ElecFreaks Micro:bit Tinker Kit is a set of Micro:bit accessory that enables you to connect all kinds of modules easily without a group of messy breadboard wires.
It can be used for classroom teaching. Students can use this kit to create or complete more projects assigned by their teachers. And for DIY beginners, it provided abundant sources to make electronic artworks and practice their ideas.
Micro:bit board is lauched by BBC which has abundant board resources like 5*5 LED metric dot array, 2 buttons, USB ports etc.. It is only pocket size but very powerful. You can program, customize or control it at well.
ElecFreaks Micro:bit Breakout Board (Octopus:bit)completely match with BBC Micro:bit pins. Plug our breakout board into BBC Micro:bit, you will find it is much more convenient to lead.
OCTOPUS PIR Sensor module is a type of electronic building block based on AM412 pyroelectric digital smart sensor. It can be used in sensing and detection of human or animal motion, sensing distance is about 4-5 meters.
Get one now and immediately start your own project with all the available parts. Cool!
Finally, created my first game. Micro: bit breaker!
Okay, it might not mean much to you. But, it is for me. I've been trying to learn to create my own game for a long time. I'm not a pro coder. In fact, I was actually trying to create the space invaders and it didn't work out.
So, I tried dabbling again with the javascript blocks editor to create a version of the brick breaker. Voila!
It's not perfect though. It plays kind of weird. The good thing is, I can keep working on it and learn along the way. While making the bit breaker, I realized a few things that I can do for my bit racing game. I'll be dabbling more on that later on.
Visit microbit.org if you're interested to learn how to make a game for your micro bit!
You can use javascript blocks editor or micro python. Javascript blocks editor is easier. As it's like playing with a jigsaw puzzle. It also includes a micro: bit simulator. You can test out whatever project you've created before downloading and send the .hex file to your micro: bit.
If you're interested to check out or download my micro: bit breaker game then follow the link below.
My next game might be the micro: bit racing. Learned, a few things while making the bit breaker. Subscribe to my blog or youtube.com/freaker126 channel for the latest blog post updates!
Micro: bit is so much fun!
I'll be getting my beaglebone blue today. So, stay tuned for my beaglebone blue blog post and video demos!
Just playing around with the javascript block. I'm waiting for my micro: bit to arrive and will try to upload the code to it. Meanwhile, you can play around with the editor and even see it works on the emulator. Cool!
I'm having fun tinkering with raspberry pi 3 and the picamera. Watch my demo video!
If you also have an arduino, you can even use it combined with the pi. My picamera are connected to my raspberry pi while the servo are controlled by arduino. I've been googling and checking out sample python code and finally decided to try it out.
If you want to learn how to control the picamera using python then click here. For controlling, arduino servo using python, check out this site. Remember, to change the "ser.port = 'COM4'" to your own arduino port. This code include the "gui" controller. Pretty handy.
In my video, I used the arduino sample sweep motion code to let the camera move from 0 to 180 degrees both sides. This way, the camera can get a full picture of my room. If you used it as a security camera, you can even get a full view of your front house. A cheap diy security camera!
You can code the picamera to take video or picture. Can even use sensor that will activate the camera if there's movement around or inside your house. But, I haven't learn that part yet. If you use ssh, you can even watch the video stream on your phone. I've been using VNC viewer to access my pi.
I'm really into learning python now. Playing with raspberry pi and even arduino have helped in applying what I have learned. A couple month back (last year), I downloaded the free python software, but I didn't know head or tail and how to use it.
Now, I've learned enough to build my own smart car robot. I even thought, it'll be hard but, it was actually fun. Of course, in the new year, I want to learn more. I still haven't build my own quadcopter yet. Just need to get the parts. I've also been looking at other products like the BBC Micro:Bit.
Looks like fun to learn using micropython and javascripts block. You can even build a smart robot with it. But you'll need a motor shield for it. You might want to check out the products offering by Kitronik. BBC Micro:Bit currently are very popular in the U.K!
I'll definitely get myself a beaglebone blue. It's for my quadcopter project. A little troublesome, because they don't have any drone kit to go with the beaglebone blue. I'm still looking around for anything I like. If only, I get a sponsor. There're so many things, I want to try out. :p
From color-coding to advanced programming, this smart and social robot will have kids exploring the imaginative side of robotics while connecting with friends through OzoChat.
Anyway, don't forget to watch my video and subscribe to my blog and youtube channel!
