Solaray Calcium, Magnesium, Zinc For Leg Cramps and Sleepless Nights!

Solaray® Calcium, Magnesium, Zinc | High Absorption with Glutamic Acid | Healthy Bones, Teeth, Nerve, Muscle, Heart & Immune Function Support | 250ct

Hey guys,

Check it out!

Well, it's confirmed. Solaray, calcium magnesium & Zinc does make my late night cramps go away. At the same time, it helps me to sleep. I should have asked the pharmacy a long time ago. All along, I've been using a chinese medicinal ointment to help soothe my legs.

I've posted about Solaray before. But, I wasn't sure then as I was recommended this product by a pharmacist. I tried it out and it does work. I've had bad leg cramps at night for so long. I couldn't sleep until 3am. Had to walk around the house like a zombie in the dark.

A swimming instructor told me, I'm having the same symptoms as his students. It's probably because I lose too many salt (perspiring) in the day. So, he advises me to drink seaweed water or drink salt water. I tried putting salt in my tap water and for a while, it works or so it seems.

On bad days, it didn't work. Even after repeating putting ointment on my legs. That's when I decided to finally ask a pharmacist if they had something for my cramps. She recommended me to try Solaray Calcium Magnesium & zinc and finally, I could sleep peacefully!

She advises me to take one in the day and another at night. But, it didn't initially stop my cramps. I decided to try taking it only at night when I'm having leg cramps. I'll take one first. If it's so bad, I'll take two. I almost instantly fall asleep. It works!

I don't really like to take any kind of pills or health products. I don't like to depend on them too much. But, since it helps soothes my cramps and also my sleep. I'm happy to take it. Also, it helps with the bones and teeth keeping them healthy. Win-win situation!

Try it out!

When the Night Won’t Let Me Rest: Cramps, Frequent Urges, and My Acupressure Mat Rescue

When the Night Won’t Let Me Rest: Cramps, Frequent Urges, and My Acupressure Mat Rescue

When the Night Won’t Let Me Rest: Cramps, Frequent Urges, and My Acupressure Mat Rescue

(All links will open up in a new tab.)

Lately, I’ve been having horrible nights because of my cramps. And as if that wasn’t enough, I keep needing to pee the whole night too. Sleep has turned into a battle. I’ve tried my usual tricks — drinking Pocari, placing a towel below my leg, and wearing compression sleeves — and my fallback is calcium, magnesium, and zinc pills, which often do the trick.

One thing I forgot I already owned is my acupressure mat — I bought it years ago, but never really used it for sleeping. A few nights ago, I decided to lie on it. Yes, it’s a little painful at first, but as the minutes pass, it soothes my cramps and leg pain. It also seems to relieve some shoulder tension. The first night, for the first time in several nights, I could finally sleep.

At work, a Chinese uncle recommended using it for health benefits. He said something like: “If you feel pain, your body has a health issue. The less pain, the better.” I laughed and told him, “My body has many issues, lol 😆.” But I’m slowly coming around to his logic.

Understanding What's Happening — and Why an Acupressure Mat Might Help

What causes the cramps + frequent urination combo?

It’s a bit tricky to pin everything down. Some possibilities:

  • Hormonal fluctuations (especially if your cycle is a factor)

  • Electrolyte imbalance (which is why I reach for magnesium, calcium, zinc)

  • Muscle tension and spasms

  • Possible irritation or inflammation in the pelvic/urinary areas

  • Stress, poor sleep, posture — all of which can make pain and sensitivity worse

Because cramp pain is partly due to muscle contraction, reduced blood flow, and nerve sensitivity, anything that helps relax muscles or improves circulation might offer relief.

Why acupressure mats might work (and what the evidence says)

Acupressure mats are like modern “beds of nails” — covered in small, firm plastic points that press into many skin points when you lie down. They mimic acupressure (but without using needles). (Medical News Today)

Here’s what some sources and small studies suggest:

  • They can ease muscle tension, promote relaxation, and improve local blood flow. (GoodRx)

  • Some users report better sleep, less pain, and reduced stress after using them. (Chatelaine)

  • There is limited scientific evidence, especially for specific uses (e.g., menstrual cramps), so claims have to be taken cautiously. (Medical News Today)

  • One small study suggested acupressure (on hands/feet) may reduce menstrual pain. (Medical News Today)

  • Some acupressure-mat sellers claim relief can begin after ~20 minutes of use. (Shakti Mat)

So: it’s not a guaranteed cure-all, but for many people it offers relief — something you can try in addition to other treatments (not instead of medical advice).

Tips for using the mat safely and effectively

  • Start with a thin cloth or T-shirt between your skin and the mat until you feel comfortable.

  • Lie down gently and let your body settle, distributing weight evenly.

  • Use it for shorter durations at first (5–10 minutes), then gradually increase.

  • Focus on the back, legs, or areas where cramps are strongest.

  • Breathe deeply and relax — tension will reduce effectiveness.

