My mom likes to use her tablet to video call her daughter with Whatsapp. Before WhatsApp exist, they seldom talk on the phone. My mom doesn't like to use messaging. Once, she discovers Whatsapp she finds it easier to video call.

Video calling is cheaper with Wifi and video quality has definitely improved throughout the years. She also uses it to surf Facebook, watches youtube videos sometimes and plays her favorite game like pou and candy crush!

Of course, she can do all that with her latest Samsung Note 10+ phone. But, she always needs to charge her phone when returning home from work. So, she normally uses her tablet instead. A year or two ago, I bought her the iPad 9.7-inch tablet. But, she's so used to her android tablet, she prefers using it.
