Nikon Coolpix P950 - Camera Shooting Grip With Wireless Remote

Wireless Shooting Grip and Tripod Camera Remote Control Shutter Release for Nikon COOLPIX B600, A1000, P1000, Z50, P950

Hey guys,

Check it out!

The shooting grip with wireless remote finally arrived yesterday and I'm pretty happy with the product. I quickly did my unboxing, pair it to my camera via Bluetooth, and test it out. It works pretty smoothly without any kind of hiccups. Watch the video here.

I must say, I'm pretty impressed with the build quality. The adjustable stand has rubber grips on it and it can certainly hold my heavy P950. The stand does have a bit of weight on it. You can turn any which way you want to take photos, selfies, and videography.

I've actually never thought of getting a camera shooting grip. I did think of getting a wireless remote. Sometimes, when I want to record or take photos, I'm afraid to shake the camera too much. Even though the camera is on a tripod.

I don't have to worry about shaking the camera when pressing the record button anymore. I also don't have to be near the camera. I've talked about how my video was shaking weirdly when I was taking video and walking at the same time. Hope the shooting grip stick will help.

Wireless Bluetooth Remote Control Shooting Grip Mini Tabletop Tripod Video Holder for Nikon Z fc Z50 Coolpix P1000 P950 B600 A1000 Camera Replaces ML-L7 for Selfie Vlog Anti-Shaking Photography

When you're holding the stick, you're holding the camera in a central position. I think because I was holding the camera on the right side, it looks as if I have a problem walking on my left leg. I didn't even notice the wobbling until I was at home editing the video.

Well, you learn from your experience. I guess, the more I use my camera, the more I'll learn to avoid all those irritating little mistakes. The good thing is that I'm enjoying taking all those pictures and videos. It's not just for my youtube channel.

AODELAN WTR2 Wireless Shutter Release Timer Remote Control for Nikon Z6, Z7, Coolpix P1000, D850, D810, D700, D4, D5, D4s, D3100, D5000, D7200, D600, D610, D750, D3200, D3300; Replace MC-DC2, MC-36

I'm looking at some of this wireless shutter release timer remote control and am a little intrigued. I don't usually use a timer to take photos. I also don't use the burst mode. Right now, I'm just using one shot one photo. I feel like wasting time just to take that one perfect photo that you wanted.

Then again, I'm new to photography, so, who knows I'll use the burst mode in the future. Especially, for moving objects. Come to think of it, there's so much that I feel that I need to know. I still haven't really tried out all of my P950 features.

If you want a better grip on your camera, why not get the fantaseal ergonomic camera handle. Only that it doesn't have the wireless remote. I guess, you either want a better grip or you want a wireless remote. You can't have both with this kind of design.

That's why I kind of prefer the shooting grip with the wireless remote that I have bought. I can control the camera and use the remote at the same time. Pretty nifty don't you think? Granted, I haven't actually yet use the product in the real world.

AODELAN Wireless Camera Remote Control Remote Shutter Release for Nikon Z50, P1000, B600, A1000, P950; Replaces Nikon ML-L7

You can of course just get the wireless camera remote. If you already have a tripod or monopod and don't really need a shooting grip. Only the grip is more portable and much better to use than holding on a tripod. Which, I actually already tried before.

Nonetheless, I can't wait to try out my new camera shooting grip. There are so many things I want to try out with this camera. Many interesting things you can try to make your pictures and videos more interesting. Well, I've got a lifetime to learn.

Nikon Coolpix P950 - Adjustable Variable Filter UV CPL FLD ND2-ND400

67mm Multi-Coated 3 Piece Filter Kit (UV-CPL-FLD) for Nikon Coolpix P900, P950 Digital Camera

Hey guys,

Check it out!

I finally received the filters that I ordered for my Nikon Coolpix P950. And, they work great with my camera. The bad news is that, instead of getting the star point 4,6, and 8, they send me the wrong bundle filter collections.

