Hey guys,

Check it out!

I've always been interested in computers since I was a kid. The first time, I touch a computer was in a military show in the mid-80s. I think I went straight to the computer booth a second time with my family. I'm not sure but I think, the first time was with my school class.

Even though it was my first time, it felt natural. I forget all about it until after my Army stint and I got a job with a government department. That's where I get to learn to use the computer for work and for play. It was such a fun time working there.

I just remembered that we actually have computer class when I went to a technical school to learn automotive engineering. But, I didn't really learn anything as the teacher only let us play games. And, we had to share so, I didn't get to do much.

I've actually worked in an Apple factory before and back then, I was pretty impressed with the video capability. It was such a long time ago, I don't even remember what kind of Apple computer it was. Everything is a blur to me right now. One time I met an Apple fanboy that won't touch a PC. Now, that's hardcore. Lol.

The only interesting part of my life was when I get to own a computer. That was when I really dabbled with everything that I need to know about it. I remember having to reformat my computer a dozen times because I fcked it up so bad. That's what you call learning by trial and error. Haha!

Frankly, there are things that I know now that I wish I had learned during that early days. That's why I love emulators. With emulators, I get to re-discover things that I should have done differently all those years ago. Best of all, I get to try out an old operating system that I didn't get the chance to play with.

Gaming is part of everyone's life growing up and me too, no less. But, I grew up in a poor, broken family that doesn't even have a house of our own until later on in our life. I remember playing games in a neighbor's or friend's house and at a small arcade shop.

The only thing that sticks with me is how sore my thumbs were. Being a kid during the early days of gaming and computer time means, there are things that I didn't get the chance to learn or play with. Like I've said, that's why I freaking love emulators.

The thing I really LOVE most is the laptop. The first time, I saw a laptop, I knew I want one. Don't exactly remember where I actually first saw one though. I only remember I had to sell my soul to get it. Somehow, I managed to get my hands on several different brands throughout the years.

Like they say, if you want something badly, you'll get it hooked or by crooked. Nowadays, you can easily get to enjoy all the glory of the past and probably the future. You have a computer right in your pockets. And, emulators are also available for them.

I guess I have to thanks the genius that created them for us oldie lovers. One thing I hope is that maybe the companies can do a retro build of their machine for the future gens. I'll love to get my hands on the early Apple I or II. Heck, I still have diskettes of files from the 90s.

Wish, I didn't throw away or sold my old PC and laptops. I still keep lots of old diskettes, CDs, thumb drives of games, and software (mostly copyrights). The thing is, because of emulators, lots of the files I saved back then are now easily available online. :p

Check out archive.org full of emulators, games, and old software. Pretty cool!
