I bought an 18mm F6.3 MF 7artisans UFO Lens | Nikon ZFC #7artisans #18mmlens #nikon #nikonzfc

I bought an 18mm F6.3 MF 7artisans UFO Lens | Nikon ZFC #7artisans #18mmlens #nikon #nikonzfc

I Bought the 7Artisans 18mm F6.3 UFO Lens for My Nikon Zfc – Here's What I Think

(All links will open up in a new tab.)

If you're passionate about compact gear and street photography, you'll love this one. I recently picked up the 7Artisans 18mm F6.3 UFO Manual Focus Lens for my Nikon Zfc, and it's been a surprisingly fun and practical addition to my camera bag.

Why I Chose the 7Artisans 18mm F6.3 UFO Lens

As a travel and street photography enthusiast, I prefer compact and lightweight gear. The 7Artisans 18mm F6.3 UFO Lens fits that description perfectly. It’s small and pancake-thin, nickname “UFO” for its disc-like design. Plus, it’s one of the most affordable wide-angle lenses for Nikon Z-mount systems, making it perfect for amateur photographers and those on a budget.

7Artisans 18mm F6.3 Lens Specs:

  • Focal Length: 18mm (27mm equivalent on APS-C)

  • Aperture: Fixed at f/6.3

  • Focus Type: Manual Focus (MF)

  • Minimum Focus Distance: 0.3m

  • Optics: 6 elements in 4 groups

  • Weight: Approx. 58g

  • Mount: Nikon Z (Also available for other mirrorless systems)

  • Best For: Street photography, travel, landscapes, and casual snapshots

Why It Pairs So Well with My Nikon Zfc

The Nikon Zfc is a retro-styled mirrorless camera that’s compact, stylish, and extremely capable. It features:

  • Sensor: 20.9MP APS-C CMOS sensor

  • ISO Range: 100-51200 (expandable)

  • 4K Video Recording: Up to 30p

  • Articulating Touchscreen: Great for vlogging and creative angles

  • Built-in Wi-Fi and Bluetooth: Easy file sharing and remote shooting

I love using the Nikon Zfc for photography and videography. It’s lightweight, intuitive, and delivers sharp, vibrant photos with minimal effort. The 7Artisans 18mm lens complements the Zfc’s vintage look and compact form factor, making it ideal for street shooting, travel, or just everyday photography.

Ideal Uses: Travel, Street, and Minimalist Photography

With its wide-angle view and ultra-compact design, this lens is ideal for:

  • Urban exploration

  • Street photography

  • Travel shots

  • Casual walkaround photography

  • Discreet photo moments (thanks to its tiny size)

It's not great in low light with its fixed f/6.3 aperture, but with enough daylight, it produces sharp, punchy images, especially when you're just looking to document life and travels.

Where I’ve Used It: Thailand & Local Street Shoots

I’ve taken my Nikon Zfc and this lens combo to Thailand and for many local photography walks, and I have to say — it's been a blast. Compact, inconspicuous, and super easy to carry around, it lets me focus more on enjoying the moment and less on the gear.

Love My 28mm SE Lens – Perfect Travel Duo

While I love experimenting with different lenses, my Nikkor Z 28mm f/2.8 SE is another favorite, especially for travel photography. Paired with the Zfc, it delivers crisp images with a vintage look and fast autofocus. It’s the perfect combo for amateur photographers looking for lightweight, sharp, and stylish gear.

NIKON Z8 | 50 - 250mm | CINEMATIC SHORT | MORNING RAIN #nikonz8 #cinematicshort

(Note: All links will open up in a new tab)

Hey guys,

Check it out!

I decided to do a videography on my new camera, the Nikon Z8. I'm still learning and trying out some settings. I did a reasonably good job. I've been checking out some other videos on YouTube and I got an idea of what kind of video I wanted to do.

I currently have a problem with my left knee. So, I can only walk a little. Been itching to go out and try out the Nikon z8. I've been wanting to do a video during the rain. I used to hate the rainy season. I prefer the beautiful blue sky for photography.

