Nintendo switch lite smilebasic 4 with keyboard test

Nintendo Switch with Gray Joy‑Con - HAC-001(-01)

Hey guys,

Check it out!

I'm really having fun with SmileBASIC 4 (website) right now. I decided to set up my switch lite like a desktop computer on a mobile stand and connect my keyboard. I was lazy to connect my mouse but it doesn't really matter as the lite is a touchscreen. In any case, I find myself seldom needing it. Although, I kept forgetting and my hand instinctively reach out for it.

Most of the time, I would just play with smileBASIC using the on-screen keyboard. That's what great about learning and coding on a portable switch lite. But, when I connect my keyboard and started learning to use the shortcuts or whatever, it really felt good and fast typing on a real physical keyboard.

One thing I discovered is that with the key F2, I can quickly resize the screen view. That really helps as I'm short-sighted. I can't find a way to do that with the lite controller or on-screen keyboard. Not really sure, if you can even do that.

You can also quickly run the program with F5 and edit with F7. I can't remember which but it's either F8 or F9 to go to the graphic and sounds. Oops. I grab my switch lite for a quick look and discovered that I can actually set it all up on the controller or physical keyboard. Excellente!

                                                                    F7 to edit the code.

F5 to quickly run the program.

Funny. I only realized it now that I can set up and remap the keyboard and controller. That will definitely make me do things a little bit faster. Even then, I seldom remap buttons and controllers even when playing games.

If you look at the pictures above, I set it all up so that I can easily look at the training material above on my computer screen and at my switch lite screen at the same time. An easier and more comfortable way for me to learn.

Hey, if you're learning to code games, might as well do it with style. That's why I'm looking for a cheap gaming mouse & keyboard bundle to use with my switch lite. Even though, I already have a few of them in the house.

Like I've said before, I've got SmileBASIC 4 and FUZE 4 (website) coding program on my switch. Right now, I'm more into smilebasic because I find the command much easier to remember and code. I'll take a look at FUZE 4 later on. It's not like I have to take a test or anything. This is all for fun!

I'll be happy if I can finally create my own games and play it on my switch lite. I've actually created my own games using SCRATCH. You can check them out on my scratch site here. Using scratch graphical user interface to code games is way much easier than either smilebasic or Fuze.

SCRATCH is definitely fun and easier for kids and beginners like me. They concentrate more on letting your imagination run wild instead of being bogged down by the intricacy of coding. That doesn't mean, it's all graphical though. You can still take a peek at the codes whenever you want to.

I find learning to code is both exasperating and fun at the same time. I used to think only smart people good at math can code. Okay, in a sense they are. You have to remember all that syntax, commands, modules, keywords, etc.

I'm still having problems understanding most of them. If you ask me to code something out of nothing, I'll be like a baby crawling around the house and shitting on my pampers. For now, I only know how to copy and paste a code.

The good thing is that I don't really feel discouraged. I was, decades ago. But, since I bought a raspberry pi couple of years back and started learning python, I started to get more excited as I managed to code and even make my own robots.

I have a problem with a short attention span and not being disciplined enough. That's part of the reason why my learning coding is really slow. Anyway, I have a lifetime to learn. Again, I'm doing it for fun and I felt it's actually a good workout for my brain to keep thinking and doing this kind of stuff.

In this kind of world, we're living in right now, with the covid-19 pandemic, economics, and chaos. I'm just minding my own business in my nice, quiet, little home playing with codes. Humans are really stupid, wasting their time fighting each other. I don't exactly understand why.

Like, life is short. Why make everything worse for yourself and others?

Lol. Stay safe guys and let's keep coding!