I've been planning to use the star filter to takes some photos with star effect this month as it's my birthday and also the country independence day. There are cool lightings and banners set up everywhere. It's fun to see the whole country as if celebrating your birthday too. Lol

Nikon COOLPIX P950 Digital Camera - Bundle - (26532) USA Model + Color Multicoated 6pcs Filter Set + 2x EN-EL20 Battery + 2x SanDisk?Extreme PRO 64GB Card + Large Case + 12 Inch Flexible Tripod + More

I bought the variable neutral density adjustable ND lens filter that is pretty cool. The 67mm filter fits nicely to the camera and you can easily and quickly adjust how dark or bright your picture will be. I showed it on my video. You can watch it here.

The current weather is kinda weird. It'll rain heavily in the morning and be bright in the afternoon. Then, it'll be moody grey the whole day. I haven't yet gone out to test the filter in full but, I'm just playing around with them while at home.

67mm 4Pc Macro Close-up Filters, UV-CPL-FLD Filter Set, Lens Hood for Nikon Coolpix P900 P950

Playing with filter is pretty fun. Right now, I'm on the lookout for filters that can turn your mundane photos into something interesting to see. Playing with filter and colors can really make your picture stands out. I discovered that in my P950 menu settings.

I've only spent a couple of weeks with my camera and it's only when I'm taking photos and fiddling with the menu settings that I realized what more I can do instead of just using the auto-setting. I'm a little afraid to try them out as I want to put out something quick first on my youtube channel.

Urth x Gobe 67mm Star 4 Point, 6 Point, 8 Point Lens Filter Kit

Of course, the more I play with it, the more I'll discover the new techniques and technical stuff. For now, I basically have everything I want to work with my camera. Yes, there are a lot of filters out there that I haven't bought, and try them out.

I'm just looking for places and interesting subjects to take photos and videos of. Too bad, because of the pandemic, there are still travel restrictions. The more you travel, the more interesting photos you can take. I'll want to see what you can do with the P950.

K&F Concept 67mm ND Fader Variable Neutral Density Adjustable ND Filter ND2 to ND400 for Canon 7D 700D 600D 70D 60D 650D 550D for Nikon D7100 D80 D90 D7000 D5200 D3200 D5100 D3200 D5300 DSLR Cameras + Lens Cleaning Cloth

One day, I might even move on from the Nikon Coolpix P950. But, so far, I'm loving it. What I hear or read people complain about the camera is the pictures aren't good or dynamic enough. I think, if you're really a good photographer, you can certainly do more with less.

Whatever. I'm no pro, so I can't really give my 2 cts. This is basically my new hobby. I'm open and willing to hear other's opinions. You can give yours on my P950 videos. If you have ideas or even your own photography blog and channel, just comment on my youtube videos.

Check out some sample pics I took with the variable adjustable filter ND2 - ND400 below!

I need to remember where my object focus is. Not, just taking random focus. Not, knowing what I'm aiming for.

A little darker. If I had the starburst, the light would have star effects. Alas, they send me the wrong product.

For both of these pics, I played around with the camera scene color settings. I only realized you can do this while testing the filter. I also used my portable monitor color as backdrops.

I'll be happy to check your blog and channel out. Subscribe to me and I'll subscribe back. I've actually been checking out some videos on the P950 83x zoom capability before I bought my camera. But, there aren't many who actually took some really good pictures or videos with it.

I don't know why instead of going closer to take the last two pictures, I actually zoomed from where I was sitting. I'm using the zooming capability too much. That's why the battery kinda used up pretty fast. I also forget the camera can get very close shots. I didn't try that when I was out taking photos.

Well, the more you play with your camera, the more you learn!

Nikon Coolpix P950 - Big Badass Black Godzilla!

Nikon COOLPIX P950 Digital Camera w/NIKKOR 83x Optical Zoom Lens, 64GB Transcend SD Memory Card, Tripod, Bag, Lens Blower/Cleaner, and More

Hey guys,

Check it out!

As promised, here's the video clip of the beautiful big badass black lizard that caught my eyes just as I was walking briskly, passing by it. I'm in a botanic garden, so it's probably already used to be surrounded by humans. The way it chills as I took a video of it.

I was the only one taking videos of the lizard. Precisely, why I like going around taking pictures and videos during normal working days. If it were the weekends, the place would have been full of noisy weekenders. It'll be worse if there were pesky kids.

