Nikon Coolpix P950 - UV Filter - Is that a dragonfly?

Hey guys,

Check it out!

Well, my K&F Concept UV filter and tempered glass LCD screen protector finally arrived. The 67mm filter fit nicely to my Nikon Coolpix P950 and so did my screen protector. I wasn't sure how to install the screen protector at first, and I think I made the mistake of peeling the adhesive too.

Lucky for me, there are two of them and only after doing a search on Google, I realized the type that I bought. Silly me. I thought I had to peel off everything. I might buy another set later on, but for now, as long as it's doing the job of protecting my LCD screen.

I remembered decades ago I saw a guy with a cracked LCD screen. I don't think he put any screen protector. I asked him, why didn't he send it for repair. He just smiles and gave me some random answer. That's why I freaking worry about the screen.

I wonder if there's any screen protector for the lens? Lol. Well, maybe if it comes with filters too. Okay, I'm a newbie. I might ask stupid questions sometime. But, I'm really enjoying it. I'm not sure how good the filter is as I didn't take any pictures before putting it on the UV filter.

Nevertheless, I took some pictures and videos of the evening sky outside my apartment and I think it kinda looks good. I also tried out several settings, changing from auto to manual focus. Using the dial and the menu settings. The more I dabble with the camera, the more I learn how to use it.

You can check out the video here. The coolest part is when I thought I saw a bird flying near the top of the tree branch but it turns out to be a dragonfly. I was pretty excited as now, I get a chance to test the 83x zoom capability of the camera.

I had to play around with the manual and auto-focus as sometimes, it seems it won't focus during the auto. It was also kinda dark with the evening sky as the backdrop. But, it actually looks kinda beautiful with the dragonfly sitting on top of the tree branch.

I can imagine people using the dragonfly picture and putting some wise words. Like, I've said before, I can't draw but making art from photography is something I'm interested in. I just remembered that because I took the video in 4K, snipping pictures from the video won't degrade the picture quality.

The picture below is a snip from my youtube video. It was saved to 1080P from the original 4K video. So, the picture quality might not be that accurate. I didn't do any edit after I transfer from my camera to my laptop. The transfer took a couple of minutes.

I'm not sure if it's my laptop or my eyesight is going bad. It's hard to really see the quality of the pictures and videos I took. I prefer not to edit them. I'll end up messing around, testing the Nikon editing software, and wasting time. Lol.

I didn't save the pictures and videos in raw format. I just set it to normal jpeg. Unless I know I'm going to mess around with the pictures later. The thing is, I want it to look just the way they are. With all the imperfections. But, I definitely want it to be sharp and beautiful.

Also, normally, I'll frame the pictures a certain way to get what I wanted. I want my pictures as they are seen through my eyes. I'm still not sure about the zooming though. I'm wondering why I can't focus either during manual or auto. That's why I'm still dabbling around with the settings.

I still have a long way to learn but I'm in no hurry. This is like a new hobby for me. I've always wanted a camera of my own and this modern Nikon Coolpix P950 is so perfect for me. I might move on to other cameras once I gained enough knowledge and experience.
