Sony Cyber-shot DSC-HX400 Digital Camera (Black) with 16GB Accessory Bundle
Hey guys,
Check it out!
My bro-in-law just gave me an old Sony Cyber-shot DSCH50 9.1 MP Digital Camera with 15x Optical Zoom with Super Steady Shot. I search around and found out this came out in 2008. Whoa, that's a pretty long time ago!
Actually, my bro-in-law got it from his younger brother. He's not interested in photography, so he decided to give it to me. I was pretty excited as it still looks in a pretty good condition. Well, the outside. The lens needs to be clean from the inside and there's a whirring sound after a while of usage.

The good thing is that it has a 32MB Sony Memory Stick Duo inside and two batteries. The original seems to have a problem re-charging. I know 32MB is pretty small. I'm only able to take a few pictures and at least one short video.
The camera even has a night shot, which is kinda cool. I dig through my old stuff and managed to find an old card reader that's compatible with my current PC USB. That means I can transfer and saved the video and pictures from the memory stick.

I'm pretty much a newbie and have never owned a digital camera before. I've always wanted one though. I'm interested in taking moon pictures and videos. So, I've been aiming to get the Nikon Coolpix P900 or P1000.
I read yesterday that there might be a P1100. Hopefully, it'll offer much better and sharper moon pictures. People also seem to complain about the quality of the pictures in low light or when taking normal pictures. Personally, I hope for an all-rounder. For the amount of money, you expect it to do everything right?

Anyway, since I've now got the camera, I can use it for practice. The Sony Cybershot itself is not a bad camera. I actually really like it. It's not that heavy and fits right in my small hands. The buttons to access the features on the right (right-hander) are easy to reach and learn.
Even a newbie like me can quickly learn how to use the camera. Okay, I mostly set everything on Auto. I'm kinda lazy to fiddle with the settings. I'm more interested in taking quick good photos or videos instead of having to dabble just to get that one good shot.

Nowadays, people are used to using their phones to take pictures and videos. It's quick and easy. You can take quick photos or videos and then upload them to social media instantly. That's why the camera maker today needs to catch up to that instant gratifications.
You need wifi or data connection ability. Maybe, some quick software editing on the camera itself. I'm a Youtuber, so I'm used to taking videos on my phone or iPad, edit them, putting background music or effects, and then upload. All done on my phone or iPad without the hassles of data transfer like the old days.
I managed to get these moon pictures yesterday using the Sony Cybershot. 9.1MP and around 25+ digital zoom (can't go any further on auto settings) and trying out some of the standard features for different shots.
I actually have a good view of the moon from my 4th-floor apartment kitchen and have tried using my Samsung Note 10+ camera to take the moon pictures but I won't get these kinds of pics. It'll only come out far and blur. That's why I want a good camera like the p1000 zooming capability.
If you watch some moon videos taken with a camera on youtube, there'll always be people who tell you to get a telescope. The thing is, you can also use a camera to take normal pictures and videos. A telescope is only meant for checking out the stars. Duh!

I like taking cool pictures and a good zooming camera that can take sharp pictures even way far out is pretty awesome to me. If you're a nature lover or who likes to travel the world, a good camera is of course a plus.
Heck, I don't even have to travel far out as I can take the moon pictures right from my kitchen and also beautiful, busy birds outside my house. I've been wanting to take pictures or videos of them and now, since I have a pretty good Sony Cybershot camera, I might just do that.
I need to clean the dirty lens and get a bigger memory stick duo storage first though.