Nikon COOLPIX P950 Digital Camera w/NIKKOR 83x Optical Zoom Lens, 64GB Transcend SD Memory Card, Tripod, Bag, Lens Blower/Cleaner, and More

The botanic gardens I went to were relatively quiet and it was in mid-afternoon. But, the sky was still grey and moody. I managed to take loads of pictures and a little more after re-charging my one camera battery for a while.

I'm glad, I was able to re-charge my battery with my power bank or I wouldn't be able to record video of the lizard. Using a power bank to re-charge my Nikon Coolpix P950 is too slow. Nowadays, there's fast charging, but I'm not too sure how fast is fast.

BM Premium Pack of 2 ENEL20, EN-EL20a Batteries and USB Dual Battery Charger for Nikon Coolpix P950, P1000, DL24-500, Coolpix A, 1 AW1, 1 J1, 1 J2, 1 J3, 1 S1, 1 V3 Digital Camera

I still haven't got myself extra camera batteries. I'll get it soon. Meanwhile, I'm just being mindful of using too much zooming and taking unnecessary photos. I actually don't like using the burst mode. Ok, maybe because I don't want to waste space and battery. Also, I'm not used to using it.

I'm still new to using a point-and-shoot camera like the P950. The only settings I've been using are the Scene, close-up and single shot. I switch between auto a lot. And, I always play with the light compensation. Especially, in the moody weather.

67mm Multi-Coated 3 Piece Filter Kit (UV-CPL-FLD) for Nikon CoolPix P900, P950 Digital Camera

Now, I'm thinking of getting new camera filter for different effects. I also need to learn to use the other types of settings available on my camera. Browsing through the P950 online manual makes me realized there's more to it then just using the scene and auto.

I might want to try out the P, S, A and M modes. I'm actually afraid to use them. I don't want to fck up my pictures and videos. But, now since, I've already taken loads of pictures and videos for my youtube channel. I'm ready to try them out next time.

Photographer's Guide to the Nikon Coolpix P950: Getting the Most from Nikon's Superzoom Digital Camera

I really need to get out more and test the camera further. I'm a lazy homeboy but having this camera makes me want to go out and play with it. This is basically my new hobby or interest. I'm actually thinking of maybe setting up a new channel just for photo and video-graphy.

I love sharing the pictures and videos I have taken with the camera. I'll learn more as time goes by and maybe you can even see the difference in image and video quality throughout the years. If you have visited and watch my youtube videos, say hi or give me tips if you want to.

I can't leave the comment open on my blog because there are too many spammers. You can drop me an email on my contact sections. I just remembered asking someone several decades ago sending her mountain pictures. I love mountains and natural landscapes. I might take them myself one day.

Nikon Coolpix P950 - Swimming Godzilla?

Nikon COOLPIX P950 Digital Camera w/NIKKOR 83x Optical Zoom Lens, 64GB Transcend SD Memory Card, Tripod, Bag, Lens Blower/Cleaner, and More

Hey guys,

Check it out!

I don't know why every local park I went to, I'm sure to find this big lizard walking around or just swimming around in the lake. I was resting at the park shelter when I saw something moving in the water. At first, I thought it was a snake or piece of wood. Turn out it's the lizard!

I was actually still re-charging the camera battery with my power bank. Luckily, the lizard still hanging around at the side of the lake. That's why I love the zooming capability of the Nikon Coolpix P950. I can discreetly zoom in to just its head popping out of the water.

Nikon COOLPIX P950 Digital Camera - Bundle - (26532) USA Model + Color Multicoated 6pcs Filter Set + 2x EN-EL20 Battery + 2x SanDisk?Extreme PRO 64GB Card + Large Case + 12 Inch Flexible Tripod + More

It must have noticed me as it decided to swim to the other side. The way it swam reminds me of the movie, Godzilla. Also, it didn't go under the water. Makes me wonder if they actually do that in real life. Well, the movie always exaggerates to make it more interesting.

There was a couple of time when I make the mistake of moving too near the animals to take pictures or videos. When I can simply just use the camera to zoom. I guess that's why they say the Nikon P1000, P900 and P950 are best for wildlife.

