my S22 plus Samsung Dex with dex pad to monitor kitchen table setup

SAMSUNG Galaxy S22 Ultra Smartphone, Factory Unlocked Android Cell Phone, 128GB, 8K Camera & Video, Brightest Display, S Pen, Long Battery Life, Fast 4nm Processor, US Version, Burgundy

Hey guys,

Check it out!

I bought a new kitchen table and thought I'll re-set up and use my old dex pad linking to a monitor that I already have on the wall. I had to search around for my USB-A to USB-C cable and just re-used the HDMI cable to connect.

The Dex pad still works fine even after not using it, I think, for almost 3 years. I even forget that I can connect my wired mouse and keyboard to it. If you don't want messy cables, Bluetooth is the way to go. But, if you already have an extra mouse and keyboard, might as well use 'em.

A couple years back, I tested my dex pad with a portable monitor, using it as a PC or laptop. I was testing it with my Samsung S10 or was it the S10 plus. You can connect the Xbox controller via Bluetooth and play some games that have controller support.

I haven't checked out any new latest mobile games but games that have controller support are far and few between back then. Games that do are fun to play with a real controller instead of the touch. Though the funny thing is now, I don't mind touch control.

Xbox Core Wireless Controller + USB-C Cable – Carbon Black

Remember, you can only use an Xbox controller that has Bluetooth you can connect to your phone. Those old controller doesn't have them. Some of my youtube channel video viewers didn't know that. Asking me how I connect to my phone.

That is one of the reasons I like android phones. I especially like Samsung because of  Samsung Dex and the dex pad. But, now you don't need a dex pad to connect to a computer or laptop. But, if you want to connect to a Tv or monitor, you'll need something like the dex pad.

Samsung DeX Pad Desktop Experience for Samsung Galaxy Note8, GS8, GS8+, GS9, and GS9+ W/ Fast Charge USB-C Wall Charger (US Version with Warranty)

Samsung actually had the Ubuntu for Android project but they shelve it later on. It was pretty interesting and fun to play around with. You can check out my video for Linux on dex beta here. Too bad you can't play with them anymore.

Razer Project Linda was interesting too. You can use the Razer phone which doesn't exist anymore and use it with a laptop shell. Razer shelves their mobile department. Not sure why. I kinda like it. But, it had lots of problems. You can check out my unboxing video here.

SAMSUNG Galaxy S22+ Smartphone, Factory Unlocked Android Cell Phone, 256GB, 8K Camera & Video, Brightest Display, Long Battery Life, Fast 4nm Processor, US Version, Green

There was a Samsung DexBook aka lapdock concept that looks pretty cool. You can check out the video I did on it here. The website that hosts the concept doesn't exist anymore though. Too bad, Samsung wasn't interested to create it. I would have bought it.

I created a poll asking if anyone would be interested in it and got a good response. Samsung decided to create a laptop that's more mobile. I think they used a mobile processor. I don't understand why there's no big company interested in a lap dock. The Linda Project and Samsung DexBook were a cool idea!

Will they sell? I'm pretty sure it will. Mobile phones are getting more powerful. Even on par with some laptops. Okay, not those high-end gaming laptops. Everyone has a mobile phone. They use it for pretty much everything nowadays. Why not create a lapdock to expand its usage?

What do you guys think?

Dirt Showdown Live Stream gameplay (edited)

OMEN - GT13-0090 30L Gaming Desktop PC, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3090 Graphics Card, 10th Generation Intel Core i9-10850K Processor, 32 GB RAM, 1 TB SSD, Windows 10 Home (GT13-0090, 2020) Shadow black

Hey guys,

Check it out!

I love the Dirt series racing game and one of them is Dirt Showdown. I've been wanting to do a live gaming stream of the game and finally did it. I've done a couple of other live gaming streams before but this time, I also wanted to try out the chat feature too.

