Fun with Kano Code on my 2 in 1 Windows 10 Tablet PC

Hey guys,

Check it out!

I specifically bought the 2 in 1 Windows 10 Tablet PC so that I can install Ubuntu over it. But, I found out that my old DVD writer is using USB 2.0 and not compatible with the tablet pc. Which has a USB 3.0. I need to find someone that can borrow me the latest external CD/DVD read/writer.

I also discovered that I can't install WSL aka Windows Subsystem for Linux on it. Damn it. But, using Samsung Dex or Microsoft Your Phone app, I can use Termux or Ubuntu that's available on my phone tablet. At least, I got a bigger screen and keyboard.

As I've talked about it in yesterday's post, I'm really surprised how well everything is running. My tablet PC only has 2GB ram and 64GB storage but, in spite of some games or apps which load pretty slow, they run without any problem.

Ok, there are hiccups here and there like now I discovered whenever I press the key, CAPS, the keyboard starts gibberish. I have to unlock the tablet from the keyboard and dock it again. Seems to be a permanent problem. Such a waste, I really like the design with the handle.

Well, I can always use it with other Bluetooth or USB keyboards. Although, there's only one USB port on the tablet. I can actually charge the tablet via the keyboard and it also has a USB port. It has a single USB port that you can use with the USB mouse. Pretty nifty.

That's why it's such a shame there's a problem with the CAPS key. Well, at least I can still install and play with Python coding or with my favorite Kano Code. I used to play with Kano OS on my raspberry pi 3. It's actually for kids but it's great for beginner adults too.

I like playing with the Kano code to create games, music, and whatever you can think of. It's actually the same as SCRATCH. I even have a scratch account with MIT. I created a few games with scratch and you can even play or edit the code. Pretty cool. Check it out here!

The Kano code loads a little slow on my tablet PC and the first time around when I tried adding music sequence it won't work. It works only after I reload the program. It might because I can only hear in my right ear but the speaker isn't loud enough for me, too.

I like the fact how cheap these Windows 10 Tablet PC are. It's not a gaming tablet or powerful laptop but if you just want something for casual usage, it's not that bad. Also, a 2 in 1 is actually great especially if you like coloring or drawing games.

I bought a 7 inch Windows 10 tablet once. Decades ago. I think it's from Lenovo. It's pretty slim like an Android tablet but it lags and in the end, the touch screen doesn't work anymore. So, I had a pretty bad experience. That makes me more surprised that this tablet PC is so much better.

I'm wondering if I can upgrade the 2GB Ram and even the 64GB Rom. I saw the system showing it's an SSD. So, I'm wondering if I can actually upgrade it too if I want to. Hopefully, it's not integrated with the motherboard. I need to figure out if I can open it up first.

I'll update my blog if I can upgrade the ram. I have 4GB ram from my previous laptop. Hehe!