Nikon COOLPIX P950 Digital Camera MFR 26532 Bundle + 128GB High Speed V30 Memory + Video U-Bracket + Bag, HD Filters & More

In one of my pictures, I didn't realize there was a dragonfly on the branch far out in the water. I only notice it after uploading it on my video. Again, without the zooming capability of my camera, I wouldn't have seen it.

That's one of the advantages of the Nikon Coolpix P950. In fact, I'm frequently using zoom to take pictures and videos. It actually came naturally to me. My nephew saw one guy with his camera and big lens. I told him, he's probably a pro.

BM Premium Pack of 2 ENEL20, EN-EL20a Batteries and USB Dual Battery Charger for Nikon Coolpix P950, P1000, DL24-500, Coolpix A, 1 AW1, 1 J1, 1 J2, 1 J3, 1 S1, 1 V3 Digital Camera

Ok, maybe it's just his interest in camera and photography. But, the kind of lens he's carrying, that probably cost more than my camera. I wouldn't be able to afford it. I got my P950 at half the price because it's a demo version. And, it still looks brand new.

The P950 is a great starter camera for me. It's probably for you too if you've never owned a point-and-shoot camera. Especially with the 83x zoom. You can take videos in 4K and upload them in 1080P. The quality of the image would be better than being downgraded from 1080P.

SanDisk 128GB Ultra SDXC UHS-I Memory Card - 100MB/s, C10, U1, Full HD, SD Card - SDSDUNR-128G-GN6IN

Another great thing about the camera that I keep forgetting to talk about is how stable it is, even without a camera tripod. Ok, if you really want a more steady shot, then you'll need one. But, for moments where you don't want to lose a shot like me taking the video of the lizard swimming, it does help.

I don't have steady hands. And, it does shake a lot when you're at maximum zoom. I found that out when taking videos of boats and planes without a tripod. I also managed to save up the battery before I finished getting what I wanted.

Also, my 128GB SD card storage has finally dropped below the 100GB mark. I might have to get a new card soon. I'm planning to buy a new card every time it's full and keep all my pics and videos on it. I don't trust any backup HD drive as they have failed me time and again.

Don't forget to check out the swimming Godzilla video. I might talk about another shorter video of the black lizard which I took last week. So, keep coming back to my blog!

Nikon Coolpix P950 - Pictures & Videos of Lakeside Garden

Nikon COOLPIX P950 Digital Camera w/NIKKOR 83x Optical Zoom Lens, 64GB Transcend SD Memory Card, Tripod, Bag, Lens Blower/Cleaner, and More

Hey guys,

Check it out!

Yup! I'm really enjoying using my new Nikon Coolpix P950 camera. Really, starting to get a hang of it. I've been to several local areas and taking pictures and videos for my youtube channel. You can check out the latest video here. Don't forget to like, share & subscribe!

Of course, I'm having fun. But, at the same time, it's actually pretty tiring. The lakeside garden that I went to was pretty large and part of it is actually under renovation. It's slated to open again next year. They're probably taking advantage of the Covid-19 pandemic.

Nikon COOLPIX P950 Digital Camera w/NIKKOR 83x Optical Zoom Lens, 64GB Transcend SD Memory Card, Tripod, Bag, Lens Blower/Cleaner, and More

I might come back again to visit it. There's gonna be a new Chinese & Japanese garden there. It'll be great to take more pictures and video then. Since had my new camera, I've been looking for cool places to go and take pictures and videos.

You still can't travel out of the country but, I'm taking the time to improve my amateur photography and videography skills. There's always something interesting in your own local area. You just need to have a good eye and find a good place for your adventure.

Photographer's Guide to the Nikon Coolpix P950: Getting the Most from Nikon's Superzoom Digital Camera

A lot of people complain that the pictures taken with the P950 aren't good. Especially, in low light. Well, kinda true. But, you can always edit it later. You can save it in raw file format. But, I find myself just sticking to jpeg. And, I'm too lazy to edit the pictures.

Normally, I'll just upload everything to one video. Be it pictures or videos. In that way, people can see the pictures and videos as it is. So, they'll know the quality taken with the P950. You can even see some of the pictures are dark and some a little lighter.