  • If any area feels sharp pain (not just discomfort), stop or reduce pressure.

  • Avoid using on broken skin, open wounds, or areas with severe inflammation.

  • If you’re pregnant, have circulatory disorders, skin conditions, or other serious health issues, check with a doctor first.

Also: combining acupressure with techniques like heat therapy (a warm towel or heating pad), gentle stretching, hydration, magnesium/calcium, and rest can amplify benefits.

How to use it on a Cramp Night (Ideal Routine)

Here’s a sample routine I’m trying:

  1. About 30 minutes before I go to bed, I place the mat on the bed (or floor if more comfortable).

  2. Wear something light, then gradually lie down so my lower back and legs contact the spikes.

  3. Breathe, relax, maybe shift slightly to catch different spots.

  4. Use for 15–20 minutes, or until I feel muscles relaxing and warmth spreading.

  5. After the mat, follow with a warm compress or gentle stretching.

  6. Slip into bed (or stay on the mat if comfortable) and let the relief help me drift off.

Some nights I lie more on my back, some nights I let my legs bend or shift. The trick is to listen to my body. For me, I lie sideways and let the spikes or plastic pebbles press against the side of my legs. Usually, within minutes, I'll fall asleep.

Solaray Calcium Magnesium & Zinc for Leg Cramps!

Solaray - Calcium Magnesium Zinc,250 capsules

Hey guys,

Do you have leg cramps at night and having difficulty sleeping?

So do I!

I've been having leg cramps since decades ago. I'm not sure why. Maybe, I'm getting old?

A swimming instructor told me to drink seaweeds water. Apparently, his students have same problem as mine and he thought it could be because of loss of salts in our body. He even encourage me to drink salt water.

I actually tried it for awhile but stop after it didn't work. I did some research on causes of leg cramps and found this site. Pretty much explains what it's all about. For me, it's not really that painful but I'm having problem sleeping because of it.

I would walk around in a doze at 3:00 am because, the pain was unbearable. If I could sleep while standing, I would. Lucky for me, I didn't fell and hurt myself. I walked and stand a lot at work and it seems to get worse until I finally decided to quit my job.

Nowadays, it's a bit better but I do still have leg cramps. Finally, I decided to go to a pharmacy store and asked the lady if they have anything to help with my problem. She thought for awhile and recommended me to try out Solaray - Calcium Magnesium & zinc.

Solaray - Calcium Magnesium Zinc,250 capsules

"Calcium, magnesium, and zinc are three of the most important minerals the body needs to gain and maintain good health. Calcium and magnesium help maintain healthy bones while zinc is essential for cell division and growth. Zinc is an essential element needed to support the body's immune system."

She gave me the special edition with an extra small bottle of 100 capsules. I thought, wad de heck, and bought it. I even gave the small 100 capsules to my sis, who's having the same problem. The pharmacist told me to take two every night (I can't remember what she actually said).

Sometime, I would eat more and even tried couple of hours before sleeping. Soon, I decided to try taking one because I wanted to save up. This really help me cope with the pain although, often time, I'll try not to take it. I don't really like having to depend on supplements.

Nowadays, I go to bed early if my legs start to get cramp while sitting long hours in front of my computer. I discovered, taking one pill before sleeping, will soothe my legs and also actually help me sleep pretty fast!

As much, I don't like depending on supplements, Solaray really help me soothe my cramps and I don't have to walk around at 3:00 am like a zombie anymore. If you're having the same problem as me, try it out!

Please consult your doctor or pharmacist before taking any extra supplements. Especially, if you have any kind of allergies etc. This is what works for me, and I have taken it for almost a year. I believe, any calcium magnesium zinc would help with leg cramps. I might be wrong as I'm no medical expert.

If you're interested to try it out, order it via the link provided below:

LEG CRAMPS - EMEI BONE-STRENGTHENING PLASTER

EMEI BONE-STRENG THENING PLASTER 5 PATCHES 7CM X 10 CM 峨嵋壮骨膏 5 片装

Hey guys,

The other day, I posted about my problem with leg cramps. Especially, at night and even in the day. I used to have bad leg cramps that make me stay awake till 3 am in the morning. I've tried everything, from spraying cold water and using ice.

Finally, I went to a pharmacy and ask them if there's anything that could help me. The lady (pharmacist), recommended me to try out Solaray, calcium and magnesium zinc. And, it works. Personally, I don't like to depend on pills. But, if it helps.

I've also found another solutions for my constant leg cramps. Especially, when I sit too long and it could cause my hamstrings and calves to tighten up. You might have heard of it. Emei, bone strengthening plaster.

I used it almost everyday now. It's also much cheaper then buying pills. Of course, if it hurts too much, I always eat solaray as backup. Here's a tip. I don't use the whole plaster patch at one go. Instead, I cut it up to tiny little pieces and paste it on certain point of my calves and hamstrings.

I'm not sure why, but it soothes my cramps. Sometime, I even forget to take it off and only realized that I had it on while bathing. Cutting it to little pieces will save you some money too. Although, it's already pretty cheap.

