Powkiddy X18 - The New Nintendo 3DS XL that I Had Always Wanted!

Powkiddy X18 Handheld Games Console 2-Player Video Game Machine 5.5-Inch WiFi

Hey guys,

Check it out!

Yes, I'm still going to talk about Powkiddy X18. It's because I'm still messing around with it. Well, yesterday night, I took out my retro ROMs MicroSD card from my Android tablet and put it into my X18. I forget how big the storage was until I realized it contains all my ROMs, music, pictures, etc.

Since I seldom use my tablet anymore, might as well used it on my X18. Anyway, retro gaming or any kind of gaming is much more fun with a physical controller. And, the X18 comes integrated with one. With a couple of thousands of retro games available, this is becoming my ultimate retro gaming system.

  • HDMI connection comes with C-TYPE, HDMI interface, can be directly connected to the TV with the corresponding interface, projector, monitor for games, after pre-installed TV LAUNCH can be used as a WIFI network set-top box with WIFI DISPLAY (need to connect smart TV or DONGLE).
  • Independent sound cavity design, immersive sound field, take you to experience smart music. Support 32G TF card expansion, HDMI high-definition interface, can support link high-definition TV, support Bluetooth link handle (can match PS-4 direct play handle).
  • Long-lasting battery life, 5000mAh large-capacity battery adopts a lithium polymer battery with a capacity of 5000mAh. The battery is smaller in size and lighter in weight and can be used more times.
  • CPU: MTK 8163, quad-core A53 64-bit processor 1.3GHz. Memory: 2GDDR3+16GB EMMC. Battery: 5000 mAh.
The funny thing is that the form factor design is obviously copied from the Nintendo 3DS. I make a quick physical comparison on my unboxing video. You can watch it here. I wish they copied everything though. Like a second screen, a stylus pen, and the camera.

Back in the day, I wish they'll improve on the NN3DS XL. Especially, the graphics. I remember watching youtube on it but now you can't. I still have it so, not being able to watch youtube kinda sucks. I can't quite remember if you can browse the Internet or do social media back then.

Now, I have the Nintendo Switch lite but as much as I love it, I'll always feel something missing. Yes, that's the part the Powkiddy X18 or the GPD XD Plus can fill it up. The difference with the X18 is that it uses Android O.S. which is like a lighter version of Microsoft Windows.

I don't really game all the time. I check my emails, read up on news, do research on Google, messaging, voice messages, video call my family and friends with Whatsapp, watch youtube, listen to music and social media. You know, the everyday thingy.

GPD XD Plus [Official distributor, Latest HW & Most Stable Update] Foldable Handheld Game Consoles 5" Touchscreen, Android 7.0 Fast Mediatek MT8176 Hexa-core 2.1GHz CPU, 4GB RAM/32GB ROM

Yes, I know. I already do all that on my Samsung Note 10+. In fact, I even have my Blackberry used as my second phone. Now, I consider the Powkiddy X18 as my main device to do all that. I even use it occasionally to Whatsapp my family and close friend.

That's why I wish the X18 has a camera like mine 3ds xl. I would have used it for video calls. Imagine, if the X18 also has a second screen, you can use it for a touchscreen keyboard or touchpad. That big empty space in between the controller is such a waste of space.

If you want something light and portable for entertainment and social media, you don't need Microsoft Windows software. I used to hate the early version of Android, now, you can do everything as if you're using a Windows PC. The best part that the mobile phone and a laptop don't have is the integrated controller.

The integrated controller is what makes the difference. That's why I love gaming on my Nintendo Switch and NN3DS XL. Even if you don't like the integrated controller you can buy an external controller. But, the important thing is that there's an integrated one for on-the-go gaming!

The Powdiddy X18 and the GPD XD Plus though also lets you use it as a mini laptop. It's what I had always wanted to do on my NN3DS XL years ago. And, even on my Switch lite now. But, if they put a second touchscreen/touchpad and a camera for video-calling, it'll be 90% perfect!

Help I Am A Nintendo Switch Game Addict

Nintendo Switch Lite - Gray with SanDisk 128GB MicroSDXC UHS-I Card for Nintendo Switch

Hey guys,

Check it out!

The other day, someone told me he's thinking of getting the Nintendo Switch lite with a 128GB MicroSD card. He asked me would be enough? Well, I replied that even some free-to-play games are big in size almost 19GB. So, 128GB will fill up pretty fast!

I would know. I went from 64GB to 128GB and finally jumped to 512GB. If the 1TB MicroSD card was a little cheaper, I would have bought it. I have already used half of my 512GB card. I'm hoping there'll be a 2TB MicroSD card in the future.

I love games and my Switch lite. If possible, I want all the games into one MicroSD Card. So, I can play whatever games I feel like playing when I'm out and about. That's why I said, the Switch lite is much better than a gaming laptop or a gaming phone.

I've had my m14x Alienware gaming laptop for a couple of years and I seldom bring it outside with me. For one thing, it's pretty heavy to bring along. Well, it was back then compared to the gaming laptop of today. Unless the place you're going to has internet access it's like walking around with a couple of bricks inside your backpack.

