Finally, got the spare batteries that I ordered. Although, I actually ordered the 7.2V version they send me the 7.4V instead. I've read somewhere that some have been using the version for years and had no problem with their camera.

I did test the third-party batteries on my Nikon Coolpix p950 and everything seems to be ok. The specs really vary from the original but the size is the same. Anyway, the seller stated that it's supposedly compatible with my P950.

I've tried charging the original Nikon P950 camera with the charger and it actually works too. The size is obviously the same as the third-party battery so it fits nicely to the charger. But, I'm not recommending you to use it to charge. As I don't know if it's a good idea to do that.

Anyway, I've thought about it and I'll rather charge the original battery while the camera is connected to my computer when transferring pics and videos. I'm still new to the camera and I don't want to fck it up yet. The good thing is that now I have a total of 4 batteries.

The first time, I used my Nikon P950, I thought one battery would be enough as I thought, I won't be taking too many photos and videos. I forget that if you use your camera zooming capability the mechanical will use up your battery too.

I was practically going crazy with the 83x zoom. And, the power bank that I was using doesn't have fast charging. It takes too long to recharge. Thank goodness, I managed to get some good pictures and videos while only using one battery. Lol.

Now, with 4 batteries, I can go crazy taking photos and videos without thinking about battery managing. But, I still have to think about my SD Card. I think that'll be my next target purchase. To buy more SD cards. I'll be taking loads of pics and videos far into the future.

I've also bought some new filters to be used with my camera. I'm slowly moving to the technical part of using the camera. The manual settings have many choices, and I'm beginning to see the full potential of the camera. Like, choosing a different main color for the pictures. Interesting!



Nikon EN-EL20a Rechargeable Li-ion Battery

I'm not really sure of third-party products. Sometimes, they're pretty good and much cheaper. Of course, if you want to be safe, it's better to get the original from the main manufacture of the products itself. For third-party, you'll want to check out the review first before getting them.

I'm glad, by the time I got the Nikon Coolpix P950, there's already the P900 and the P1000. Even the P950 has already been out for almost 2 years? So, there's a lot of info out there you can read up on. The P950 is basically the little brother of the P1000.

The battery EN-EL20/20a for the P1000 is also the same as the P950. Some say, whatever you can use on the P1000 the new P950 can also be used. So like I say, there's no shortage of products already available on the market for the P950. I've learned batteries are basically the lifeline of my camera.

As promised, here's the video clip of the beautiful big badass black lizard that caught my eyes just as I was walking briskly, passing by it. I'm in a botanic garden, so it's probably already used to be surrounded by humans. The way it chills as I took a video of it.

I was the only one taking videos of the lizard. Precisely, why I like going around taking pictures and videos during normal working days. If it were the weekends, the place would have been full of noisy weekenders. It'll be worse if there were pesky kids.

The botanic gardens I went to were relatively quiet and it was in mid-afternoon. But, the sky was still grey and moody. I managed to take loads of pictures and a little more after re-charging my one camera battery for a while. 

I'm glad, I was able to re-charge my battery with my power bank or I wouldn't be able to record video of the lizard. Using a power bank to re-charge my Nikon Coolpix P950 is too slow. Nowadays, there's fast charging, but I'm not too sure how fast is fast.

I still haven't got myself extra camera batteries. I'll get it soon. Meanwhile, I'm just being mindful of using too much zooming and taking unnecessary photos. I actually don't like using the burst mode. Ok, maybe because I don't want to waste space and battery. Also, I'm not used to using it.

I'm still new to using a point-and-shoot camera like the P950. The only settings I've been using are the Scene, close-up and single shot. I switch between auto a lot. And, I always play with the light compensation. Especially, in the moody weather.

Now, I'm thinking of getting new camera filter for different effects. I also need to learn to use the other types of settings available on my camera. Browsing through the P950 online manual makes me realized there's more to it then just using the scene and auto.

I might want to try out the P, S, A and M modes. I'm actually afraid to use them. I don't want to fck up my pictures and videos. But, now since, I've already taken loads of pictures and videos for my youtube channel. I'm ready to try them out next time.

I really need to get out more and test the camera further. I'm a lazy homeboy but having this camera makes me want to go out and play with it. This is basically my new hobby or interest. I'm actually thinking of maybe setting up a new channel just for photo and video-graphy.

I don't know why every local park I went to, I'm sure to find this big lizard walking around or just swimming around in the lake. I was resting at the park shelter when I saw something moving in the water. At first, I thought it was a snake or piece of wood. Turn out it's the lizard!

I was actually still re-charging the camera battery with my power bank. Luckily, the lizard still hanging around at the side of the lake. That's why I love the zooming capability of the Nikon Coolpix P950. I can discreetly zoom in to just its head popping out of the water.

It must have noticed me as it decided to swim to the other side. The way it swam reminds me of the movie, Godzilla. Also, it didn't go under the water. Makes me wonder if they actually do that in real life. Well, the movie always exaggerates to make it more interesting.

