my S22 plus Samsung Dex with dex pad to monitor kitchen table setup

SAMSUNG Galaxy S22 Ultra Smartphone, Factory Unlocked Android Cell Phone, 128GB, 8K Camera & Video, Brightest Display, S Pen, Long Battery Life, Fast 4nm Processor, US Version, Burgundy

Hey guys,

Check it out!

I bought a new kitchen table and thought I'll re-set up and use my old dex pad linking to a monitor that I already have on the wall. I had to search around for my USB-A to USB-C cable and just re-used the HDMI cable to connect.

The Dex pad still works fine even after not using it, I think, for almost 3 years. I even forget that I can connect my wired mouse and keyboard to it. If you don't want messy cables, Bluetooth is the way to go. But, if you already have an extra mouse and keyboard, might as well use 'em.

A couple years back, I tested my dex pad with a portable monitor, using it as a PC or laptop. I was testing it with my Samsung S10 or was it the S10 plus. You can connect the Xbox controller via Bluetooth and play some games that have controller support.

I haven't checked out any new latest mobile games but games that have controller support are far and few between back then. Games that do are fun to play with a real controller instead of the touch. Though the funny thing is now, I don't mind touch control.

Remember, you can only use an Xbox controller that has Bluetooth you can connect to your phone. Those old controller doesn't have them. Some of my youtube channel video viewers didn't know that. Asking me how I connect to my phone.

That is one of the reasons I like android phones. I especially like Samsung because of  Samsung Dex and the dex pad. But, now you don't need a dex pad to connect to a computer or laptop. But, if you want to connect to a Tv or monitor, you'll need something like the dex pad.

Samsung actually had the Ubuntu for Android project but they shelve it later on. It was pretty interesting and fun to play around with. You can check out my video for Linux on dex beta here. Too bad you can't play with them anymore.

Razer Project Linda was interesting too. You can use the Razer phone which doesn't exist anymore and use it with a laptop shell. Razer shelves their mobile department. Not sure why. I kinda like it. But, it had lots of problems. You can check out my unboxing video here.

There was a Samsung DexBook aka lapdock concept that looks pretty cool. You can check out the video I did on it here. The website that hosts the concept doesn't exist anymore though. Too bad, Samsung wasn't interested to create it. I would have bought it.

I created a poll asking if anyone would be interested in it and got a good response. Samsung decided to create a laptop that's more mobile. I think they used a mobile processor. I don't understand why there's no big company interested in a lap dock. The Linda Project and Samsung DexBook were a cool idea!

Will they sell? I'm pretty sure it will. Mobile phones are getting more powerful. Even on par with some laptops. Okay, not those high-end gaming laptops. Everyone has a mobile phone. They use it for pretty much everything nowadays. Why not create a lapdock to expand its usage?

Samsung Dexbook aka Lap dock - Will Samsung ever make it?

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 2 5G | Factory Unlocked Android Cell Phone | 256GB Storage | US Version Smartphone Tablet | 2-in-1 Refined Design, Flex Mode | Mystic Bronze

Hey guys,

Check it out!

I made the video above around April 15, 2019. There's a website that shows a concept Samsung Dexbook. It doesn't exist anymore. Not sure why they delete it. It looks pretty cool and a lot of people were actually interested in it.

It's kinda like the Razer concept lap dock for their Razer phone. You can watch the video "Project Linda", here. That would have been my mobile computing wet dream. But, for some reason, they discontinue the phone and didn't create the lap dock.

I even created a poll that people can vote by following the URL >> Do you want Samsung DexBook lap dock polls. Yes or No? Vote: https://linkto.run/p/TQVDUJL8 - So far, 100% says, Yes! Follow the link to vote if you want it.

The thing is, Samsung has Samsung Dex included with their latest phones. That means you can link your phone to a Tv or a portable monitor and use your phone as a desktop or laptop. It's not just plain mirroring your phone but with a full desktop UI or user interface.

Nowadays, the phone is already like a portable computer right in your pocket. You bring it everywhere and use it for communication, work, and play. Everything is pretty much centered around your device. With a Dex pad or a USB C cable, you can now view your data on a bigger screen with mouse and keyboard support.

Samsung has even updated their mobile CPU with the latest Exynos 2100. Fast internet with 5G. Powerful CPU and GPU. As a Youtuber and Blogger, all that power will make my jobs much better and easier. Better pictures, 8K videos, on the spot video editing, and quick uploading.

Samsung Dexbook or a lap dock for the Galaxy phone will definitely enhance the phone. Yes, I already tried it with a portable monitor and a dex pad. But, guess what? It's kinda a hassle to set it up and to keep it after use.

I actually wish I have something like the HP X3 lap dock. It's not meant for the Samsung phone but it does work. Not really perfect but it's much better than the mess of a portable monitor and a dex pad. Unless you set it up to be permanent.