Nikon Coolpix P900/P950 High-Grade Multi-Coated, Multi-Threaded, 3 Piece Lens Filter Kit, Made by Optics + Nwv Direct Microfiber Cleaning Cloth.

The weather has been kinda grey and moody these past few weeks. That's probably why you don't see any nice blue sky in my pictures and videos. Anyway, when the weather is nice and sunny, I'll be able to take different types of images soon.

I'm still enjoying using the Nikon P950. I really like the zoom capability. I'm always constantly playing with the zoom. Unlike when using my Samsung phone, which obviously doesn't have as good zooming capability, I just take pictures as it is. Far or near.

BM Premium Pack of 2 ENEL20, EN-EL20a Batteries and USB Dual Battery Charger for Nikon Coolpix P950, P1000, DL24-500, Coolpix A, 1 AW1, 1 J1, 1 J2, 1 J3, 1 S1, 1 V3 Digital Camera

I still haven't got myself extra batteries for the P950. I really should get it. One battery isn't enough, especially when you use zooming a lot. The power bank isn't fast enough for recharging the original battery inside. Unless I can find a PowerPoint.

I also find myself taking a lot of photos and videos. Sometimes, the same pictures over again but with different lighting, settings, and angle. Well, you do try to get the best the camera can produce. That's why I'm too lazy to edit. But, later on, I might edit one or two for social media.

I find myself re-using some of the photos for different purposes. The good thing is that it's all mine and I don't have to worry about the copyrights issue. But, I actually encounter one with my moon videos. Somebody or company claiming my videos as theirs. Maybe, it's a coincidence they look the same.

Nikon Coolpix P950 - Botanic gardens - Ever seen a Big Badass Black Lizard?

Nikon COOLPIX P950 83x Optical Zoom Digital Camera (USA 26532) with 16PC Accessory Bundle Package – Includes: SanDisk Extreme PRO 64GB SDXC Memory Card + 2X Extended Life Battery + 57” Tripod + More

Hey guys,

Check it out!

Yesterday, I went to my local botanic gardens and took some pictures and videos with my Nikon Coolpix P950. I dabble a lot with the setting, switching between Auto and Scene. Especially, for the close-up shot. Personally, I really like the pictures and videos that I took. Have a looksie here!

I'm still not sure what I'm doing. The LCD screen is not really helping as they don't really show the quality of the picture I've taken. Sometimes, I'll think the picture is a little washup but when I upload to my PC or laptop, they actually look great. I'm glad, I didn't delete a couple of those shots.

Photographer's Guide to the Nikon Coolpix P950: Getting the Most from Nikon's Superzoom Digital Camera

I'm learning though. I like playing with the ISO. It's easy to access and quickly adjust the lighting. I also keep forgetting that I'm already using the UV filter. So, the pictures are already affected by the filter. Which gives the pictures and video a little more color.

Take a look at the pictures and videos and tell me what you think here. I might also want to get the photographer's guidebook on using the Nikon Coolpix P950. Little tips might improve the quality of my pictures and videos in the future.

Nikon COOLPIX P950 83x Optical Zoom Digital Camera (USA 26532) with 16PC Accessory Bundle Package – Includes: SanDisk Extreme PRO 64GB SDXC Memory Card + 2X Extended Life Battery + 57” Tripod + More

I really need to buy extra batteries for the camera. Halfway through taking pictures and the battery went dead. I didn't think I'll need an extra battery. As I was sure I won't be taking that many pictures and videos. I was planning to just stay at the botanic gardens for maybe 1 or 2 hrs.

I did bring along my power bank and managed to charge it to half full for around 30 mins. It's pretty slow to charge. I'm not sure if the latest power bank could charge a little faster. But, I took the time to relax, eat and drink some water.

Nikon EN-EL20a Rechargeable Li-ion Battery

I haven't done this much walking for a while. Not just because of the  Covid-19 pandemic. I'm kinda a homely person. I only go out of my house if I have to, like work. Other than that I just stayed home and do my own things. Maybe, because I'm getting older.

When you're young, you hang out with your schoolmates and go places. When you get older, most of your friends are married with children. When I had a girlfriend, they're actually the ones coercing me to go out with them. Now, I'm single again and going out because of my new camera. Lol.