Later on, I realized that rain can be a positive thing. It can add a bit of drama to the photo or video. We can use natural light to make the picture more in-depth. That's what I believe anyway. This is my first try and I hope there'll be positive feedback.

Of course, I don't expect everyone to like it. Everyone has their own preferences. Sometimes, that's one of the reasons stopping me from taking photographs or making a video. I always wondered why I even bothered. Then again, why should I care what others think as long as I'm happy?

You can't please them. Anyway, I've been uploading videos on my YouTube channel for a long time. Some popular videos got high views. Because of YouTube's new #short videos, most views have dropped. My video views significantly dropped too.

One positive thing from the #shorts video is that it helps me get more subscribers. I also get many views from my #short videos. #short videos are easy to make and quick to upload. So there are cons and pros to YouTube's #short. You just need your phone to take videos and upload them.

I love making videos. That's why I decided to get the Nikon Z8. Yes, it's expensive. But, it's an investment. I'm still new to photography but the Z8 can make me a better photographer and videographer. It's a great hybrid camera if you love both.

My first camera was the Nikon Coolpix P950. I love the zooming capabilities. Watch this video I made with the P950. The second camera I bought is also a Nikon, the Zfc. I love the Nikon Zfc too. One of my favorite photos and videos I took in this video.

I used the Nikkor z dx 20-250mm to take the video. I plan to get the latest 28-400mm for my z8. I love the prime 28mm lens that came with my Zfc. I want the 28mm lens and the 400mm range. I've used the zoom in my P950 that's why I love lenses with different zoom capabilities.

I'm getting the gimbal or the cage for my z8. But, they are pretty expensive. Using a handheld seems ok. If you plan to take some action videos, you certainly need them. I'm still testing and doing my own research to make good videos. If you like my "Morning Rain" video pls like and share!

Yup! I love my Nikon Z8!

my new AstrHori Full frame 50mm F2.0 Manual prime lens for Nikon z fc z mount #astrhori #nikon #nikonzfc

AstrHori 50mm F2.0 Full Frame Large Aperture Manual Focus Prime Lens with Blur Effect & Filter Slot Compatible with Nikon Z Mount Mirrorless Camera Z6 Z7 Z6II Z7II Zfc

My new AstrHori Full frame 50mm F2.0 Manual prime lens for Nikon z fc z mount #astrhori #nikon #nikonzfc

Hey guys,

Check it out!

I was looking for a budget(cheap) lens for my new Nikon Z fc and found one from AstrHori. It's a 50mm full-frame F2.0 prime lens and Z mount. Nicely fits on my ZFC. It's also within my budget. So, what the heck? It's fun to play and try out the new lenses.

Of course, I researched a 50mm lens. It's a manual and a third-party product for a Nikon camera. I'm a newbie in photography, and my first camera was the Nikon P950. I love that camera because of its zoom capabilities, and I still have it.

AstrHori 50mm F2.0 Full Frame Large Aperture Manual Focus Prime Lens with Blur Effect & Filter Slot Compatible with Nikon Z Mount Mirrorless Camera Z6 Z7 Z6II Z7II Zfc

I love my Nikon Zfc; it's a different beast altogether. It's a Retro design with all the bells and whistles, but a different camera altogether from my P950. For starters, I have the 28mm and now the 50mm lens. The Nikon 28mm autofocus prime lens is a special edition for the Zfc.

When I bought the Nikon P950, I didn't have to worry about getting a lens. It has an 83mm optical zoom and a 2000mm digital zoom. I bought it because I can use it to take pictures and videos of the moon. It's also great for normal digital photography.

AstrHori 50mm F2.0 Large Aperture Full Frame Manual Prime Lens with Blur Effect & Filter Slot Compatible with Nikon Z-Mount Mirrorless Camera Z50, ZFC, Z5, Z6, Z6ⅡZ7, Z7Ⅱ, Z9, etc(Grey)

I love the look and design of my new 50mm AstrHori lens. It's manual focus, though, and it's not like my Nikon 28mm S.E. with autofocus and CPU link to my camera. So, you have to manually adjust everything. Which I actually like. Well, how am I supposed to learn if everything is auto?

