Ever heard of the Asus Eee Pc mini laptop? Well, it was pretty popular back then. I actually ordered the one in my unboxing video way back in 2007 from Taiwan. I think it was around $500+. I have a thing for a small laptop. It was pretty cool!

It was small and it runs a version of Linux. I forgot what you call them. Anyway, I've tried to install Windows XP and Ubuntu on it. What I really love is the size. I'm not the only one though. Even though it doesn't have high specs but for casual surfing, checking and replying emails it works quite well.

I actually did another video where I installed iTunes on it. You can watch movies, listen to your favorite music, download the latest podcast and so much more. All from a mini laptop with a 7-inch screen. Of course, playing with Linux was something different too.

Nowadays, there are a few 7-inch mini-laptop that have better specs. They even run on windows 10. I'm not sure how smooth or fast they are. But, there's a video of people playing steam games on it. Although, I presume they are running on low-medium settings.

I bet you can play retro games on it. In fact, the first thing I'll do if I have this mini laptop is to install Kodi and Retroarch. Kodi for watching movies and retroarch for retro gaming. Get yourself a Bluetooth controller and voila!

The mini laptop would be great for those who travel a lot. Checking and replying to work emails would be much easier with a keyboard definitely. In fact, link your Whatsapp to the laptop and it'll be easier to communicate with your co-workers, friends, or family members.

Like I said, I don't have this latest mini laptop, but I'm curious if you can mirror Microsoft Your Phone app or use Samsung dex on it without lagging. Samsung dex allows accessing your Samsung android phone on a windows laptop with a desktop UI (user interface). 

If you take photos a lot, you can easily access or download it to your pc or laptop on the go. That's why having a mini laptop would be useful. A great companion for your mobile phone. It sure helps with the weight too. Gone are the days of hauling a brick everywhere you go!

One thing though, I'm still waiting for a transparent, acrylic 7-inch mini laptop. I've been wanting it since I saw one on the movie Hackers owned by Zerocool. That movie is the best and I didn't even know Angelina Jolie was the girl back then.

Looking at it again now, I think the laptop is around 10 inches. Although, the screen is smaller with the speakers at the side? It also looks like it has a full keyboard with the touchpad. Come to think of it, the movie was in 1995. My first pc was around 1996. That laptop would have cost a bomb to make!

I'm surprised, that nobody makes one like this. Not sure if it's actually feasible. It could maybe break easily. But, with the tech capabilities right now. If anyone can do it, probably the Chinese. So, if any of you laptop designers reading this, make one for me!

I did a quick research and found out that the clear-case laptop might actually be an Apple Powerbook Duo. You can read up more on the product back then on Wikipedia. I also remembered my ex GF, sis bought a MacBook that also has both macOS and windows on it. That was in the late 1990s. Cool though.
