My New Budget Indoor Exercise Cycling Spin Bike #exercisebike #indoorcyclingbike #indoorexercisebike

(All links will open up in a new tab.)

Hey guys,

Check it out!

Finally! I bought my first-ever indoor exercise bike. I've wanted one for a long time. I started cycling again after I got a job near my house. At the same time, Singapore has been building PCN aka Park Connector Network. Now, it's great fun to cycle the whole country.

Park hop, enjoy nature, and exercise at the same time. What's better than that? I have made many cycling videos, you can check them out on my YouTube channel here. I only learned about the PCN after I got interested in cycling again.

There are new networks and places I have yet to go. Sg has cycling parks and nature reserves you can visit even if you're not into cycling. Check out my Sungei Buloh Wetland Reserve pictures and videos I took with my Nikon Zfc and a 50-250mm Nikkor Zdx lens.

I didn't cycle there as it's quite far. However, I cycled to Woodlands Waterfront Park which is nearby. I went with a friend and we had fun checking the place out. If you're interested in bird photography, it's one of the places to go. There are only food and drink vending machines available.

After a vacation to Hatyai Thailand, my left knee got swollen again. Watch my vacation video here. I tried to be careful but it got worse and it's only after over five months that it got better. I couldn't bend my knee or walk properly and my foot got swollen.

Well, it did get better. I went cycling again and ended up swollen again. Watch my last cycling video before my knee got swollen again here. I planned just a short cycling distance. It looks near on the Google map. It's too far and I only reached home around midnight.

After quitting my job, the only way I can cycle regularly is to get an indoor cycling bike. I did some research and got one within my budget. They're all the same. Try to get one with a good offer or free gifts. Mine was delivered with a hole at the side and the box looks like it's been through a lot. Lol

There was a tear on the left handle and only one bubble wrap for the right handle which was weird. Everything else looks good and it was easy to set up. I could put a bottle holder on it. Mine didn't have a speedometer but included a cadence sensor that works with the "MyWhoosh" cycling app.

I have an Apple Watch Ultra. I use it when cycling and can now also use it for indoor cycling. It checks my timing, heart rate, and calories burned. I link it to my iPhone and Strava. Pretty nifty. There are many free cycling music and videos on YouTube.

I decided to make my own indoor cycling music and videos. Check 'em out here! Since I already have many cycling videos I can use them. I also just converted another cycling video here. The first one is a 40-minute range, while the second is a short 9 minutes.

I'm really enjoying my new indoor cycling bike. I'm able to maintain a certain level of fitness. It's a low-impact exercise for my bad knees.

Is SINGAPORE becoming a cycling haven? #cycling #roadbike #mountainbike #gravelbike

Schwinn GTX Comfort Adult Hybrid Bike, Men and Women, Dual Sport Bicycle, 700c Wheels, Step-Through or Step-Over Lightweight Aluminum Frame

(Note: All links will open up in a new tab.)

Hey guys,

Check it out!

Is Singapore becoming a cycling haven?

It is. I recently started cycling because I found a new work near my place. Rather than walking to a nearby bus stop, waiting another 5-7 mins for the bus to come, and reaching 7 mins later, cycling would be a much better option.

I can walk to work but it'll take over 20mins. The best alternative is of course cycling. It's much faster and most importantly, I'll save around $80/mth. There are also health benefits of cycling to work every day. I have definitely improved my overall fitness.

The good news is that Singapore is starting to provide better cycling lanes for cyclists. The old pathway is getting wider and there's a clearly painted lane. Pedestrians don't have to worry about getting hit by reckless cyclists. They even provide special lanes at the traffic lights.

People are still getting used to the separate lanes. Some pedestrians insist on walking on the cycling lane. And vice versa. Hopefully, with more cycling lanes, more people will start to cycle either for health or as another form of eco-friendly transportation.

At first, I just cycled my bike to work every day. Later on, once I got my confidence, I decided to venture out during my off day. I planned to go to a famous place called the Lor Halus Red Bridge. As it was my first time, I had to ask people for directions.

I frequently stop by the bridge before continuing to other places like Pasir Rish Beach or Changi Beach. The other day, I tried a new cycling route called the Eastern Corridor. As it was my first time trying out the route, I got lost numerous times. Some of the routes lead to a dead end.

