I've been checking out some games that I can play with my joysticks and triggers and one of the games is Shadow Fight 3. At first, I didn't know that you can customize the layout of the buttons. Only when I pause the game during one of the fights did I realize that you can.

The problem is that you'll only be able to use the tip of the buttons for contact. You can't go up any further without blocking the original life layout. You'll also need to resize it. I'm not sure if you can shift the buttons further to the corner of the phone and just shift my triggers.

I discovered that for most games, the position of my triggers is better near the center of the phone. So, you won't be blocking maps, the back buttons or whatever. Even if you're blocking your scores, you can just turn over the phone to see it. I kept forgetting that I can do that.

By the way, just remember that you don't put the triggers on your phone's camera. It depends on how you like to hold the phone while playing. I prefer the camera side to be on the left and the charging side on the right. Although, I don't have to worry about sounds as my Samsung Note 10+ have speakers on both side. Anyway, I've got a hearing problem on my left ear.

Sometime, I'll be able to use my S pen to re-arrange the fire and scope buttons. Not all games though. Using my S pen is much easier with the small tip instead of my fingers. In that way, I don't have to keep unscrewing and shifting my triggers.

I'm actually thinking of getting the double triggers type. I'll be able to use it with other buttons like grenade or crouching. Also, the long triggers would be much better when playing pinball games instead of using the small ones.

Frankly, I love my triggers. It's very sturdy with no slipping while playing games. In fact, I'm keeping it on permanently even if I'm not using it. It's really good for FPS shooter games of course. But, as you can see from my videos, you can play racing and even fighting game with it. Does feel a little bit weird when using triggers for fighting game though.

Using joysticks for fighting and racing games are great. But, for other games like fps or even side-scrolling games, it will limit your movement. Unless you get one that allows you a bigger movement. You might also want to get one that clips to your phone instead of using the suction cups.

There are advantaged for using both the clip and suction cups type. The clip is very stable while the suction cups might become loose after a while. For the moment, I like using the joysticks with the suction cups as I can just stick it to the back of my phone when I'm not playing. While you'll have to take off the clips.

In all, I'm pretty satisfied with my setup. I don't have to worry about buying a remap buttons app which doesn't always work and also having to charge my controller. The triggers might be a little bulky but not as much as a gamepad and I can even use it as a low stand. It also doesn't block my camera so, I can pretty much fix it on my phone permanently.

I've been thinking of buying triggers and joysticks for playing mobile games but have never got to it. After checking out what's available, I finally decided on this transparent triggers and joysticks. I must say, the triggers actually work pretty well. Can't say the same for the joysticks though.

Actually, one of the triggers was a little rough in the middle of the transition point. I thought, maybe the hole wasn't aligned properly. After, spraying some good ol' wd-40, it was smooth again. And, I could play my favorite games without any problem.

The problem though is with the joysticks that I bought. They're fine if you're playing games with simple directional movement. But, you can't use it for playing fps shooter games like Call of Duty mobile or PUBG. The movement is limited and you won't be able to run.

I end up, just do away with the joysticks altogether. They need to design a good joystick that actually works with such games. There are drawbacks when using such triggers and joysticks. For the triggers, they might block your info view. Like how much money or points you have. It would have been better if you can customize the layout.

That's the thing with some of the mobile games. The dev doesn't seem to right out of the box allows you to customize how you control or play the game. Earlier when the iPhone first came out, it was cool to be able to play games with touch and gyro.

Then gamers started to clamor for gamepad. Especially for FPS shooter games. The touch control was so bad, but gamers put up with it because there was no choice. I actually got to become one of the faces for a zombie shooter game in 2008. The game was called Zombie Mangle. It doesn't exist anymore for some reason.

I am not sure what color zombie. Pictures were edited by the game dev.

It was one of those earlier FPS games. Playing it on my 2nd gen iPhone was really fun. Nowadays, games are much more complicated and better design. Thanks to better phone graphics and CPU technology of course. Console-like graphics are the norm nowadays. You can even play using your favorite Xbox one s or ps4 controller!

A mobile phone nowadays is not just a phone anymore. My Samsung Note 10+ can be connected to a monitor or tv via a docking station. Hence, mobile gaming is not just playing games on a mobile platform. It's becoming a mobile computing and gaming console.

Why are mobile game devs still creating 'silly' games on it? Why aren't Triple AAA game developers creating real console-like games with real controller support? They're actually concentrating on cloud gaming that will allow players to play console games on their mobile devices. They want your subscription money.

Yes, there are console-like games available for mobile devices. But, not all of them have controller support. Even though it's an FPS shooter game. That's what gets me. The other day, I read something from a gamer complaining about one of the mobile games. He said the way the games are created as if it's for a child. That actually struck me.

Gaming in the past, it used to be that you need good skills. You need a GOOD controller and fast fingers. Tapping or using your thumbs to move around on a glass screen is not fun. There are countless times when I lose track of the positions of the buttons on the phone. Because you can't 'feel' the buttons anymore.

All is not lost though. Finally, now you can play games using your Xbox or ps4 controller. Yes, it was 2008 when my face was on a mobile zombie FPS shooter game. Now, it's 2020. It took almost 12 effing years for that to happen.

Microsoft Xbox studios are going to have their game Forza Street available on mobile soon. It's already available for pc. When they announce it last month, I thought it was a new mobile game. Nope! I'm not sure about the android tablets.

I really hope that it was going to be like the Forza Horizon 4. I eagerly downloaded the game and before it starts, I already prep my Xbox controller. Guess what? No fcking controller support. It's all touch base and it totally suckz!