I know, I should have put a schedule first but like I said, it's kind of a test for the chat feature and also I'm not sure which is the best time to stream. Especially, if you're not sure what's the timezone for other countries. It was also at the spur of the moment to stream.

2021 Latest ELUK OMEN 30L NVIDIA RTX 3090 Gaming Desktop PC (RGB Liquid Cooled Intel i9-10850K, Z490 Mobo, 750 Watt Platinum PSU, Windows 10 Pro, 1TB NVMe SSD + 2TB HDD, 32GB HyperX RGB RAM)

The other day, I did a quick research on how to stream gameplay and putting a video of myself playing on my HP laptop. I think, having multiple monitors is useful. You need a window for your gameplay and another monitor to control your streaming.

It's a little cramp if you only using one monitor for everything. It definitely was, if I wanted to stream from my laptop. Also, since my laptop is not a gaming laptop and only has AMD Radeon Rx Vega 10 mobile graphics and 8GB of Ram, the Mass Effects game I was playing, lag badly.

ASUS ROG Zephyrus Duo SE 15 Gaming Laptop, 15.6” 300Hz IPS Type FHD Display, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070, AMD Ryzen 9 5900HX, 32GB DDR4, 1TB PCIe SSD, Per-Key RGB Keyboard, Windows 10 Pro, GX551QR-XS98

If you have the money or a professional streamer, the Asus ROG Zephyrus DUO SE with a second monitor would be perfect. Although, if I'm not wrong, they don't include a webcam for video calling or streaming. That means you'll have to get an external streaming webcam.

For something that's pretty expensive, why didn't they include a webcam? One of their video commenters noted that especially in a pandemic where it's obviously needed. Well, somebody asked about the camera on their store page and it's confirmed the laptop doesn't have it. Weird.

Trio Max Portable Monitor for Laptop, 14.1" Full HD IPS Display, Dual or Triple Laptop Monitor Screen, Dual-Side Sliding, USB A/Type-C Plug and Play Monitor for 13”-17” Laptops(1x 14.1 Monitor)

I'm already using 3 monitors for my desktop setup. But, I don't have an external webcam. Never thought I needed one. I might get one if I'm going to do streaming. When I'm using my laptop, I kinda miss how I can multi-task on separate monitors.

That's when I realized how useful the portable monitor is. I actually bought my first portable monitor for my Samsung S10+. The Samsung Dex with using the Dex pad or just a USB C cable to turn your mobile phone into a computer.

Portable Monitor - Lepow 15.6 Inch Computer Display 1920×1080 Full HD IPS Screen USB C Gaming Monitor with Type-C Mini HDMI for Laptop PC MAC Phone Xbox PS4, Include Smart Cover & Screen Protector

What I like about using the portable monitor is that you can use a USB cable to power it. You can plug it into your laptop or computer USB port. It also doesn't use a lot of power. But, it's better to get one that uses a USB C cable instead of the mini USB.

My latest portable monitor uses a USB C to connect to power and it has no problem starting up. While the other one that uses the mini USB cable is very sensitive and turns on and off by itself pretty often. That's why I'm advocating that every device should be standardized to use the USB C. It's more stable.

ASUS ROG Zephyrus Duo Gaming Laptop, 15.6" UHD 4K Gsync + Secondary Display, Core i9-10980HK, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2080 Super, 32GB DDR4, 2TB RAID 0, Thunderbolt 3, Wi-Fi 6, Win10 Pro, GX550LXS-XS99

I really like to try the Asus Duo gaming laptop. Not just because there's the latest one with RTX 30 series graphic cards but to check out the second monitor. If you're a multi-tasker, a second monitor is pretty useful. It definitely, be useful for streaming since you'll have a 2nd monitor for control or chat.

Again, they need to include a webcam. Streaming, especially on the go is pretty useful. That is if you can find a good wifi connection of course. You also don't want to have to add more accessories to your already heavy laptop.

