintendo Switch is the design. Make for portability. Even then, to me, the Switch lite is more portable and flexible because it's around an inch smaller. Everyone has their own preferences of which one is better of course.

If you want to make a Windows 10, portable gaming console, follow this same design. You can even make a raspberry pi with a Linux distro portable computer. There are already many mobile phone Bluetooth controller that you can just fix on it.

You might want to check out the windows 10, portable gaming console above. Which also comes with a controller. A little pricey. But, I hope, it'll become more powerful in the future. Maybe, using AMD Ryzen CPU & GPU.

The design isn't that bad, but the controller a little weird. I also don't like the mini laptop butt coming out at the back but that's for the cooling system. I like how the ram and storage can be much bigger. With STEAM installed, you can game and use it like any other normal computer.

In the future, portability is King!

Ok, maybe, when the computer is in-plant in you, portability will become another matter.

Adeept RaspArm-S STEM Robotic Arm Kit for Raspberry Pi

Adeept 5-DOF Robot Arm 5Axis Robotic Arm Kit Compatible with Arduino IDE | Programmable Robot DIY Coding Robot Kit | STEAM Robot Arm Kit with OLED Display | Processing Code and PDF

Hey guys,

Check it out!

If you have been reading my blog, I've been posting about Raspberry pi. I remember watching the news decades ago about a new small computer that they have made and I didn't really know what it's all about. It's only recently that I read about it that I got interested in.

One thing that got me excited was the ability to use the Raspberry pi to make a smart robot. I've always played around with Linux, at work, and the distro mini-computer that I bought decades ago. But, it's only now I learned that I can code and use the practical part of Python for robotics.

There's no feeling in trying to make something and it actually works. The good thing is that information is pretty easy to get online with just the Google search. It's true what they said, Google search is your friend in finding information.

I've already managed to make my own Raspberry pi robot. You can watch the video here. That's also how I discovered Python and how easy it is to use it to control your robots. Beside raspberry pi, I also played with Arduino. Which is a bit different from the Raspberry pi.

The Raspberry pi can also be use as a desktop computer or laptop. You can install any Linux distro on it with just the Micro SD card. I already bought a couple of Raspberry pi with one used as my retro gaming console. Another, for the robot and the last as a linux computer.

The fact that you can buy the Raspberry pi below $50 is pretty cheap and affordable as it's supposed to be for students to learn about robotics. Of course, if you're buying with kits or motors, the price can go up. But, it's still relatively cheap.

Assembling and playing with robot is fun. But, what really fun for me is being able to code and making a robot moves with it. That's where learning to code becomes interesting. As I'm just a hobbyist, I had to search and roam the internet for bits and pieces of codes.

Sometime, the code wouldn't work because it's not an updated version. That's what frustrates me. I'll then have to look for the latest that actually works. Why can't they remain the same or at least be compatible with how the code works in the past?

Learn Robotics Programming: Build and control autonomous robots using Raspberry Pi 3 and Python

Recently, Nintendo announced their new Mario Kart Live. I've actually talk about the Nintendo Switch
being used to control a Raspberry pi robot before on my blog. Wouldn't that be fun? And, now Nintendo have it in a form of a Mario Kart Live.

I wouldn't be surprise if there'll be Mario Drone or even a Mario robot. But, like I've said. It'll be more fun and educational if kids and even adults can learn to code with it. There are already lots of versions of graphical codes available, so it's not that hard to implement.

Nintendo has started something no other game console company has done. Turning, their games into something physical and tangible. It's more than a VR. It's something you can control and see moving in real life. And, you wonder why I love my Nintendo switch so much?

Hopefully, Nintendo will read this post, if not I can always gives them feedback, to turn their portable console into an educational platform for learning robotics. Yo, there's still no gundam robot and we already have a robot dog being sold right now!

Mario Kart Live Home Circuit - Mario Luigi Set

Mario Kart Live: Home Circuit -Mario Set - Nintendo Switch Mario Set Edition

Hey guys,

Check it out!

Nintendo finally created something that I know what the Nintendo Switch can be used for. Controlling a robot or a car. Would have been better instead of just a racing car, make kids and adults alike to learn coding to control the smart car or the smart robot. Just like what you can do with a raspberry pi or an Arduino.

I'm surprised, no maker has tried to make an adapter to be used with the Nintendo Switch. I mean, there is already a Bluetooth adapter for the switch. Which, you can use to connect to a headphone, a controller, and even a keyboard and mouse. I'm pretty sure they can come out with something so that people can use their Switch to control other devices.

Mario Kart Live: Home Circuit -Mario Set - Nintendo Switch Mario Set Edition

  • Control a real-life Mario Kart with Nintendo Switch and watch it come to life in the game!
  • Turn your home into a Mario Kart course of your design

Freenove 4WD Smart Car Kit for Raspberry Pi 4 B 3 B+ B A+, Face Tracking, Line Tracking, Light Tracing, Obstacle Avoidance, Colorful Light, Ultrasonic Camera Servo Wireless RC

You can already learn coding with software like SmileBASIC 4 and FUZE 4 which is already available on the Nintendo Switch. They might not be Python but, pretty close. Port it to the Switch and the Switch will be a great learning device. And not just for gaming. If you guys been reading my blog, you'll know about how I wanted this.

I like the idea of using the Nintendo Switch as a learning device. Not just for entertainment and gaming. With the ability to connect your mouse and keyboard, you can also use it as a computer. You can already dock your Nintendo Switch to a monitor. So, why not having educational apps for it? Where children can learn math or science or whatever.