I have many games on Steam and I've always dreamed of a portable gaming device that will allow me to play them on the go. Many of the games don't need an internet connection. Unless you're playing multiplayer games.

Nintendo pretty much answered my prayer with their Nintendo Switch and Switch lite. Especially, the switch lite. It's more into handheld mode gaming and for single players. I mostly like playing the single-player campaign mode. I don't care for co-ops.

My nephews love gaming too. I let them play my Playstation and Xbox since they were 5 years old. Now they're all grown up and sometimes asked me to co-op or play against them. But, I always declined. For one thing, they keep telling me I'm slow. Maybe, I'm getting old?

In some of my video gameplay, there'll be people commenting about the way I play. Dude, I've been playing games since before you were born. Anyway, I'm just doing a promo for the games and gaming accessories. I didn't bother to try out the game or the controller first. Too lazy and I want my video to be up fast. I can always improve and play better later.

SanDisk 1TB Ultra MicroSDXC UHS-I Memory Card with Adapter - 120MB/s, C10, U1, Full HD, A1, Micro SD Card - SDSQUA4-1T00-GN6MA

One thing I'm looking forward to is more popular pc games are coming to the switch. That means it could eat up more of my storage space. I can't help myself. I'm buying every game that I like and always checking out the eShop deals section.

My nephews only prefer buying triple AAA FPS shooter games. They don't like retro or cheap games like I do. They don't get it. Gaming is not just about powerful CPU and GPU. I like playing from simple relaxing jigsaw puzzles to solitaire, mahjong and even matching games. They scoff at the fact I'm buying all these simple cheap games.

The important thing for me is that I love playing games and if it's fun, interesting, and sometimes able to flex my brain muscle I'm all for it. In fact, I remember they did research on a group of old people playing games, it actually helps their mental health in some ways. I think so too.

That's why Brain games were popular back then.

What do you guys think?

Nintendo switch Two players Overcooked 2 gameplay

Overcooked! 2 - Nintendo Switch

Hey guys,

Check it out!

My niece wanted Overcooked 2 to play on the Nintendo switch. So, I bought it for her. Her friend came over today to play. Lucky for me, I already bought the Nintendo pro controller. It's much better to play then using the small switch joy-con.

I haven't tried out the game yet but looks fun. I guess it's the same cooking strategy game like Cook Serve Delicious 2. Which I wrote about a couple of months back. There's also video gameplay of the game if you haven't heard of it before.

My niece and nephew want me to sell them my switch. But, I'm waiting for the new version. If ever it's coming out. I'm wondering if all my games could be transferred to the new system and how. I also need a bigger micro sd card. I'm running out of space with my current 64gb card.

The eShop is expanding and there are loads and loads of new games. Currently, if the game size is too big, I'll buy the cartridge. But, if it's a mere 3-5gb. I'll rather download it. You can quickly switch between games if it's a download.

Even if you buy the physical cartridge version, there aren't any cool posters that come with the game. That's really something missing. Remember the time when we used to paste cool posters in our room? Those were the days. Game developers should rethink their game packaging!

Get Overcooked 2 via the link below!

PowerA Enhanced Wireless Controller for Nintendo Switch - Princess Zelda - Nintendo Switch

I really hope, the new switch will at least have 1-2 TB of internal space. With more games available for download. It'll be much faster to switch between games and not having to carry all your game cartridges everywhere.

Games today, are known to be very large in size. Games like NBA Basketball, Diablo, Wolfenstein II or Doom need a bigger micro sd card. Some of them might even be slow to start. But, it's really fun to be able to play all this game whenever and wherever you are. Even without wifi!

Nintendo switch is probably the best portable gaming console there is. And, I've been saying that since the day I got it. I actually took a plunge to buy it since my nephew was interested to play his favorite Fifa18. Which he is still playing until today!

listening to metallica on my ds lite

Nintendo DS Limited Edition Pokemon Pack

Hey guys,

Check it out!

I finally, found out how to play music files on my nintendo ds lite. I've been searching around and discovered an article that talk about Moonshell app for the nds. Had a little problem at first, as I was a little confused on the installing procedure.

Also, I thought, there's something wrong with my ndstt card. Turn out, there's nothing wrong with it. I didn't have the necessary TTmenu files. Since, I wasn't sure, I tried on another microsd card just to be safe. It works after I setup the moonshell app again.

I'm still playing around with the app. On my youtube video, when I closed the lid, the music will automatically stop. I realized later that you can go to the setting and set up the speaker to continue playing. This way, you can close the lid and still listen to music on your headphone.

Now, I can use my ds lite to play games and also used it to listen to music like an mp3 player. Super cool!

Like I've said, I haven't fully test the app yet. I think, you can take voice notes, see pictures and even watch videos. I might be wrong. In any case, the ds lite is really a cool portable retro gaming gadget. I really like the small form factor compared to other available device right now.

I've been playing around with my ds lite for couple of days now and the battery still looking strong. Admittedly, I don't play games on it for hours on end. Only occasionally, and especially at night before I sleep. I'll probably now use it to listen to music before I sleep too.