MegaGear MG1877 Ever Ready Leather Camera Case Compatible with Nikon Coolpix P950 - Black

I'm not complaining though. Like I've said, I've always been interested in owning a camera and taking great photos. In recent years, I've been using my Apple iPhone, iPad, and Samsung phone as the main camera to take pictures and videos. But, having a camera is very much a different kind of ball game.

Right now, I'm still learning how to use a point-and-shoot camera. It's becoming my new hobby. With social media, you can easily share all your works. And, of course, an added bonus for my blog and youtube channel. I also have to remember that sometimes not everyone likes my pictures and videos.

Check out these one original and two edited sample photos were taken from my P950 edited using FB editor (I don't have any photo & video editing software):

The original pic was taken from Nikon Coolpix P950. Admittedly, it's a little washup.

Edited with FB editor.

My sis gave me a damning critic of my photo whereas my ex-colleagues at work praise how bright it is. In the end, I told her that everyone has their own opinion, and that doesn't mean I have to accept it. In any case, I'm still getting the hang of it and I'm already thinking of other types of cameras.

You've got to start somewhere right? And, people usually edit their main pictures for imperfection. I don't know why my sis and one of my friends asked me to use a flash in broad daylight to take outdoor photos. Yes, I've seen pros working using lighting effects outdoor before.

I'm not a pro photographer and I don't have money to buy expensive equipment. I'm not in the photography business. I work with what I have and if most people are okay with it, I'm happy. I'll learn and improve as I go along with this new hobby of mine. So, keep visiting my blog and channel!

By the way, check out the big badass black lizard at the near end of my video. At the moment, the Nikon Coolpix P950 is still the only camera I have, and loving it. Yes!

Nikon Coolpix P950 - A Bird Building A Nest In Front Of My Door

Nikon COOLPIX P950 Compact Digital Camera with 83x Optical Zoom Super Telephoto Lens Bundle Including Triple Battery + Deco Gear Backpack Bag Case + Filter Kit + Photo Video Software and Accessories

Hey guys,

Check it out!

I've been wanting to take pictures and videos of birds with my new Nikon Coolpix P950 but I still haven't plan to go anywhere yet. There are several good places I can go to, but I'm not really familiar with those places. Well, maybe in the near future.

Meanwhile, what luck! There's actually a bird building a nest right outside my door. I was actually wondering yesterday about where the bird's noises were coming from. I thought they were from the roof. Turn out, it's just outside my door and I didn't even notice it.

Nikon COOLPIX P950 Compact Digital Camera with 83x Optical Zoom Super Telephoto Lens Bundle Including Triple Battery + Deco Gear Backpack Bag Case + Filter Kit + Photo Video Software and Accessories

When I opened my door this morning, I saw all these little woods on my welcome mat. I thought somebody was sending voodoo stuff to me. Lol. I look up and there's the little birds' nest. Probably blown away by the wind.

I went inside and waited for a while. The bird saw me standing at the door and it was a little apprehensive at first. I stay quiet and it became brave and start building up to its nest again. I decided to get my camera and my tripod

Nikon COOLPIX P950 Digital Camera - Bundle - (26532) USA Model + Color Multicoated 6pcs Filter Set + 2x EN-EL20 Battery + 2x SanDisk?Extreme PRO 64GB Card + Large Case + 12 Inch Flexible Tripod + More

I couldn't use the tripod as it was too near my door and the gate is blocking the view. Of course, I couldn't stay too near the door or the bird won't come. I opened the gate and just waited for it to come back every 15 to 20 mins with new materials for its nest.

I really had to be patient because I couldn't just sit there and wait for it to come. I took the time in between to test the zoom and settings. I decided to try the bird set as I am taking pics and videos of a bird. The grey moody weather doesn't help. It's been raining the past few days.

I managed to get 2 or 3 videos and a couple of pics. As I've said, the bird doesn't stay long. It'll come, put in the little woods that it could find, and fly away. It also doesn't stay still waiting for you to take pictures of it.  I actually wondered if this is how the professionals actually have to go through.