That's why I don't like it when people give low stars in their reviews of products. You bought it because of what it does, not what it can't do. If you want a product that does what you want, buy it. Yes, it's definitely going to be expensive!

I bought the AstrHori 50mm manual prime lens because it's cheaper and within my budget. I might get a Nikon or other expensive and more capable lens. Heck, I've been watching videos of the latest Fuji X-H2/X-H2S camera. I like some of the sample videos shown on YouTube.

X-H2 is for videographers, and the X-H2s is more geared toward photographers. Or is it the other way around? Lol. A video or movie showcased by someone using the X-H2 is good. Which to choose because I love taking photos and videos.

I'm a total beginner in photography, and I just got my Nikon P950 and Nikon Z Fc. I would like to add to my collection of cameras and lenses. It's a new hobby of mine, albeit an expensive one. It's interesting, and I need to get more experience.

I also just started cycling, and because I like to cycle to parks, beaches, and nature reserves, I also started photography. Cycling and photography. Oh, I also have a YouTube channel and this blog. You have seen and read my blog, so don't forget to visit my channel too!

Finally! My new retro design Nikon z fc camera with 28mm lens unboxing

Nikon Z fc DX-Format Mirrorless Camera Body (Black) 1671 Bundle with Deco Gear with Deco Gear Microphone + LED Light + Backpack + Photo Video Software & Photography Accessories Kit

Hey guys,

Check it out!

Finally! Bought my second-ever digital mirrorless camera and I decided to get the Nikon Z fc. Simply because of its cool retro design with all the bells and whistles. I did think I should buy the z50 instead, but I already have a modern-looking camera, the Nikon Coolpix P950.

I'm not selling my P950, yet, because there's still so much I haven't learned from it. I also love the zooming capabilities and don't need to buy expensive, bigger lenses. Though, I might, for the Z fc. In any case, for a photography newbie like me, the 28mm should be enough for now.

My next target camera is the z7ii or who knows the z9. But, they're expensive and I'll need to get better photography skills. I'll say, they're pro-level cameras. Those who need it for work. If you're not making money taking photography I don't see why you'll want an expensive camera setup.

Okay, photography hobbyists might beg to defer. If you have the money then go for it. I would too. Lol. Anyway, for now, my new favorite camera is the z fc. I really love the design. It's fun to play around with the dials control. It's actually much faster than looking around at the LCD touch screen.

Nikon Z 6II FX-Format Mirrorless Camera Body Black

The z fc is basically a z50 with a retro-looking design. You basically want a z fc because of the looks and the manual dials control. They have the same sensor. If you're not into retro design, then get the z50. Never had a hands-on of the z50 so I can't comment much about it. Oh, it's also cheaper.

Those who have the z50 recommend it over the z fc. To me, I wanted to learn how to use manual control. I find the z fc to be a fun camera to play with. I think if you're a newbie to photography like me, this would be the perfect camera. Unless you prefer the modern look and usage.

Nikon Z 7II FX-Format Mirrorless Camera Body Black

I'm not saying you can't set the other cameras to manual control. It's just that the z fc with all the dials and buttons control makes you want just fiddle with them. I'm happy just looking at it. I even put a picture of it on both my Samsung s22+ and iPhone 13 home screen.

Currently, I've only taken a few test pictures of my Samsung s22+ with the 28mm lens. From what I've seen it's really sharp. I can zoom in to the words on my phone. Testing the ISO, aperture, exposure, etc. I'm really excited to go out cycling again soon and take pictures with my new z fc and 28mm lens.

Nikon Z 9 FX-Format Mirrorless Camera Body

I've only just pick-up cycling and photography. Yes, you can travel light and just bring your mobile phone to take quick pictures and post them on your social media. But, photography with a camera is very much a different process and experience.

My nephew keeps comparing the pictures of the iPhone and my camera without realizing that it's a totally different processor and even the lens capabilities are different. My P950, can zoom to ships or boats far out at sea and take good sharp pictures.

Check out some of the photos I've taken on my channel here.

You can also do a search on this blog as I've posted videos and links here.
