Scratch Coding - My Brick Breaker Tunnel game demo gameplay

scratch coding cards creative coding activities for kids

Hey guys,

Check out my new 'Brick Breaker Tunnel' game!

https://scratch.mit.edu/users/alongcat/

I created using Scratch coding today. All artworks and sound effects from Scratch sample. Finally, learned how to add score by adding, "Score" variable. I also did some editing on my other games that I've created. Check them out if you haven't!

If you're interested or want your kids to learn then check out the site and some of the books available below on coding with Scratch. It's really fun and I've really learned a lot since, I bought my arduino and raspberry pi 3 package.

I also bought myself the BBC Micro:bit and learn coding using their javascripts block. Definitely, a lot of resources and products you can buy for yourself or for your children to learn while they're still young. Make 2018 a year of learning coding!

Scratch Coding - My Car Blockage Game demo gameplay

scratch coding cards creative coding activities for kids

Hey guys,

Check it out!

I've created another game called, "Car Blockage" using scratch!

It's a pretty simple game. I was actually thinking of making a flappy bird clone but end up doing a car game that you can control using the keyboard arrow keys. The aim of the game is to not get hit by the road blockage. If you're hit, it's game over!

You can play the game from the link below:

https://scratch.mit.edu/users/alongcat/

I'm really getting the hang of it. But, of course, the more project you can think of, the more you'll learn. It's really fun and easy once you know the basic functions. Million of kids and even adults like me are learning to code with scratch. Come join and be a scratcher!

Check out these books and scratch coding cards for kids!

I'll be creating more games that are mostly related to games that I myself like to play like brick breaker, car racing, space invaders and many more. In fact, I was actually thinking of the old spectrum game while making car blockage.

Zx spectrum games are actually pretty simple but very replayable. If i can get that kind of philosophy into creating my games, I'll be happy. All the while, I was thinking of making it as simple as possible without complicating myself with coding.

If you have kids, get them into coding with scratch!

Check out Kano computer kit and let your children learn programming and coding via Kano OS!

Scratch is the wildly popular educational programming language used in millions of homes and schools worldwide to create interactive art, stories, games, simulations, and music videos. With "The Scratch Activity Cards," a colorful 52-card deck, kids work through beginner-friendly coding projects.

Simple activities like a Racing Game, Hide and Seek, Pong, and a fun Dance Party grab a young programmer's attention while they learn about core programming concepts like variables, flow control, and subroutines.

This fun and straightforward introduction to coding break projects down into step-by-step instructions and the collection can be easily shared among small groups at home or in school. Learning how to write code can be frustrating for beginners, but Scratch's graphic, block-based approach lets kids gain confidence in their skills as they learn the ropes.

For teachers and parents looking to introduce young people to coding, this engaging set of activities is the perfect first step into the world of creative coding with Scratch, encouraging kids to think creatively, reason systematically, and work collaboratively. For Ages 8 and Up.

Gift your kids a head start into coding!

Meet along the cat - Fun coding with Scratch in Kano OS

scratch coding cards creative coding activities for kids

Hey guys,

Check it out!

Today, I learned a bit of programming by using Scratch. I've also managed to do a quick simple story game that you can even try out. I've uploaded it at:

https://scratch.mit.edu/projects/174348180/

Note: Feel free to visit my above, scratch site. I will be updating my, "along the cat" stories constantly. As, I learned more command, I'll add it to existing file and also for new stories. So, feel free to visit again anytime!

There are many books on scratch coding. Especially, about creating games. My favorite subject. Check out some of them below:

My scratch project are just a start. And, people can actually add to it if they want to. I didn't really set out to learn scratch today. I was trying out the snake game on Kano OS and then later on, decided to check out scratch. I'm beginning to understand, what I'm actually doing. :p

It's all thanks to Kano!

I'm slowly learning to code starting with the simple pong game. Kano, instructions is really easy to follow. For a newbie like me, it can sometime be a bit frustrating. But, children today can learn really fast. Check it out for yourself and let your kids learn programming the fun way!
