So, my birthday was last week and my nephew decided that we have grilled steak. It was actually the first time they tried it on the new portable electric grill and we didn't actually know how it works. I thought the grill would slide nicely to the slots below the grill. Apparently, not.

We end up just putting the grill on top of the heated coils. It does heat up pretty quickly. One thing to note is that the grill pan has open spaces where the whole thing might catch fire if you use butter or any kind of burning oils that falls to the heated coils.

Another thing to remember is there will obviously be smokes, so it's definitely much better if you have a backyard. We live in an apartment block, so we didn't have a choice. Especially, when the butter that we used catch fire. I had to tell my family not to make it worse by blowing at it.

I remember during my school days that something caught fire inside the class. I don't remember what it was but all the kids were either fanning or blowing at it, thinking the fire will be put out that way. No, my teacher reminds us that fire needs oxygen, and all that fanning and blowing is giving it oxygen!

Having a portable electric grill is pretty nifty. You can take it out and cook yourself a quick few steaks and enjoy hot lunch or dinner. You don't need gas or charcoal. It certainly doesn't give out many clouds of smoke and activate your sprinkler system if you have one in your house.

Personally, I like a 2-in-1 electric grill and soup cooker. You can cook yourself vegetable soups and also grill some fish or anything you like. Just eating steaks is a little dry for me. Of course, you can also put in ramen with your favorite ingredients.

This is also great when eating with friends and family in a small setting. Maybe, just celebrating your or your friend's birthday. Having a small gathering with neighbors. You can also bring it over to their house if the party is over there.

It's also easy to clean up after usage. As it comes with a non-stick pan. You also don't have to worry about all that black charcoals left over to clean up. All you have to do is put it aside to cool down and wipe it clean. You can wash it too but be careful if it's not waterproof.



My family actually going to finish up frozen steaks that we bought for dinner today. Not celebrating anything but just need to clear them before the expiry dates. We bought them to see how good the meat is and I don't have any complaints. 

We don't really eat meat often. But, it's a welcome treat once in a while. That's why it's great to have these indoor portable electric grills or the 2-in-1 soup. You don't have to worry about bad weather outside as you can have fun eating it together inside. It's totally worth getting one!

The thing is, there are some products that you can actually use even though there are no pandemics or natural disasters. So, you don't just keep it for like 10 years in a bunker somewhere. Personally, I've had gone through water rations and power outages before.

One time, we had a power outage while holidaying in Thailand. We were staying in a rented villa for a week. Luckily, we have the host phone number and called her. Before that, I already check if it was just a common power trip.

The host told us that it was kinda common for the power outage to happens. It was actually raining heavily that night. That might have caused the outage. Anyway, they soon got the power back up and we were all pretty relieved.

Almost all of us bring along our own power bank with power adapters. So, it's kinda useful to have. Especially, one that uses solar charge and has led torchlights. This just proves my point that shit can and will happen and thank God, we were a little prepared.

I don't remember if that villa had emergency lightings. But, having a light is important in times of emergency. One time our housing area had an outage and I was pretty relaxed. I actually just lay down in the dark as I know it'll be back up again, soon.