Google Maps is your friend. I used it when I went out cycling to new places. I'll re-calibrate my position and choose a different route. For those wanting to try out the new route, follow the river. That's my tip. It is also quite far. Look out for the route signage.

You can watch my cycling video using the eastern corridor trail to East Coast Beach here. You can also watch all my other cycling videos cycling to such places via the links in this post. Of course, you can visit my YouTube channel here for more cycling videos.

One of my favorite places to cycle to is Coney Island. A nice, quiet place to cycle, walk, jog, or enjoy the beautiful beach scenery. Remember, that you have to leave the place by 7pm. As they will close the gate. You are not allowed to stay overnight.

There are two entrances on each end of the tiny island. From the western gate, you can cycle to a nearby Punggol jetty or boardwalk. From there, you can cycle back to Sengkang Riverside Park or continue to the last fishing village, Sembawang Park, Woodlands Waterfront Park, or jetty.

Well, what do you think? Is Singapore becoming a cyclist haven? There are some places yet that I have never been to. Ketam Mountain Bike Park in Pulau Ubin, Chestnut Nature Park, Bukit Timah Bike Trail, and many others. All in this tiny Island country. lol

Cycling has also made me interested in photography and videography. I'll be talking about it in another post. You can check out one of my photography adventures in this video. My first ever camera was the Nikon P950. One of my pictures has almost been viewed by millions on Google Maps!

Watch my latest new carbon hybrid gravel bike with a straight handlebar video here. My new Chili red mountain bike here. My new fixie aero design GRAY here. And, my JAVA J AIR Fuoco gold road bike here!

Easy to say, cycling has made me enjoy the outdoors. It also helps that Singapore is becoming a cycling haven!

this could be the last time i ride a bike #gravelbike #mountainbike #roadbike

Hey guys,

Check it out!

This could be the last time I ride a bike. It's been almost two months and I still can't bend my left knee. Maybe, I'm getting old. It used to heal after over a week or so. But, after I came back from my thailand holiday, it won't heal. I can't even cycle to work anymore.

My last ride was last month. I've wanted to test-ride my new carbon fiber hybrid gravel bike. I also wanted to try out a new cycling route. Before that, it had been over a month since I had cycled. The route back was too far, over 65km.

Steadyrack Bike Racks - Fender Rack - Wall Mounted Bike Rack Storage Solution for Your Home, Garage, or Bike Park - 2 Pack

As I haven't done any cycling for over a month because of my knee problem, I started to strain and cramps. I walked for a while pushing my bike till able to cycle again. I should have tested the bike before attempting the long route.

The seat was too high and my wrist started to feel pain. I already had a problem with my wrists. When I had covid, I had high fevers and it attacked all my joints. It's like it knows I've been having problems with them. Guess, when you're getting old, it all comes back to haunt you.

I've been using oilments, inflammation gel, and knee joint supplements. It works at first. That's how I was able to test-ride my new bike gravel bike. But, I've been struggling to heal my left knee again after that long ride. Was I wrong to overstrain my legs too early?

Maybe, so. Now, I have to bear the consequences. I might have taken my knee problem too lightly. In fact, now, my feet are swollen. I don't even know why. It's not the first time I've had a swollen foot. It's because I've been kicking things when I was angry before.

Well, if you've kicked a wooden chair, you'll know it's gonna get swollen. But, I didn't even do anything. That's why, I'm perplexed. Yesterday, I remembered my late dad had the same swollen foot problem. And, it's because of diabetes

I'm wondering if I have diabetes or even gout? The old man at work told me I might have gout. He advised me to have a blood test. My friend said maybe it's gout too. I don't know anything about diabetes or gout. The last thing I want to do is see a doctor or a knee specialist.

So much for cycling as a form of low-impact exercise. Now, I can't even bend my left knee anymore. The thing is, I did start to feel pain in both my knees and the strain around it. Though I cycled to work every day, it wasn't that far. I was getting fitter and able to cycle far and up slopes.

To be clear, I already had a problem with my knees even before I started cycling again. I trained in TKD, played soccer, did gym, and joined the military. It was only after I started working that I stopped doing any kind of exercise. I even had a slipped disc.

