NDS lite DIY Replacement Transparent housing shell

New Full Housing Case Cover Shell with Buttons Replacement Parts for Nintendo DS Lite NDSL Game Console-Crystal Clear

Hey guys

Check it out!

Finally, did my very own DIY, NDS lite replacement transparent housing shell, and boy it's really an experience. Especially, if you're the type don't have patient like me. Also, I'm short-sighted (Wikipedia), that' doesn't help too.

Guys, if you really want to do this, it's possible but you'll have to plan everything. Like putting each set of screws separately and not losing them. In spite of that, it's actually good practice for stripping electronic devices apart.

I'm technically trained and we're supposed to count the screws and label them or whatever. But, being the lazy type. I just put them aside and end up losing and forgetting which screws belong to where. If you have a magnifying glass, that would be great too. They're all pretty small. Obviously.

Screws are not the main problem though. Because the mainboard and the main screen are separated into two parts. And, the hassle is with the cables. I had a little problem with the black wire because they put it below the game card connector.

I didn't want to cut any wires or taking out the video cable. It's not as if I have spare parts for them. But, I had no choice. I only realize the video cable connector can just be flip-up. Also, the damn video cable had to go through the left side of the hinge.

Once, you get the hang of it, after several tries, I managed to get all the relevant wires to go through the left hinge housing. I also did my own wiring management. Use, my own scotch tape so that they won't block when closing the shell.

A couple of times, I had to unscrew and redo the housing shell because I forget some parts like the shoulders buttons with its springs (tension control) and the power or volume control. Like I said, the more you do it, the more you get better at it.

I also learn not to screw in before everything is check and tested. Oh yeah, don't throw away your old housing shell. They're actually useful for referring to how the thing actually works. That's how I discovered that you need to screw the right hinge cover which I don't remember taking out in the first place.

I also refer to the old parts to know how the directional and control buttons work. I'm glad I didn't throw away the buttons silicon part. It wasn't included with the new shell. So, I just washed it and reused it again.

Again, playing with the Raspberry Pi actually makes me realize how all the device actually works the same. When I look at the board, it reminds me of the raspberry pi and other parts that I used to play with. You can even make your own portable retro gaming device with it. Cool!

One thing for sure, if you want to do the housing shell replacement is that you need the tools. The one that I bought, the 17-1 toolset was really useful. I actually broke one of the plastic prying tools. My mistake, as I used the light one instead of the thicker type.

Well, was it worth it? Since I succeeded in spite of some hair-pulling moments, I would say yes. Nothing but a feeling of success. Also, it looks pretty cool with the new transparent housing. Don't you think so?

My next project might be the GBC or PSP 2000 transparent replacement housing shell. I'm actually surprised that you still have all these parts available online. I mean, are there markets for them even though, they're 'old' gaming devices?

What you guys think?

Repair kit for nintendo switch 17 in 1 tools

Nintendo Screwdriver Set-Younik Triwing Screwdriver for Nintendo 17 in 1 Professional Screwdriver Game Repair Tools Kit for Nintendo Switch/Nintendo Switch Lite/JoyCon/DS /DS Lite /Wii /GBA

Hey guys,

Check it out!

I decided to order an NDS lite clear housing shell and also the Nintendo Switch repair kit to help me with the project. The repair kit is certainly important as it has all the necessary tools to open the system up.

I'm also thinking of replacing my Switch lite and maybe my old PSP 2000 housing shell too. I've been searching around and there is still housing shell available for all these 'old' portable gaming systems. I'll order them once I decided to change them.

I have never actually opened up any of the portable gaming devices before. I'm willing to take the risk because my NDS lite is already old. My PSP 2000 is also already all beat up. So, although, I'm afraid to fck it up, I'm willing to take the risk.

All this gaming device is pretty sensitive. Especially the mainboard. I suck at soldering, so anything to do with soldering like the one to hack your Switch lite I won't do it. Unless somebody donates me an old one. If you're really interested in hacking, you can try to get used and cheap ones.