It's really not easy to get that perfect shot. I was either sitting or standing near the door waiting for the bird to come back. I felt as if I'm a baby bird waiting for mommy to bring me worms for breakfast or lunch. Yucks!

I just went to check on the bird's nest and there are more bits and pieces of wood and other stuff outside my door. I didn't know the wind outside my house was that strong. It was raining earlier so, might have made it worse.

No sign of the bird either. I'll have to wait and see if it'll continue building its nest in front of my door. You have to give credit to them for their perseverance. They're willing to work hard to build a nest for their newborn. Every parent (with some acceptance), humans or non-humans would do anything for their children.

It's part of our nature. Frankly, I'm not a parent, so I wouldn't know. But, it's just basic instincts. Animals don't have the brain capacity like us humans. We don't merely rely on instincts. We have brains, free will, and common sense (apparently some don't?).

Anyway, one day, I might see a baby bird outside my door and me and my P950 are ready!

Nikon Coolpix P950 - UV Filter - Is that a dragonfly?

Nikon COOLPIX P950 Compact Digital Camera with 83x Optical Zoom Super Telephoto Lens Bundle Including Triple Battery + Deco Gear Backpack Bag Case + Filter Kit + Photo Video Software and Accessories

Hey guys,

Check it out!

Well, my K&F Concept UV filter and tempered glass LCD screen protector finally arrived. The 67mm filter fit nicely to my Nikon Coolpix P950 and so did my screen protector. I wasn't sure how to install the screen protector at first, and I think I made the mistake of peeling the adhesive too.

Lucky for me, there are two of them and only after doing a search on Google, I realized the type that I bought. Silly me. I thought I had to peel off everything. I might buy another set later on, but for now, as long as it's doing the job of protecting my LCD screen.

I remembered decades ago I saw a guy with a cracked LCD screen. I don't think he put any screen protector. I asked him, why didn't he send it for repair. He just smiles and gave me some random answer. That's why I freaking worry about the screen.

I wonder if there's any screen protector for the lens? Lol. Well, maybe if it comes with filters too. Okay, I'm a newbie. I might ask stupid questions sometime. But, I'm really enjoying it. I'm not sure how good the filter is as I didn't take any pictures before putting it on the UV filter.

Nevertheless, I took some pictures and videos of the evening sky outside my apartment and I think it kinda looks good. I also tried out several settings, changing from auto to manual focus. Using the dial and the menu settings. The more I dabble with the camera, the more I learn how to use it.

You can check out the video here. The coolest part is when I thought I saw a bird flying near the top of the tree branch but it turns out to be a dragonfly. I was pretty excited as now, I get a chance to test the 83x zoom capability of the camera.

I had to play around with the manual and auto-focus as sometimes, it seems it won't focus during the auto. It was also kinda dark with the evening sky as the backdrop. But, it actually looks kinda beautiful with the dragonfly sitting on top of the tree branch.

I can imagine people using the dragonfly picture and putting some wise words. Like, I've said before, I can't draw but making art from photography is something I'm interested in. I just remembered that because I took the video in 4K, snipping pictures from the video won't degrade the picture quality.

The picture below is a snip from my youtube video. It was saved to 1080P from the original 4K video. So, the picture quality might not be that accurate. I didn't do any edit after I transfer from my camera to my laptop. The transfer took a couple of minutes.

I'm not sure if it's my laptop or my eyesight is going bad. It's hard to really see the quality of the pictures and videos I took. I prefer not to edit them. I'll end up messing around, testing the Nikon editing software, and wasting time. Lol.

I didn't save the pictures and videos in raw format. I just set it to normal jpeg. Unless I know I'm going to mess around with the pictures later. The thing is, I want it to look just the way they are. With all the imperfections. But, I definitely want it to be sharp and beautiful.

Also, normally, I'll frame the pictures a certain way to get what I wanted. I want my pictures as they are seen through my eyes. I'm still not sure about the zooming though. I'm wondering why I can't focus either during manual or auto. That's why I'm still dabbling around with the settings.

I still have a long way to learn but I'm in no hurry. This is like a new hobby for me. I've always wanted a camera of my own and this modern Nikon Coolpix P950 is so perfect for me. I might move on to other cameras once I gained enough knowledge and experience.