Anyway, I hope my knee will get better and I can start to ride again. Missing it!

Is Cycling the Ultimate Exercise? #cycling #cyclinglife #cyclinglifestyle

Hey guys,

Check it out!

Is cycling the ultimate exercise?

Well, for someone with bad knees, it's certainly one of the best low-impact exercises I can do without worry. Recently, my left knee kept giving me problems. I'll wake up feeling pain and not being able to bend it. After putting on some gel and taking vitamins, it'll be alright.

The next morning, it'll happen again. Maybe, I'm getting old. Things we used to do when we were young and healthy. Just a distant memory. lol. Right at the time, when I discovered the joy of cycling again. However, I can still go hiking and photography.

To quickly answer the question is cycling the ultimate exercise? For me, is yes. Some may say, it's swimming. I used to see old men and women slowly doing laps with the frog style. I wish I could swim like them. But, for some reason even after doing lessons, I can't.

I believe it's because I have short breath. Ok, maybe I just suckz at swimming. An added plus to cycling is that I love cycling to places with beautiful scenery. I love the greenery and the sound of birds or bugs. I love the beautiful quiet beaches where there's nobody else but me.

Cycling is such a joy for the young and old. Sometimes, I felt like a kid again when cycling. It's also a great adventure. Some people like to cycle to faraway countries or just nearby. You can also cycle and camping. Like I've said, I love to cycle and do some photography.

Night or day, it all depends on you. I have friends who invited me to go cycling at night. I very much prefer cycling in the day. Yes, it's hot. But, you can't see much at night. Sometimes, it's already night by the time I reach home. It's also dangerous as certain places don't have good lighting.

My main reason for cycling is to exercise and lose some weight. I also wanted to maintain some level of fitness. I used to cycle to work and at the last part, before I reached work, I had to climb a little slope. I called it my 'little slope of hell'.

I'm always almost out of breath when I reach the top of the slope. I wasn't able to cycle to the top in the first few months. It wasn't until I bought myself a foldable mountain bike with better gear ratios that I did it. Even then, if I don't feel well, I would just push it up the damn slope.

One thing strange is that it was easy going up the slope using a fixie. When I tried riding up the slope it was rather easy although it's just using a single speed. I'm wondering if it's because of the direct link from the crank to the tires.

There was also another time that I had to climb a rather steep slope which wasn't there before. It used to be a straight flat route but a diversion was made. I was afraid of my knees because I rarely stood up on my bike. To me, a fixie is a great bike to train up power in your legs.

insta360 x3 4K test ride my new carbon fiber hybrid straight handlebar gravel bike

Hey guys,

Check it out!

I couldn't test my new carbon fiber hybrid straight handlebar gravel bike for over a month because I had a problem with my left knee. Now, that it got better, I decided to try a new cycling route with it. Then again, I shouldn't have?

It was quite a distance and I started to have cramps before reaching it. I should have tested it before going for the long ride. Turn out, the seat was too high. I began to have neck and wrist pains because of it. Other than that, the bike works really well!

I wasn't sure about not having a front suspension but the tyres make it up for it. People kept asking me what the tire's size and I told them it was 700x40c. The aero design makes it a smooth fast ride. Well, that's what I'm assuming anyway.

I've said this in my other post but I love the smooth carbon fiber frame. I'm lucky that I didn't scratch it when I fell. Hurt my left knee but I continue to cycle back home. Going up-slope was a breeze as the 11-speed cassette gear Sram change worked well.

I'm not a strong rider and haven't cycled for a month, I didn't want to over-exert myself. As a mostly leisurely urban rider, hybrid bikes work well. I can go on gravel, pathways, dirt roads, and whatever. I have a slip disc, hence I opt for a straight handlebar. It also offers better control.

This is my first time using a full hydraulic brake and I like it. Works well, so far. Maybe, too well. I almost, fly over the bar when I pulled an emergency brake. Need to get used to it. I'm not sure how to maintain it though. When the time comes, I'll learn then.

The carbon fiber frame is pretty light too. If I remember, it's around over 9kg. It feels rigid and strong. I didn't measure the handlebar length but it seems wide and comfortable enough for me. I don't have any preferences. As long as it's 720mm and below.