I also like to connect my mobile phone to my laptop and desktop and it's useful to have them on separate windows. So, I can do my stuff on the main screen while at the bottom, I can reply to my Whatsapp or check out FB and Twitter notifications. Pretty nifty!

Samsung Dexbook aka Lap dock - Will Samsung ever make it?

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 2 5G | Factory Unlocked Android Cell Phone | 256GB Storage | US Version Smartphone Tablet | 2-in-1 Refined Design, Flex Mode | Mystic Bronze

Hey guys,

Check it out!

I made the video above around April 15, 2019. There's a website that shows a concept Samsung Dexbook. It doesn't exist anymore. Not sure why they delete it. It looks pretty cool and a lot of people were actually interested in it.

It's kinda like the Razer concept lap dock for their Razer phone. You can watch the video "Project Linda", here. That would have been my mobile computing wet dream. But, for some reason, they discontinue the phone and didn't create the lap dock.

HP V8H07UT Elite X3 Lap Dock

I even created a poll that people can vote by following the URL >> Do you want Samsung DexBook lap dock polls. Yes or No? Vote: https://linkto.run/p/TQVDUJL8 - So far, 100% says, Yes! Follow the link to vote if you want it.

The thing is, Samsung has Samsung Dex included with their latest phones. That means you can link your phone to a Tv or a portable monitor and use your phone as a desktop or laptop. It's not just plain mirroring your phone but with a full desktop UI or user interface.

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 2 5G | Factory Unlocked Android Cell Phone | 256GB Storage | US Version Smartphone Tablet | 2-in-1 Refined Design, Flex Mode | Mystic Bronze

Nowadays, the phone is already like a portable computer right in your pocket. You bring it everywhere and use it for communication, work, and play. Everything is pretty much centered around your device. With a Dex pad or a USB C cable, you can now view your data on a bigger screen with mouse and keyboard support.

Samsung has even updated their mobile CPU with the latest Exynos 2100. Fast internet with 5G. Powerful CPU and GPU. As a Youtuber and Blogger, all that power will make my jobs much better and easier. Better pictures, 8K videos, on the spot video editing, and quick uploading.

Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra 5G | Factory Unlocked Android Cell Phone | US Version 5G Smartphone | Pro-Grade Camera, 8K Video, 108MP High Res | 256GB, Phantom Black

Samsung Dexbook or a lap dock for the Galaxy phone will definitely enhance the phone. Yes, I already tried it with a portable monitor and a dex pad. But, guess what? It's kinda a hassle to set it up and to keep it after use.

I actually wish I have something like the HP X3 lap dock. It's not meant for the Samsung phone but it does work. Not really perfect but it's much better than the mess of a portable monitor and a dex pad. Unless you set it up to be permanent.

Samsung Galaxy Book Ion 15.6” Laptop| QLED Display and Intel Core i7 Processor | 8GB Memory | 512GB SSD | Long Battery Life and Windows 10 Operating System | (NP950XCJ-K01US)

Samsung has instead created a laptop that will work with their phones. You can link to it via a USB C hub or cable and even charge your phone by putting it on top of the touchpad. Pretty nifty, I must admit. And, you also have the best of both worlds. A Microsoft Windows 10 laptop and Android OS.

The thing is, mobile computing needs a niche of its own. Android OS also has improved. I actually used to hate it. Because back then I loved iOS. It's an alternative to Windows or even Linux. It's now fast, smooth and there's already a plethora of games and apps.

So, why not have something like the Dexbook? You use it as a phone for taking pictures and videos and when you want to edit it on a bigger screen with mouse and keyboard support you just dock it into your lap dock. At the same time, charging it. You don't even need a Windows laptop or desktop anymore.

Now that's what I call pure mobile computing!

Magnifier Screen for Mobile Devices & Nintendo Switch lite!

12" Screen Magnifier –3D HD Mobile Phone Magnifier Projector Screen for Movies, Videos, and Gaming–Foldable Phone Stand with Screen Amplifier–Supports All Smartphones(Black)

Hey guys,

Check it out!