I would have preferred an Atomic purple color for my NDS lite new housing shell. But, this transparent case is cool to me too. I just received a message from the delivery company that they already dispatched it out. I thought it would at least arrive tomorrow.

I might do a video of the NDS lite housing shell replacement today. So, look out for that. As this is my first time, I'm not sure what's going to happen. It could take some time. I can actually watch videos of others that have done it before though.

Doing a housing shell replacement is really fun and it's interesting to look at the inside of your gaming device. If you're good at it, you can even provide a service and make money from your skills. Yes, they're already old but some do still play with it.

People are still making and selling parts for all these old portable gaming devices. So, you know the market is still there. Anyway, they have tons of games which got replayability. And, unlike today's games that depend on the internet, retro games don't.

All these old games and gaming devices are still popular even to the younger generations. Some of them have even been ported to new gaming devices like the Nintendo Switch. There are the new versions of game consoles sprouting out everywhere.

In good or bad times, people will still play games. What else can they do? That's why I don't really believe in cloud streaming. I prefer buying a game and playing it offline. I don't really care for multiplayer. If you can't access the internet what then?

I'm glad, I have tons of games to play anytime and anywhere even without the damn internet. Believe me, it's frustrating to realize that you can't play a game because you can't connect online. I end up deleting those stupid games.

For the life of me, I don't know why people would want to watch ads at every interval. Yeah, it's free. I would rather pay, once. Not keep paying for something that's supposed to be already in the game. Game devs today are only interested in milking the cow dry!

Anyway, I can't wait to replace my old NDS lite housing shell and play the good old games again.  Look out for the video and blog on it!

When an old PSP 2000 found in the dumpster does it work?

Hey guys,

Check it out!

My friend told me, somebody, threw away a couple of old and battered PSP 2000 with a couple of games. All of them didn't have battery accept one. And, most didn't even have any battery covers. He didn't found any charging cable too.

In spite of that, I took it all and tried looking for any old charger that could be used at home. I didn't find any. It was only today, months later that I realized the cable used to power my portable monitor has the same type of pin.

So, I tried charging the one PSP with the battery. It seems to charge for a while and then it stops working. Disappointed, I took a look at the other PSP. This one looks kinda new and light. It was a PSP 2000. I tried swapping the battery although I can't close the cover as it's too big.

When I charge it, it seems to work and the battery looks full. I thought, maybe the other that looks like a first-gen PSP was faulty. I tried pulling off the plug and it went dead. That's when I realized, I could power on the PSP 2000 even without the battery.

I wonder if I could instead use the portable charger to power it. Of course, it can. Now, I have a fully working PSP 2000 with games like Tekken Dark Resurrection, Final Fantasy Tactics and Winning Eleven 9. I wish the original owner had bought some racing games.

Well, how lucky could I be? Decades ago, I didn't buy the PSP 2000 partly because the games were pretty expensive. I know, I could have bought hacked games. But, guess, it wasn't worth it. Anyway, I had my other console games.

Now, years later. I could enjoy playing some pretty good games. I actually have the PSP Vita which I traded for my old Alienware M14x gaming laptop with some guy through the net portal. It came with some games. My laptop was getting old and the guy PS Vita was actually still new. Not a bad bargain I guess.

Anyway, I'm going to enjoy playing some old PSP 2000 game this few days. Get your own PSP 2000 via the links below!

Like they say, old is GOLD!

This gaming console might be old but they're gold to some people. Especially, when they didn't get the chance to buy or play it before. This pretty much reminds me of the old days when my family couldn't afford such gaming consoles.

You either play it in the arcade or some friend house who do have them. Time has changed. So have the gaming world. Now, everyone can play good console-level games on their mobile phone. Although, the Free-to-play, pay to upgrade or watch ads to play really suckz nowadays.

At least, there are still good games available on a real console like the Xbox, PS4, Nintendo Switch, and the gaming PC!