The bike frame is designed like a road bike so they're using a bike stem with cable running through it. It makes the bike look clean and smooth. But, it came out via the stem to the brakes and shifter. I didn't check what kind of shifter they installed and had to adjust the location for my thumb easy reach.

As a whole, I'm really satisfied with the bike. Love the design, glossy white color, great brakes, and shifters. Feels good to hold the handlebar with PU leather bike grips. The 700x40c tires are very comfortable to ride on too.

I'm hoping my knee will get well soon so that I can go ride my new carbon hybrid gravel bike again. Such a joy!

my new carbon fibred hybrid straight handlebar gravel bike #hybridbike

Hey guys,

Check it out!

I decided to finally get myself a gravel hybrid bike. I searched around and finally decided to get the first version of the Twitter V1. You can get it from their main online store shop @ Aliexpress here. They actually have the latest version but didn't have the white color.

Even though this hybrid bike is the first version, I love the smooth and aero design. The white version is really nice. I also opt for a straight handlebar instead of a drop bar. I have a slip disc and everyone keeps telling me, I should get a bike with a straight bar instead.

It is more comfortable to sit up straight rather than hunch over. But, sometimes, I'll miss the drop bar when I want to go for speed. Feels more comfortable holding the drop compared to just a straight bar. Anyway, it's not as if I don't have a road bike

Above are some of the photos I took while unboxing and fixing the bike. I didn't have to do much as the back tire was already fixed and probably tuned. The handlebar was already fixed with the front and rear brakes. The front tire was straightforward.

I had to cut the seatpost around an inch as it was too high for me. Changed the seat to a white color by West Biking. It's an 11-speed with 700x40c thick tires. Full hydraulic brakes which is my first. I worry about the maintenance. Carbon fiber frame and fork. SRAM NX-11S. SUNSHINE-11S,11-42T.

I haven't test-ridden the bike yet as my left knee still giving me problems. Already been a month. I can bend my knee but there's still pain so, it's not totally healed. I don't think it will ever heal as I feel it could easily be twisted. That's why I have to be careful just doing everyday things.

I'm trying out some knee-joint vitamins and hope it'll help heal my problematic knees. Maybe, I'll go out cycling again by the weekend or next week. Been feeling kinda bored after a month of non-cycling activity. I'm also thinking of going hiking at my local nature parks.

My new Mountain bike seat #mtb #mountainbike #bikeseat

Venzo Comfortable Bike Bicycle Saddle Seat - for MTB, Road, Exercise, Trekking, Folding, Hybrid & Cruiser Bikes - XC Saddle Seat

Hey guys,

Check it out!

I got myself a new bike seat for my new mountain bike that I ordered last week. It hasn't arrived yet. But, I already bought some new parts that I will be changing. I love to customize my bike with parts that have better design and style. I don't really care for brands with generic boring designs.

The one that I bought was the last in stock. It will fit in nicely with the red color theme of my new bike. I don't have the big money to buy those expensive bikes. Though it's a budget bike, still looks cool and has full suspension, front and back.

Venzo Comfortable Bike Bicycle Saddle Seat - for MTB, Road, Exercise, Trekking, Folding, Hybrid & Cruiser Bikes - XC Saddle Seat

I can't wait for my new mountain bike to arrive. At the same time, I feel kinda sad to sell my over-a-year Raleigh bike. It's a good budget bike but I needed to save cash and space. Guess, it's time for a change in 2024. I actually also bought myself a new Fixie bike

I'm beginning to love riding a fixie. I didn't think I could ride far on a single-speed bike but I did. Went up a couple of slopes with no problem. And, I have bad knees. I don't want to hurt my knees further, especially at my age now. I've fallen a couple of times and parts of my body still hurt a year later.

6KU Fixie Urban Track Bike

Cycling is fun and helps improve your health. I cycle to work every day and always dread having to cycle over a little slope before reaching my workplace. But, I think even though it's just a short distance it helps my overall fitness. To the point that I needed to rest my legs.

I'm already feeling some strains on my thigh. Once in a while, I'll feel a little sharp pain in my left knee. My right knee seems to be getting better. Riding a single-speed bike does put some stress on your knees too. As you're always cycling without stopping and when going up steep slopes.