Try it out!

Dr Desai Explains Lapiplasty A New Way to Correct Bunions

OS1st Bunion Relief Socks (One Pair) with Split-Toe Design and Bunion pad to Relieve Toe Friction and Bunion/Hallax Valgus Pain (Black, Large)

Hey guys,

Check it out!

First off, I'm not a doctor. My blog is also actually a Games & Tech blog. But, sometimes, I post about some of my health problems here. Kinda like seeing a therapist. It's always good to share your problem with others. Of course, if you're interested to listen or rather read.

The thing is, by sharing, you might actually help others that are having the same problem. I've posted about my constant leg cramps at night before. I would have bad leg cramps until the wee hour of the morning and couldn't sleep. That's when I decided to ask a pharmacist if there's anything that could help.

Natural Nutra Calcium Magnesium Zinc Supplement with Vitamin D3 for Bone Strength, Healing and Health, Gluten-Free and Sugar-Free, Essential Mineral Complex, 1000/500/25 mg, 100 Tablets (3 Pack)

The lady pharmacist thought about it for a while and then finally recommend me to try out the Calcium Magnesium and Zinc vitamins. I thought what the heck and decided to try it out. Lo and behold, it actually works. Although, I didn't follow her exact instructions on how and when to eat.

I found out myself that I should eat one at night before I sleep and ONLY when I started to get cramps. If it didn't stop the cramp the first time around, I'll then take another and normally up to three. That's when it's really bad.

OS1st Bunion Relief Socks (One Pair) with Split-Toe Design and Bunion pad to Relieve Toe Friction and Bunion/Hallax Valgus Pain (Black, Large)

Normally, it'll work with just one pill. The weird thing is that it actually makes me feel sleepy. So, I'll fall asleep after taking them. Calcium, Magnesium, and Zinc which are also good for your bones also solve my sleeping problem. Read up on my old post about my cramps here.

Anyway, recently I had a problem with my right toe or Bunion to be exact, and couldn't walk without feeling pain for 3 days. I still feel a bit of the sensation of pain but, at least I can walk again. After that, I started to feel pain in my left knee again. So, I had to go through a bloody week of pain.

Bunion Balm Nighttime Moisturizing & Healing Cream for Bunions (Step 2 of 2-Step)

I discovered I had the toe problem since I was a schoolboy. It will come and go but it got worse when I was enlisted in the military. I always thought that I was born with defects. It was only recently that I found out that the name for it was Bunion and a lot of people have this same problem.

The recent pain I experience makes me decide to try out several ways to ease the pain without surgery. One of the videos on surgery by Dr. Desai is the one I'm sharing above in this blog post. You might want to watch it before deciding if you really want an expensive surgery.

ZSZBACE Bunion Corrector and Bunion Splint for Bunion Relief - Bunion Toe Straighteners and Bunion Pads - Relieve Foot Pain and Soothe Sore Bunions

I actually just ordered this type of Bunion Corrector and can't wait to try it out. There are some good and bad reviews but to me, you need to try it out yourself. It may work for you but not for others. I might actually want to try out several of these Bunion correctors.

When I did research on some of the designs, you have to see how it gonna suits your lifestyle. I don't think some of them can be worn or used for working. Maybe, you can get the socks type with a toe separator. How bout the Gel pad with toe brace cushion.

PediDoc Bunion Corrector – Bunion Relief Sleeves Bunion Pads Brace Cushions Toe Straightener with Gel Toe Separator, Spacer, Straightener, and Spreader – Hallux Valgus Relief Big Toe Alignment

When I'm not working, I don't wear shoes. I wore crocs. Now, I realized after I stop wearing shoes and start wearing crocs, I seldom feel toe pain. Tight shoes will of course make your Bunion much worse. The good thing is that there are gel pads and silicone toe separators.

The Gel Toe Separators are pretty nifty since you can wear them with a shoe. So, you can wear it for work and maybe lessen the pain. I wouldn't know, I've never tried it. If google exists like 40 years earlier, I would have discovered what a Bunion is.

Dr. Frederick's Original Nighttime Bunion Splints - 2 Double-Stitched Velcro Bunion Correctors - Bunion Relief for Bedtime - for Men & Women

If I have known earlier about the Bunion problem, I would have informed the military medical officer during my medical check-up. Or when the pain got worse, usually after training. One of my buddies back then told me that, it might get worse physically when I'm old.

Of course, he was right. This is what happens when you ignore the pain thinking it will just go away. Now, I have to find a way not to make it much worse or I might have no choice but to go for surgery. Like I say, it's not a simple process. And like some people say, surgery might actually make it worse!

Surgery is always a last resort. I managed not to have surgery because of my minor slip disc, my fck up knees, broken nose, and my right wrist tendonitis. My right wrist seems ok now. I found out, I had it when I went to visit the local clinic. I also discovered my nose was broken after being referred to a nose specialist. Yup, that is funny. It's a long story. Lol.