Nintendo Switch Lite - Turquoise

One of the good things I see for the Mario Kart Live is that even the Nintendo Switch lite owner can play this. Switch lite owner can't play with Labo, because they can't take off the controller. So, at least this is something both the device owners can enjoy. I actually thought that a Mario drone might also be feasible in the future. Wouldn't that be cool?

For me, that is what's so great about the Nintendo Switch. It's a gaming console that you can dock and also play in a handheld mode. The PS5 and Xbox series X might have the latest and the greatest CPU and GPU but the Nintendo Switch is more than just a gaming console. For those that don't like to stay indoors or having to move a lot, for work or for play, the Nintendo Switch is Godsend.

Apitor SuperBot, Educational Building Block 18 in 1 Robot Kit, STEM Coding Learning Toy, APP Remote Control, Ideal Gift for Kids 8+, Compatible with Major Building Block Brands (400+ Pieces)

If you have STEM coding learning toys like the above for the Nintendo Switch that will be really cool. This is basically what I'm talking about. A great learning tool to be paired with the Nintendo Switch. Especially, since the Nintendo Switch already comes with a controller. You can already create your own game with SmileBASIC 4 and the control codes are easily available.

Another thing is that Mario Kart Live also comes with a camera on the car that you can view on your Nintendo Switch screen. It's practically great for a drone too. The irony is that the switch doesn't have a camera like the Nintendo 3DS but, you can use the camera on adapter device and take pictures or videos. Let me see, how bout using that as a security camera too?

I'm wondering if Nintendo is actually using the Arduino or Raspberry pi inside the Mario Kart Live car. There are so many possibilities with it. Just like what you can do with a raspberry pi or Arduino. Makers should definitely take advantage of this capability. Although, I'm not sure about the type of coding software allowed for the Nintendo Switch.

Anyway, things are getting pretty interesting with the Nintendo Switch. I hope, the more educational program will be available for it and also let's see Mario Drone next with the ability to take pictures and videos!

(Matrix)Trinity has contacted me on my Nintendo switch lite #matrix #trinity #nintendo #nintendoswitch #switchlite

Nintendo Switch with Neon Blue and Neon Red Joy‑Con - HAC-001(-01)

Hey guys,

Check it out!

Yesterday, as usual, I was playing with my Nintendo Switch Lite and decided to open up SmileBASIC 4 to play with some codes. If you didn't know, smilebasic 4 and Python are almost the same. Smilebasic is a much easier and shorter code to write. In fact, if I learned something new about Python, I'll also try it out on smilebasic. Pretty cool.

One thing I like about smilebasic 4 is that it also has a terminal. I love playing in the terminal. Although you can't connect to the outside world. You can do simple things like the basic "hello world". You can perform calculations, change a font color, play sound effects, and even background music. You can also call out sprites right on the terminal.

While doing some basic looping coding, I remembered the Matrix movie where the message "Neo" appeared on his computer terminal. It'll be fun to do that on my Switch Lite terminal. Play it as if they set a meeting for me to meet Trinity. And, I can easily do it with smilebasic 4. There's basically no other way you can do it.

People don't realize what they can do with a Nintendo Switch and learning to code with SmileBASIC 4. There's another game coding program called FUZE 4. Both of these programs are great for learning to code and creating your own games. I want people to know that the switch is not just for gaming!

Nintendo Switch Lite - Coral - Switch

The Nintendo Switch is already a great portable gaming console. It already has a good screen and controller. People, especially kids, can learn coding on it and even program their own games. It would be fun and educational. SmileBASIC 4 and FUZE 4 both have keyboard support. Since you need to type a lot when coding.

The ability to use a keyboard and mouse should be right out of the box for the Nintendo Switch. You can already dock your Switch to a big screen TV or a computer monitor. Some people play games on their TV and monitor, like a gaming PC. That's why Nintendo should do that. Smartphones today are as powerful as a pc.

Mario Kart Live: Home Circuit -Mario Set - Nintendo Switch

I'm not sure if it was last year, but when Nintendo announced Labo, I was like, meh. I'm more interested in connecting it to a Raspberry Pi. Imagine being able to connect to a Raspberry Pi robot. Control it like a car or a robot. That would be way much cooler than the cardboards.

I could use something like the SmileBASIC 4 to code and control the robot. That would be way super-cool. Well, Nintendo just announced their Mario Kart Live, and I'm like, that's what I've been wanting from them. You can't code anything, but this is a good start. Next, they can do a Mario Drone. Now,  Arduino and Raspberry Pi makers should find a way to bank on this.

Freenove Robot Dog Kit for Raspberry Pi 4 B 3 B+ B A+, Walking, Self Balancing, Ball Tracing, Face Recognition, Live Video, Ultrasonic Ranging, Camera Servo Wireless RC

There are already almost 60 million-plus Nintendo Switches sold. There's a ready market for makers to take advantage of. You need to work out something with Nintendo. I will give feedback to Nintendo and open up their systems for educational purposes. I would like to play the Linux terminal on my Switch Lite, one day.

Yes, I know, you can already hack it, but I'm not interested in having to solder my switch lite. I suck at soldering. Also, I don't want to brick my system and be banned from my Online gaming. Anyway, doing things the legal way will support more devs and probably makers (in the future). That's why I buy games and support instead of paying the counterfeiters, which I used to do.

Hey, everyone else needs to eat too!
