nintendo Switch lite Smilebasic 4 coding my own music player

Nintendo Switch with Neon Blue and Neon Red Joy‑Con - HAC-001(-01)

Hey guys,

Check it out!

Last night, I was trying to figure out how to code and play music using smileBASIC 4 on my switch lite. Once, I discovered how, I thought, why not try to create my own music player that will play all the cool background music included in the program?

I spend couple of hours working on it until around 2 am through trial and errors and finally created close to what I wanted. All this while on my bed. I could use my keyboard and mouse but it wasn't that difficult using the digital keyboard and controller. Coding on the go is really fun!

One thing though, I wish, we could access music if stored on our microSD card. I mean wouldn't that be cool. Being able to learn how to code and create your own music player to listen to your favorite music. Nintendo needs to open up their system.

You might want to check out the smileBASIC main website and join their community. You can also actually visit it from the switch program. I really like this. It reminds me of raspberrypi.org A way for people to learn about programming in a fun, easy, and quick way!

Of course, the raspberry pi is way cheaper than a Nintendo Switch. And, the raspberry pi can be use as your main computer. The latest iteration is raspberry pi 4. Which I think is much faster then pi 3. I'm not sure as I haven't yet got myself the pi 4. The last I remember watching youtube was pretty bad.

I like dabbling with the OS. My favorite is the Kano computer OS. It's a great learning computer for the kids. But, if you want to learn about computers and coding, it's definitely fun for adults too. Anyway, if these products were available during my childhood days, I would have told my parents to get this.

Nintendo could work with educators and let kids use their system for education. Not just for gaming. It will make learning much more fun. Computing, AI, and Robotics is the future. We need smart people to build a spaceship. A very BIG spaceship to explore and colonize the universe.

The portability of the Nintendo Switch is a big plus. It's pretty light, great for gaming with the included controller (could be more ergonomic). The ability to add accessories to it like the keyboard and mouse is great when you dock it to a monitor or TV.

As much as Nintendo wants a close gaming only system, people are going to hack it no matter what. It's in the human gene to explore and tinker with things. Instead of fighting it, they should embrace it. For one thing, they'll get to sell more.

Reports of sales have been good for the Nintendo Switch even during this pandemic time. Their eShop though is pretty limited. Open it up to apps, games, music, movies, and even ebooks so that people can do more with their switch. I'm pretty sure, I'm not alone in wanting this.

What you guys think?