I've seen these mobile screen magnifiers before and thought it's kinda silly. They're just using a magnifying glass to enlarge the screen of your mobile device. I wonder if it's even any good. Although, when I read reviews some actually like it.

Now, I realized that maybe, I could use the screen magnifier for my Nintendo Switch lite. You can't dock your Switch lite to a Tv or portable monitor, unlike its sister. So, maybe, I can use it for my Switch lite. That will be very useful indeed. Also, it's pretty cheap.

Phone Screen Magnifier 12" Screen Magnifier for Cell Phone Smart Phone Screen Magnifier, 3D HD Mobile Phone Screen Magnifier for Movies, Videos Phone Stand with Screen Amplifier for All Phones+Remote

I decided to get one with a folder/stand. Going for the 12-inch screen magnifying size. When it arrived, it actually looks kinda small. But, it's definitely bigger than my Samsung Note 10+ and Nintendo Switch lite screen.

One thing for sure, it's not as good as a portable monitor. Which you can use to link to your mobile. But, they're not as cheap as the mobile screen magnifier. If you don't mind that, then the screen magnifier is pretty nifty to have.

12" Curve Screen Magnifier –3D HD Mobile Phone Magnifier Projector Screen for Movies, Videos, and Gaming–Foldable Phone Stand with Screen Amplifier–Supports All Smartphones (Black)

People shouldn't be a fool in thinking the pictures of the product are on full screen and the image are that sharp. If anyone has used a magnifying glass before, they should expect the same kind of experience when buying the screen magnifier.

If you lower down your expectation then you might actually enjoy using the magnifier. There was a certain point of my test that I see the image is not that bad and actually looks kinda clear and bigger. Definitely much better, if you're watching in a dark room at night.

12" 3D Mobile Phone Screen Magnifier, Anti-Blue Light Expander Magnifying Phone Screen Amplifier for Movies, Videos, Gaming, Full Coverage Foldable Holder Stand, Compatible with All Smartphones

There are several types of mobile screen magnifier design and you might want to read up on some of the reviews (amazon) on them. Price is also another matter and depends on your budget. Not that it'll cost much more than a portable monitor.

I would definitely recommend you to buy a portable monitor if you want a much better screen if you have the budget. But, if like me, you only want to use it for a Nintendo Switch lite, then definitely get one. There's basically no other way you can enlarge the Switch lite screen anyway.

LAIKETE 12" 3D Phone Screen Magnifier with Bluetooth Speakers, Anti-Blue Light Cell Phone Screen Amplifier Enlarger for Movie, Video, and Gaming, Compatible All Smartphones

I was thinking if I should get the mobile screen magnifier with speakers included. Would be nice to be able to hear much louder especially if your phone is behind the screen. Well, I can always get a better portable speaker next time.

I can of course just use my Razer headphone. Which I have been using for a while now. I love using the headphone with my Nintendo Switch lite. I'm also going to test the screen magnifier tonight. I always play some games or watch youtube on my Switch lite before I sleep.

I can't wait to try how good the Screen magnifier will be for my night entertainment before I sleep. The good thing is that I don't need any extra power or having to charge anything. That's another reason I like the magnifier. It will also definitely be useful if I need an enlarged view of anything in the future.

Control two laptops with one Mouse & Keyboard - Microsoft Mouse without Borders

Gaming Keyboard and Mouse and Mouse pad and Gaming Headset, Wired LED RGB Backlight Bundle for PC Gamers and Xbox and PS4 Users - 4 in 1 Edition Hornet RX-250

Hey guys,

Check it out!

A week ago, I decided to use a double-laptop setup. My main laptop will be my new HP with AMD Ryzen 7. And, my second laptop will be my ACER Spin 1 with Intel N4200. It's already over 3 years old but still usable. I could just get a portable monitor but I didn't want to just keep it inside my drawers.