TOSUOD Bike Seat Comfortable Bicycle Saddle for Women Men Wide Bicycle Seat Cushion Memory Foam Padded Soft Bike Seat Saddle Universal Fit for Peloton Exercise Stationary Bikes Indoor Outdoor Bikes

Nowadays, there are many good bike seats much more bigger and comfortable. Pretty much depends on your preferences. For long-distance riders, having a good bike seat is important. Having more cushion or if you prefer thinner than you can always wear cycling shorts with pads.

You don't want to wake up tomorrow after a long ride with a sore bum. Most experienced riders will know what I'm talking about. I'm not a pro cycling nor even an amateur. I'm just a leisure cyclist. I like to cycle to places with nice views so I can take nice pictures with my camera or mobile phone.

NEXTCOVER® Bike Seat with Memory Foam 2.0 and [Volume-Air] Suspension I Maximum Riding Comfort I Bike seat Cushion for Men & Women I Mountain Bike Saddle, Road Bike Seat, Bicycle Seat

I'm a leisurely cyclist but I still need a good bike seat because it will get uncomfortable for long distances. That's why even with a good bike seat, I still wear cycling shorts with a pad. A pro cyclist who cycles long distances every day would have a better seat and cycling shorts.

You have to sort out yourself which type of bike seat you prefer. It doesn't matter if it's just a short distance away but if you're going to be cycling for hours you better get it right. With so many choices available in the market today. You definitely can find the right one for yourself.

a nice day ride on my new fixie fixed gear single speed bike #fixie

Superteam 88mm Carbon Clincher Fixed Gear Bike Wheelset 23mm Single Speed Wheel

Hey guys,

Check it out!

So, I didn't plan to go out cycling yesterday as the weather forecast says, it gonna rain the whole day. Well, it did rain in the morning but then it got sunny. I decided to take the chance and went out cycling on my new fixie aka fixed gear, single-speed bike.

It was a little cloudy but with a bit of nice blue sky. A little hot but just enough to have a good ride out. It did rain in the evening but I was lucky to be home by then. I'm a little surprised cycling on my fixed-gear bike. Thinking, it will be a bit tough with just a single gear. Boy, was I wrong!

Superteam 88mm Carbon Clincher Fixed Gear Bike Wheelset 23mm Single Speed Wheel

I went on my usual cycling route, stopping at my usual places. Some certain bridges and areas have been worked on. There's a part where it's supposed to be a straight route but turns out I had to climb a little steep slope. Didn't think, I would be able to climb on my fixie but I actually did.

I have bad knees, so naturally, I was hesitant to do any hard climbing. I did wear a knee guard for my left knee. That's what is so surprising. My first thought was that, since I cycled to work and always had to pass my little 'slope of hell' every day, I inadvertently trained myself, enough.

Schwinn Kedzie Single-Speed Fixie Road Bike, Lightweight Frame for City Riding

Cycling to work every day has helped me maintain some level of fitness. Cycling is basically the only exercise I do. lol. Although the distance was short, I always had to huff and puff near the end because of my little 'slope of hell'. Also came with the price of having a strained hamstring and knees.

Cycling is supposed to be a low-impact exercise, especially for the knees but it seems to make my knees worse. A couple of weeks ago, I couldn't ride my bike much less walk because it hurts. The knee joints rubbing against each other. Thankfully, it got better after I used medicated oil daily on it.

CYSKY Single Speed Crankset Set 60T 170mm Crankarms 130 BCD Fixie Crankset for Single Speed Bike, Fixed Gear Bicycle, Track Road Bike (Square Taper, Black)

I also decided to buy some vitamins that actually help maintain my knees better. Sometimes, if I forget to take them, I can feel my knees starting to hurt again. Now, I realize that knee joint vitamins do help make them better. So, I try to take them daily.

I love my Apple Watch Ultra and iPhone health app. Now, I'm not walking, hiking, or riding blind. I know so far my highest heart rate was 157BPM. Yesterday, my overall cycling distance was 23.9km. I did have a couple of stops and didn't really push myself except for some of those slopes.

6KU Track Fixed Gear Bicycle

I really had a fun day cycling on my new fixie that I've mod myself. I changed new wheelsets, handlebars, pedals, cranksets, bike stems, etc. To finally be able to ride it was an awesome feeling. I'm glad, I decided to go out cycling. Cycling always makes me happy and alive!