Nikon Coolpix P950 - Midnight View From My Window

Nikon COOLPIX P950 16MP 83x Optical Zoom Digital Camera (26532) USA Model Deluxe Bundle Kit -Includes- Sandisk 64GB SD Card + Large Camera Bag + Filter Kit + Spare Battery + Telephoto Lens + More

Hey guys,

Check it out!

I've been dabbling with the settings of my Nikon Coolpix P950 and I'm quickly learning how things work. There are certain things, I'm still discovering though. Like, when I took the midnight view video from my window, I think I could have used the dial on the left side of the camera to focus.

I should have left the settings to AF aka autofocus. I was wondering why the camera didn't autofocus at a certain area. I might have set it to manual earlier. That's why I don't like to meddle around and just left everything to Auto. Especially, when I'm trying to take a photo or video quickly.

The camera obviously comes with the manual booklet but I found the Nikon Coolpix P950 Online Manual website which is pretty useful. I spend most of my time on the computer and find it much easier to quickly search and read the online version.

In spite of that, I actually think the video capability is not bad. Although, when I look back, there seems to be a lot of noise. It's only after my edits and saving it to 1080p to upload to my youtube channel that the video is much sharper. Especially, with the low light.

I read an article yesterday that taking videos and pictures in 4K is much better. Even though the file size will be much bigger. One guy said that he took videos in 4K and then save it to 1080p for youtube. It's much better to downgrade from 4K as the quality will be much better.

I'm actually waiting for my SD card to arrive. I couldn't find one from the shops near my area. Nowadays, people prefer to use MicroSD cards. There is a lot of debate on which one is better for the camera. Temporarily, I'm using a MicroSD card with an SD adapter. Seems to work fine for me.

SanDisk 128GB Extreme MicroSDXC UHS-I Memory Card with Adapter - C10, U3, V30, 4K, A2, Micro SD - SDSQXA1-128G-GN6MA

MicroSD card technology has definitely improved. All thanks to social media. People are using their mobile phones to take quality pictures and videos for their Instagram, Facebook, and Youtube. Speed is important. I saw a video review where the speed of the SD and MicroSD cards seems to be on par.

In another video, I learned that for storage it's much better if you buy several smaller sizes instead of one whole big size. The reason being, you don't want to lose all your pictures and videos which you keep in that 256 or 512GB. That's a whole lot of projects to lose in one card.

SanDisk 128GB Extreme PRO SDXC UHS-I Card - C10, U3, V30, 4K UHD, SD Card - SDSDXXY-128G-GN4IN

For me, I believe, it's much better to use one card for one project. Like, if you're traveling to France for a holiday, just buy storage that's enough for that. If you're taking wildlife in the park, then buy one for it. You can then keep it stored in the card as a backup once you're done transferring, editing and uploading.

Personally, I have lost data from both the SD and MicroSD card. Maybe because of too much usage. It's more with the physical expect of it. Heck, last year, my freaking computer HDD died on me. That's almost 1TB of data. All my pictures, documents, videos, games, etc. Luckily, most of my photos and videos are up on Google photos.

I'm really enjoying learning and using my Nikon Coolpix P950. Like, I've said, I had wanted the P1000 for the 3000mm zoom. But, P950 83x zoom isn't that bad either. I'm still waiting for a good view of the moon from my apartment kitchen. That's my main aim for getting the P950.

Sometimes, the moon will seem so near and so big that I wanted to take picture of it. My smartphone isn't good enough. That's why I wanted the best camera that can zoom in and take good pictures. I'm still learning though. I had to re-take the midnight view video several times before I was satisfied.

I love the design and feel of the camera. It's a tad heavy but I guess, you'll get used to it. I used to be in the military infantry carrying my M203. It's a combination of the M16 Rifle and M203 Grenade launcher. I don't know why holding a camera reminds me of holding my weapon. Lol.

I'm also happy that my HP laptop is good enough and can be used without any kind of lag for transferring, editing videos, and uploading to youtube. I also tried the camera WIFI and Bluetooth connection and it works fine. Next, I'm downloading and trying out the Nikon Software!