There was a couple of time when I make the mistake of moving too near the animals to take pictures or videos. When I can simply just use the camera to zoom. I guess that's why they say the Nikon P1000, P900 and P950 are best for wildlife.

In one of my pictures, I didn't realize there was a dragonfly on the branch far out in the water. I only notice it after uploading it on my video. Again, without the zooming capability of my camera, I wouldn't have seen it. 

That's one of the advantages of the Nikon Coolpix P950. In fact, I'm frequently using zoom to take pictures and videos. It actually came naturally to me. My nephew saw one guy with his camera and big lens. I told him, he's probably a pro.

Ok, maybe it's just his interest in camera and photography. But, the kind of lens he's carrying, that probably cost more than my camera. I wouldn't be able to afford it. I got my P950 at half the price because it's a demo version. And, it still looks brand new.

The P950 is a great starter camera for me. It's probably for you too if you've never owned a point-and-shoot camera. Especially with the 83x zoom. You can take videos in 4K and upload them in 1080P. The quality of the image would be better than being downgraded from 1080P.

Another great thing about the camera that I keep forgetting to talk about is how stable it is, even without a camera tripod. Ok, if you really want a more steady shot, then you'll need one. But, for moments where you don't want to lose a shot like me taking the video of the lizard swimming, it does help.

I don't have steady hands. And, it does shake a lot when you're at maximum zoom. I found that out when taking videos of boats and planes without a tripod. I also managed to save up the battery before I finished getting what I wanted.

Also, my 128GB SD card storage has finally dropped below the 100GB mark. I might have to get a new card soon. I'm planning to buy a new card every time it's full and keep all my pics and videos on it. I don't trust any backup HD drive as they have failed me time and again.

Yesterday, I went to my local botanic gardens and took some pictures and videos with my Nikon Coolpix P950. I dabble a lot with the setting, switching between Auto and Scene. Especially, for the close-up shot. Personally, I really like the pictures and videos that I took. Have a looksie here!

I'm still not sure what I'm doing. The LCD screen is not really helping as they don't really show the quality of the picture I've taken. Sometimes, I'll think the picture is a little washup but when I upload to my PC or laptop, they actually look great. I'm glad, I didn't delete a couple of those shots.

I'm learning though. I like playing with the ISO. It's easy to access and quickly adjust the lighting. I also keep forgetting that I'm already using the UV filter. So, the pictures are already affected by the filter. Which gives the pictures and video a little more color.

I really need to buy extra batteries for the camera. Halfway through taking pictures and the battery went dead. I didn't think I'll need an extra battery. As I was sure I won't be taking that many pictures and videos. I was planning to just stay at the botanic gardens for maybe 1 or 2 hrs.

I did bring along my power bank and managed to charge it to half full for around 30 mins. It's pretty slow to charge. I'm not sure if the latest power bank could charge a little faster. But, I took the time to relax, eat and drink some water.

I haven't done this much walking for a while. Not just because of the  Covid-19 pandemic. I'm kinda a homely person. I only go out of my house if I have to, like work. Other than that I just stayed home and do my own things. Maybe, because I'm getting older.

When you're young, you hang out with your schoolmates and go places. When you get older, most of your friends are married with children. When I had a girlfriend, they're actually the ones coercing me to go out with them. Now, I'm single again and going out because of my new camera. Lol.

I'm not complaining though. Like I've said, I've always been interested in owning a camera and taking great photos. In recent years, I've been using my Apple iPhone, iPad, and Samsung phone as the main camera to take pictures and videos. But, having a camera is very much a different kind of ball game.

Right now, I'm still learning how to use a point-and-shoot camera. It's becoming my new hobby. With social media, you can easily share all your works. And, of course, an added bonus for my blog and youtube channel. I also have to remember that sometimes not everyone likes my pictures and videos.

My sis gave me a damning critic of my photo whereas my ex-colleagues at work praise how bright it is. In the end, I told her that everyone has their own opinion, and that doesn't mean I have to accept it. In any case, I'm still getting the hang of it and I'm already thinking of other types of cameras. 

You've got to start somewhere right? And, people usually edit their main pictures for imperfection. I don't know why my sis and one of my friends asked me to use a flash in broad daylight to take outdoor photos. Yes, I've seen pros working using lighting effects outdoor before. 

I'm not a pro photographer and I don't have money to buy expensive equipment. I'm not in the photography business. I work with what I have and if most people are okay with it, I'm happy. I'll learn and improve as I go along with this new hobby of mine. So, keep visiting my blog and channel!

There are now, several new interesting design urban bags. Some even come with a locking device. If you travel abroad a lot, this would be useful. Most urban bags are also waterproof. When I was in the military, we put our clean uniform inside a zip lock bag or the whole thing inside a black trash bag.

I'm not sure about the kind of backpack the military uses now but, in my time, we waterproof every single item for standby with plastic bags. Although, electronic devices like the iPad or even the mobile phone didn't exist back then.