My Acer Spin 1 kinda lag sometimes. You can use it for basic stuff like watching youtube, check emails, or whatever. I can't play any Triple-A games but I can play some oldies and even retro games. So, it's still pretty useful. On the battery mode, it can actually last much longer than my HP!

Newest HP Envy X360 2 in 1 15.6" FHD Touchscreen Laptop, AMD 4th Gen 8-Core Ryzen 7 4700U (Beat i7-8550U), 32GB RAM, 1TB PCIe SSD, Backlit Keyboard, Fingerprint Reader, Windows 10

I use my favorite 60% RK61 keyboard and mouse with my HP laptop. While I can just use my Acer laptop touchpad and keyboard if I need to use it. I mostly only use it to watch Youtube or listen to music while I work on my HP.

Right now, I'm using my main desktop computer to work on this blog post. I have my main ASUS monitor and two portable monitors. They're of different screen sizes. I didn't think of using them together with my desktop at first.

4K Portable Monitor Touchscreen, UPERFECT Gravity Sensor Automatic Rotate 15.6'' Slimmest 10-Point Touch UHD 3840x2160 Dual USB C Monitor Bracket Integrated & Frameless Bezel Glass HD Laptop Display

I really like my multiple monitors' setup and can easily multi-task. That's part of the reason, I decided to use a double-laptop setup. Only, instead of getting another portable monitor I just used my Acer laptop. The problem is that I keep forgetting and kept pushing my mouse to go to my Acer screen.

I'll realize what I was doing and use the Acer touchpad and keyboard. That, got me thinking. Can I use the same external mouse and keyboard that's attached to my HP on my Acer laptop? Would definitely be easier to control both of them at the same time.

Gaming Keyboard and Mouse and Mouse pad and Gaming Headset, Wired LED RGB Backlight Bundle for PC Gamers and Xbox and PS4 Users - 4 in 1 Edition Hornet RX-250

I did a quick search on Google and found a site that talks about Microsoft Software, Mouse Without Borders. I thought, what the heck, I can try it since it's free and it's from Microsoft. I hate software with trial date limitations. Especially, with ads.

For some reason, I thought this is old software (2018). Even the page looks kinda old. I wonder if it still works. But, after the installation on my HP and then installing the same software on my Acer, I connect them with the HP passwords given. Voila!

Acer Swift 7 Thin & Lightweight Laptop 14” FHD IPS Touch Display in a Thin .10" Bezel, 8th Gen Intel Core i7-8500Y, 16GB LPDDR3, 512GB PCIe NVMe SSD, Back-lit Keyboard, Windows 10 - SF714-52T-73CQ

It works pretty flawlessly. Although I think because my Acer is kinda laggy, I need to shake my mouse around sometimes to find it. The good thing is that my keyboard works on the Acer laptop too. This way, you can work on both laptops with just one main keyboard and mouse. Cool!

You can also transfer files, copy and paste, and work between both your laptops or PC. Pretty nifty. In a way, it's kinda like Microsoft's latest, Your Phone App. Where you can access your phone on your PC. This is definitely one of my favorite app that I'm using right now.

My current double-laptops setup. Hp and Acer!

As you can see, it'll be a little cumbersome for me to use my Acer laptop, which is on the right, without an external keyboard and mouse. Now, thanks to Mouse Without Borders, I can just use my main external keyboard and mouse to control both separate laptops.

One thing to note is that, while gaming on my HP if I move the mouse to my Acer, the game window will minimize. But, I can continue playing when moving the mouse back to my HP. I also haven't tried transferring any files. But, I can copy and paste between the two laptops.

You can only use it with 4 separate computers. Maybe, next time, I'll try controlling my laptops with my desktop keyboard and mouse. I've already tried connecting and using my main keyboard and mouse on my android tablet. Which can also be done wirelessly.

I love connecting everything to my main desktop. Multi-tasking is Super cool and super easy!