That's the level of thinking for mobile gaming. It's all design for a child!

I finally received my AK16 PUBG mobile gamepad today, and I'm actually loving it. I've been looking for an alternative for my Samsung Note 10+ because of its 6.8-inch size. There are not many controllers that can fit it.

I've already got myself the Mocute 058 One-Handed controller. While the glap controller which is pretty expensive. It's probably one of the best that's design for the Note 10+ phone. So, I decided to try the AK16 which is controller design for such games as PUBG and Call of Duty mobile.

I haven't yet tried those FPS Shooter games but I've tried playing and customizing the triggers for UNKILLED and SHADOWGUN LEGENDS. There are a lot of these games which allow you to customize the position of the triggers.

I was wondering if I could also use the gamepad to play my favorite pinball games. And, I can. All I need to do is turn the gamepad around so the triggers will be down below. The game will automatically adjust too.

It's definitely much more fun to play games with a gamepad. Although, I wish I could customize the controller and maybe don't have to turn the gamepad upside down. I also tried some racing games like F1 mobile, Grid Autosport, and Rush Rally 3.

You can definitely play the racing games with the AK16 gamepad but you'll have to customize the controller layout. Rush Rally 3 is probably the best to play with the gamepad. I wish all the mobile games offer the player control customization.

There are many console-level mobile games that don't include the ability to customize the control. They, the game dev prefers to concentrate on touchscreen control. Which kinda suckz. Especially, when your thumbs can get cringy while playing.

One thing I like about this kind of controller is that I don't have to worry about recharging the battery for it. I can play for hours and just concentrate on the game. All I need is to charge my phone. I can even play while charging since there's a cut out for it.

Well, at least it's cheap. Have a good ergonomic design. And, I can play most of my favorite mobile games with it. You also don't have to worry about recharging. Get one if you're interested. Just make sure your phone will fit into it.

I decided to get the IPEGA Red Knight Retractable controller for my S10+ phone. I think it's the perfect controller. It's light, fits my S10+ size and really loves the black and red color. The trigger buttons feel solid and so are the key buttons. The joystick though would love to be a bit bigger.

You can easily connect the device to your phone via Bluetooth. Make sure you switch on the power button before pressing the home button. Once, turned on, press the Home + A button to connect. Scan for the device on your phone and you'll see the name ipega 9087S. Connect!

Of course, the first thing I do is try to play my favorite android racing game, Rush Rush Rally 3. Nope, the keymap is all over the place. I gave up after a while and tried other games. I even download the app Octopus from the Google Play Store to see if I can remap. Deleted it. It doesn't work and full of stupid ads.

I decided to read the damn instructions. Realized that it's for games like Pubg or anything similar. Well, it works right out the bat. At least, I'm able to play something. I was already thinking, I've wasted my money. I also realized that I need to turn my phone the other way round if I want to play Gear. Club. No wonder, the game control seems wacky.

I also didn't know, you can choose 'mode'. I read that you can press Home + X to make the buttons work when playing emulator games. I'll try it out later. Maybe, I can finally make it work with Rush Rush Rally 3. Unkilled, a zombie shooter game also works with the red knight controller. But, the right joystick was too sensitive. I had to gently tap it to aim.

My nephew asked me if the controller will work with IOS devices. I read the box and it said, yes. He plays the game like pubg, so maybe he'll get one for himself too. If you don't want your phone to be put on the retractable controller, you can play it as it is. I find playing a game without the phone quite comfortable. A little weird that the middle part is empty. No biggy.

Some gamer complained about the D-pad. I don't feel anything wrong with it. So are the rest of the buttons. My only complaint is that it doesn't work with some of my favorite games. Maybe, I can request for ipega controller support from the game dev. I'm still dabbling with the controller so, we'll see. So far, so good!

Oh yeah, one more gripe is that I can't charge the phone and play a game at the same time. I'll need to take it out. It would have been great if the controller can charge your phone while playing. I was thinking, what if I leave it on all the way. Nope, too big. But, you can still use it as a phone. Maybe, in a future release?

The ipega with the phone really looks like a Nintendo switch. Only, the controller is fixed. Something, like the switch lite. I compared the size of my unboxing video. I've always wanted to buy a controller for my mobile phone. Guess, the iPega 9087S are ok. Especially, since it works with shooter games.

Well, I'm off to check out the mode. See, if it works with some of the games that didn't earlier.

The Dex Pad is a great accessory for the latest Samsung phones like my S10+, S9, Note9 or any other with Samsung Dex support. It's so light, you can bring it anywhere with you without adding any significant extra weight. That could be important to some of you road warriors.

That's the problem with android games. They're full of in-app purchase crap and it's not a full game where you can play it offline. It's really exasperating. And, most of the game doesn't even have controller support. Game developers today, have become a bunch of greedy hyenas!

An old gamer like me really misses the old days, where you can't wait for the latest game iteration to come out. With great stories and adventures. Remember, when we're kids trying to beat the game. Playing until our thumbs grew numbs. Smashing, and throwing the controller when we lose. lol :p

Those are all just memories of the good past. And, now we have all these crappy games that keep asking you to pay to play. Whoever thought of this, have really destroyed the fun in gaming. It's all about the bottom line. Well, good things, we have emulators. I can still relive those days!

I can definitely play it on my S10+ and even use the Dex pad to play on my Tv. The games are also controllers supported. Retro gaming, anyone?

I've said, time and time again. We need popular pc games to be ported to android. I'm no technical expert, but I'm pretty sure they can do it. Imagine, playing games like skyrim, diablo, call of duty and dirt's franchise on your mobile phone. That will be totally awesome!