Samsung has instead created a laptop that will work with their phones. You can link to it via a USB C hub or cable and even charge your phone by putting it on top of the touchpad. Pretty nifty, I must admit. And, you also have the best of both worlds. A Microsoft Windows 10 laptop and Android OS.

The thing is, mobile computing needs a niche of its own. Android OS also has improved. I actually used to hate it. Because back then I loved iOS. It's an alternative to Windows or even Linux. It's now fast, smooth and there's already a plethora of games and apps.

So, why not have something like the Dexbook? You use it as a phone for taking pictures and videos and when you want to edit it on a bigger screen with mouse and keyboard support you just dock it into your lap dock. At the same time, charging it. You don't even need a Windows laptop or desktop anymore.

Now that's what I call pure mobile computing!

Samsung dex on my HP 15s AMD RYZEN 7 laptop

ASUS ROG Zephyrus G14 14" VR Ready 120Hz FHD Gaming Laptop,8Core AMD Ryzen 9 4900HS(Beat i7-10750H),16GB RAM,1TB PCIe SSD,Backlight,Wi-Fi 6,USB C,NVIDIA GeForce RTX2060 Max-Q,Win10 (Moonlight White)

Hey guys,

Check it out!

The last time, I tried out Samsung Dex was on my low-end Acer laptop with Intel N4200 and HD 505. My laptop originally had 4GB ram. It was 'functional' but sometimes it lags. Would have been fine if I just use it for simple things like checking emails and youtube.

You can check out the video of me using Samsung Dex on my Acer laptop here. I've actually upgraded that laptop ram to 8Gb. So, another 4Gb of rams actually help make things a little smoother. I can also actually played some games like Diablo.

Samsung Dex (website) on my HP 15.6, AMD Ryzen 7 is definitely much better. Although, you can actually just use Microsoft Your Phone App. The difference is in the user interface. I prefer Samsung Dex because it's more like a desktop.

If you don't have a laptop, you can plug in your Samsung phone to a TV, monitor, or portable monitor and turn it into a full-on computer. But, only certain Samsung phones has the Samsung Dex capability. I believe it's S10 and up.

Samsung Galaxy Note 10+ Factory Unlocked Cell Phone with 512 GB (U.S. Warranty), Aura Black/ Note10+

I'm still using my Note 10+ that I bought over a year ago. I'm hoping to get the Z Fold 2, one day. The Z Fold 2 is pretty interesting. I think it can also be used with Samsung Dex. That would be a plus. You can already use it like a tablet or even a folding laptop with a tiny touch keyboard.

Get a Bluetooth mouse and keyboard, and you'll have an android tablet setup to check emails, social media, watching youtube or movies. Now you can even play games on a bigger screen. Once done, just fold it and into your pocket.

Right now, the Samsung Z Fold 2 is pretty expensive. Also, most reviewers think the camera isn't that good compared to let's say the S20 or Note 20. It's also a little bulky. I'm pretty sure they can make it slimmer and hopefully less expensive in the next iteration.

I always thought that tech designers and manufacturers supposed to make their products more lasting, smaller, and cheaper. Isn't that what the future of tech should be? We should already have a base on the moon and probably already living on Mars by now.

Newest HP Envy X360 2 in 1 15.6" FHD Touchscreen Laptop, AMD 4th Gen 8-Core Ryzen 7 4700U (Beat i7-8550U), 32GB RAM, 1TB PCIe SSD, Backlit Keyboard, Fingerprint Reader, Windows 10

My new HP laptop unboxing video is pretty popular. I've already got over 10k views. Okay, you can't compare it to other top channels with millions of views. Still, they already have lots of subscribers. I'm actually surprised that it got way more views than my other laptop videos.

I think they like the slim, silver color AMD Ryzen design laptop. Although, the latest is Ryzen 9. If I had the money, I would have bought the latest Asus Zephyrus ROG 14 gaming laptop. Wish they have a 15.6-inch version. The color and design are the very reason I got the cheaper HP laptop.

Anyway, Samsung Dex is Samsung's advantage over other phone makers. Somebody made a demo of a DexBook (my youtube video) that would turn your Samsung phone into a laptop. Its design is actually pretty cool. Instead, Samsung makes a windows 10 laptop that has Samsung Dex support.

The laptop isn't that bad though. You can even charge your phone on the touchpad. Now, it reminds me of Apple's new M1 processor laptop and Microsoft Surface book or surface laptop or whatever they want to call it.

I actually had a chance to check out the latest Apple M1 laptop at a local Apple store and it's so slim, fast, and light. Not bad, not bad at all. I like the 16 inches or was it a 15 inch? I wonder if you can use Samsung Dex on it? That would be a plus for me.

So many laptops, so little money!
