Nintendo Switch lite - Aground - Survival Crafting Mining Building - gameplay

Nintendo Switch with Neon Blue and Neon Red Joy‑Con - HAC-001(-01)

Hey guys,

Check it out!

I've talked about indie and free-to-play mobile games coming to the Nintendo Switch. And, they keep coming. Yesterday, I get the chance to download and play the game Aground (eShop). An interesting survival/mining/crafting 2D Rpg game and I must say, I quite enjoy playing it on my Nintendo Switch lite.

Frankly, I don't play this kind of game much. As I prefer racing and fps shooter game. It's still fun though. And being able to play it on the go is why I like my Switch lite so much. You can play, saved, stop and then play again. Just like playing a mobile game only better because there's a proper controller.

Talking about the proper controller, you can quickly learn which buttons to use as the game will show the icon to guide you. I read that the game dev didn't want an open world type of survival game and they prefer to let the player focus on mining, crafting tools, and building.

That's why I felt like you're not wasting time and can quickly build and grow your own community. There's a little bit of action as wild boars will come and attack you. Playing the game, I realized that players will be spending hours on it as there seems so much to do and managed.

One thing I notice is how relaxing the game music is. There's been a few games that include a music player that gamers can listen to on their Nintendo Switch. As there's no real music player on the Switch that you can listen to your own music,

I don't know why Nintendo doesn't have a music or video player. They have it on the 3DS. In fact, the Switch has a much better screen and probably sound. Besides gaming, I use my switch lite to watch youtube and listen to music before I sleep.

This game isn't actually new. It's also available on other platforms. Personally, for me, it really fits playing on a Nintendo Switch or in my case the Nintendo Switch lite. You don't need big storage to install this game and I think it's pretty light on the battery, so you'll be able to play for longer hours.

This kind of game can be pretty addictive. As you're always mining, crafting, and building. You'll be fighting monsters and soon you'll even be able to build spaceships and fly out to space. Yup, don't let the simple 2D graphics fool you. This game is much much more than your simple mobile game.

The game dev also said that Aground kinda is like the text-based game, A Dark Room. Which, I also play. I like text-based games and Aground has a little bit of that. Like I keep saying, this kind of game really fits into the Nintendo Switch.

Being able to play this game on the go like mobile gaming. Only that, you have a better playing experience because of the easier and much better control with a real game controller. I can't stress how much better the Switch lite is for gaming than a mobile phone.

The game will only be able to be played on Feb 11, 2021. But, you can add it to your wish list now!