Check out some of my fixie pics below:

Riding a fixie is really fun!

Another reason I think that I could actually climb slopes is because of the fixed gear. Which is directly connected to the crankset and to the wheelsets. I can feel the strong tire gripping the ground. Of course, it helps that my knees didn't buckle. Though, I did feel a little strained near the end of my ride.

For the life of me, I still can't do a skid on my fixie. I'm afraid to stand up because of my bad knees. I need to ride more on my fixie before I start to learn to do some simple skills. I'm still a fixie newbie. Still learning about my new bike. One thing is for sure, a fixie is really a cool bike to ride!

it took me 9 mins cycling on my java j air fuoco gold road bike from punggol park to lor halus red bridge

Seraph Chameleon Paint Superlight Carbon Fiber Road Racing Bike Bicycle Frame

Hey guys,

Check it out!

I have cycled to lor halus (google map) from punggol park (google map) a couple of times and was wondering how fast can I ride straight without stopping on my new Java J Air Fuoco road bike. I'm not a pro or even young. I have two bad knees and a slipped disc. My tummy won't allow me to go aero.

I'm still new to the bike and playing around with the 22-speed while cycling. I do cycles on my mountain bike to and fro from my house to work daily. So, I at least have some level of fitness. According to my Strava, I managed to reach the bridge which is 3.51km within 9:08 mins.

Seraph Chameleon Paint Superlight Carbon Fiber Road Racing Bike Bicycle Frame

I do believe someone younger and fitter could get even lower timing. But, you'll have to be careful and watch your speed sometimes because there are many other cyclists and joggers blocking your way. Some like to hog the lane as if they own it.

My stats on Strava shows that my average speed was 23.1km/h. Avg Power is 207W. Frankly, I didn't really want to push myself harder as I've said, I'm not a pro or young. I have to take care not to hurt my knees and back further. That's why I believe someone could do a better timing.

ICAN AERO Disc Series Carbon Disc Road Bike Wheelset 700C Center Lock Superlight Bicycle Rimset 10/11 Speed Shiman0/SR.AM XDR Freehub

If you're wondering, I used my GoPro Hero 10 to record this video. Someone asked me about the action camera the other day and I'm totally recommending it. I've had no issues taking videos and even pictures. You can check some of the videos I took on my youtube channel here.

I also told the guy about the Insta360 camera. He wasn't really interested in it. His mind seems set on the GoPro. He told me that some people complain about Hero10 and some say stick with Hero9. I told him, not to listen to what people 'think' too much and just go for whichever camera he wanted.

Insta360 X3 Ultimate Kit - Waterproof 360 Action Camera with 1/2" 48MP Sensors, 5.7K 360 Active HDR Video, 72MP 360 Photo, 4K Single-Lens, 60fps Me Mode, Stabilization, 2.29" Touchscreen, AI Editing

The fact of the matter is that every product has its pros and cons. You work through those. I had fun with my GoPro but then I did the mistake of putting a bloated battery inside it and got stuck. I did get it out but now it's not working. I'll send it for repair later, one day.

I decided to get the Insta360 because I was intrigued by the ability to hide the selfie stick. I didn't understand how it work at first as the holder keeps showing and blocking the view. I thought I needed software or the stick I got was a cheap fake. Turn out, I needn't put an extra camera adapter on it.

GoPro HERO11 Black - Waterproof Action Camera with 5.3K60 Ultra HD Video, 27MP Photos, 1/1.9" Image Sensor, Live Streaming, Webcam, Stabilization

You just need to put the Insta360 camera on the stick and you don't even need to turn it towards you when taking video. It'll take a 360 view of the surrounding area and you can choose and edit the frame later. You don't need to take several different views or angle shots. Really cool!

My friends and family were asking and wondering how I took a back-view video of me cycling. Of course, I just need to put the selfie stick behind me by using the bike frame clamp. The way the 360 camera works, the blind spot under the camera won't show the stick. Voila!

I'm really beginning to love the Insta360 X3 camera. And, there's even free video editing software and more free cool features you can add to your video. They have several other products too. Depends on what you're going for and need. I'll be making more videos with the X3 so subscribe to my channel!