I wanted to test how long it'll take for my Kedron 24000 mAh power bank to charge my Nintendo Switch lite. Normally, I'll use the provided switch lite power adapter at home. But, just in case if I'm outdoors, this would be useful to know.

First thing first, here's the unboxing video link of my Kedron 24000mAh portable charger that I bought for my Samsung Note 10+. I've had it for quite a while and I've used it to charge my phone a couple of times. Both using the wireless capability or by USB A to USB C cable.

The bigger they are the better? I got the 24000 mAh so that I can charge a couple of my devices at one time or charge a single device like my phone 2-3 times. I like that even if I hadn't used the power bank for a while it still can keep the full charge.

The good news is, I can charge my switch lite with the power bank and it took almost 2 hrs to reach 100% from 49%. My power bank was at 96% when it started to charge and only use 20%. It's now left with 76%. In short, it'll probably take around 4hrs + if I were to charge it from zero %.

One thing to note is that I prefer to not fully charged my switch lite. And, I don't usually wait till it's almost zero before I charge it again. I read somewhere that it's better to charge your phone when it's 40% and stop at 80%. To prolong the battery life span. I follow that same principle for every electronic device I have.

Some people might not agree with that. But, I think it's a good practice. Anyway, it's a little faster to wait for your device to be fully charged when it starts from 40% instead of zero. Another tip is that I remembered a phone shop owner telling me not to charge my phone overnight. It's not good for the phone battery. Although, nowadays, your phone will stop charging if it's full.

In any case, I practice the routine of charging my phone at least until above 80% and never do overnight charge. If I'm working outside, I usually recharge my phone during my lunch break. The next time I charge it when I'm at home.

Of course, how many times you charged your own phone pretty much depends on your usage. For now, I've never actually brought my switch lite outside. So, I'm not sure how many times, I will need to charge it. It'll depend on how many times I have played games on it.

It'll also depend on where I'm going. If I'm going on a long holiday, I'll probably just bring my main charger. If I'm working, I'll then probably bring my portable charger. I can use it to charge my phone and my switch lite at the same time. Pretty nifty.

Oh, one thing to also note is that, if there's a wall plug, I sometimes play and charged at the same time. I haven't tried playing and charging with the power bank yet. I'm not sure if I can do that. I assumed it will be much slower. You might be able to do that with the latest upgraded power bank though.

I was looking for a portable power bank charger for my Samsung Note 10+ when I come across the Kedron 24000 mAh wireless charging. It actually intrigued me. Wireless charging power bank? Will it charge fast? Will it work like the Samsung wireless 2.0 Fast charge pad?

The answer to those questions is nope. To all of them. It doesn't charge fast enough but my advice is don't wait until your phone is way down to 10%. I read somewhere that if you charge your phone when it's at 40% and stop at 80% it will prolong your phone battery.

If you start to charge the phone when it's at 40% it will seem to charge faster to full. I normally try to stop charging my phone when it's 90%. This power bank will be useful for me to charge my phone when I'm away from an outlet. And, I can just pop on top of it to start charging.

Have I told you about it's Lcd screen that shows you how many % the power bank left with? Whenever you charge the power bank or your phone, you'll see the screen shows either 'In' or 'Out'. Pretty useful info. Of course, you can also see how long it will take to charge your phone from your phone screen.

You can charge your phone by putting on top of it upright or horizontally. I think you can wireless charge two devices at once. If not, there's 3 USB port for you to charge all your electronic devices at once. Oh yeah, I tried wireless charging my Samsung Bluetooth earbuds and it works too!

So far, I'm pretty satisfied with this product. Go get it!

One other reason that I like the iPega red knight retractable controller is that you can also use it to play your favorite retro games. At first, I didn't know how to make it works but I read on reviews that you need to press and hold the buttons HOME + X to change to mode 3. And then reconnect the phone Bluetooth.

You can also check out the product instructions on the iPega main website and download the pdf for the 9087S wireless controller. Once, I got it to work, it really felt nice playing with the controller. Like I've said before, it's like you're getting the switch lite. Only, I call it the switch phone!

The price is pretty cheap for this kind of retractable controller. You can put your phone on it or just use it as a normal controller. They can definitely improve on it like adding a power bank to charge the phone while playing and rumble. But, that probably will cost more.

It will also be great if you can connect the controller to the Tv. It'll be like the Nintendo switch. You can play games on the go and also dock it to the big screen. I know. I'm just dreaming of what more the products can be. They can definitely expand on this product more.

My Samsung S10 plus fit quite nicely to the controller. I don't have to worry about the phone falling off. The grip is strong. So strong, I'm afraid it'll bend my phone. So far, so good though. Oh yeah, if you watch the video, you'll see that I put on the switch joy-con cap on the joystick. I thought it'll help since it's a little small.

Definitely, a great buy. To think, I thought I've wasted my money on it. Since it can't play the game Rush Rally 3. Once, I tried other games like PUBG, Real Racing 3, Asphalt 9 legends and even Gear.Club. I've changed my mind. Especially, now that I can play retro games with it.
