GPD Win Max - The Ultimate Portable Mini Gaming Laptop?

GPD Win Max [512GB SSD Storage] Mini Handheld Windows 10 Video Game Console Gameplayer 8 Inch 1280 × 800 Touch Screen Laptop Notebook UMPC Tablet PC CPU Intel i5-1035G7 16GB RAM

Hey guys,

Check it out!

Is GPD WIN MAX the ultimate portable mini gaming laptop? To me, the answer is, Yes!

Although, I think they could make it better. Don't get me wrong, it's actually already pretty good. I've seen videos of people playing Doom and Witcher on this 8-inch mini laptop. I would really love to download some of my favorite STEAM games like DIRT 2 and play them on this laptop.

Of course, the added bonus is that you have an integrated controller on the laptop itself. I've heard that the control is pretty good with rumble effects and clicky thumbstick. Just hope that the controller is easy to repair when it's faulty.

  • Our GPD Win Max's CPU: Intel Core i5-1035G7, 4 Cores/8 Threads, Base Frequency 1.20 GHz Max Turbo Frequency Up to 3.7Ghz. Graphics: Intel Iris Plus 940,Up to 1.05 GHz, DirectX 12 OpenGL 4.5.
  • Our GPD Win Max is Equipped with 3×5000mAh large-capacity and high-density polymer lithium batteries; About 10-14 hours of battery life, It should depend on the actual working conditions.
  • Network: 802.11 a/ac/b/g/n, 2.4G/5G Dual-band wifi, Maximum transmission rate of 867Mbps.
  • I/O: 1 x Thunderbolt 3, 1x USB Type-C 3.1 Gen2, 2x USB Type-A 3.1 Gen1, 1x MicroSDXD (A2) Slot, 1x HDMI 2.0b, 1x RJ45 ; 3.5mm Headset & Microphones.
  • 8 inches H-IPS Technology touchscreen, Resolution: 1280 x 800. RAM/ROM: 16GB/512GB. Only 829 g, Easy to Take In Your Pocket On the GO !!
There's a video showing some kind of problem with the keyboard. Don't really understand what the problem is but I hope they solve it. The keyboard is part of the reason I like it more than the GPD WIN 2. Yes, you definitely buy the GPD WIN MAX for gaming but it's also a laptop with good specs.

GPD Win 2 [256GB M.2 SSD Storage] Mini Handheld Windows 10 Video Game Console Gameplayer 6" Laptop Notebook Tablet PC CPU M3-8100Y intel HD Graphics 615 8GB/256GB

Talking about specs, that's another area I hope they improve or change on. Not sure why they haven't tried AMD Ryzen and Radeon Vega integrated mobile graphics. There's a product called AYA NEO that's built with AMD Ryzen 5 and Vega 5.

Frankly, I don't want another Nintendo Switch clone product. That's what AYA NEO or the GPD WIN 3 is. I'll rather stick with my favorite Nintendo Switch lite. Which I use for gaming and watching youtube videos at night.

One day, hopefully, they'll have the kind of specs you find in a gaming laptop like the Asus ROG Zephyrus G14. Is it possible? Why not. The technology is getting better and faster. But, they have to solve the heating problem.

Asus says they have the new liquid metal cooling system. So, that might also work for the GPD WIN MAX type of design. An RBG keyboard and LED lighted controller would also be cool. Especially, if you play in the dark.

Razer Wolverine V2 Wired Gaming Controller for Xbox Series X: Remappable Front-Facing Buttons - Mecha-Tactile Action Buttons and D-Pad - Hair Trigger Mode with Trigger Stop-Switches - Black

I was thinking if I should just get the One Netbook One Mix 3 Pro which has a 'normal' laptop design but, the GPD WIN MAX integrated controller is actually kinda useful if you don't want the hassle of having to bring along a controller when you're out and about.

Imagine if you're on a train or a bus, wouldn't it much easier to pop out the GPD WIN MAX and start playing? You don't have to put the laptop on your lap, pair it and hold a controller to play. There are some situations having an integrated controller would be pretty nifty.

Last but not least, I hope they change the screen to a rotating type. So that I can use it as a tablet. Will be better to watch movies or youtube. If you the type to write notes or an artist, the ability will be a plus. And another thing is where's the webcam?

People nowadays do a lot of video-calling and even live streaming. So, instead of having to buy a webcam, just add an integrated front camera. Definitely, if the GPD WIN MAX has all of these, it'll definitely be my new ultimate portable mini gaming laptop!

GPD WIN MAX Vs One Netbook One Mix 3 PRO

GPD Win Max [512GB SSD Storage] Mini Handheld Windows 10 Video Game Console Gameplayer 8 Inch 1280 × 800 Touch Screen Laptop Notebook UMPC Tablet PC CPU Intel i5-1035G7 16GB RAM

Hey guys,

Check it out!

I think I've found my new favorite 7 Inch portable gaming laptop. Actually, its screen is an 8-inch H-IPS touchscreen. Which is actually a plus. But, what's more, intriguing is that it has an integrated gaming controller. Just like my Nintendo Switch lite albeit a little weird and awkward looking.

Frankly, I've been thinking if it's much better to get the latest One Netbook One Mix 3 PRO. This thing can also possibly play any triple-A games too. Also, it looks more like a normal laptop than the GPD WIN MAX. The difference is, of course, you'll need to bring along an external controller.

There is actually a GPD WIN 3 and an AYA NEO which has more of a Nintendo Switch design. They're not ready for the market yet. And of course, there's the OneGx1 pro-7-inch gaming laptop. A new version has a Tiger lake (Wikipedia) mobile processor that is much more powerful.

I've been wondering why there isn't any AMD Ryzen processor or GPU version? I look at some of the available 7-inch laptops and compared them with my HP AMD Ryzen 7 with Radeon Rx Vega 10 and they're not really that far off. I'm pretty sure they can fit it into the 7-8 inch mini laptop.

One Netbook A1 Engineer PC 7" Pocket PC Laptop UMPC Mini Portable Touch Screen Notebook Fingerprint Sensor CPU Intel Core M3-8100Y Windows 10 System 8GB RAM/256GB

The AYA NEO is actually using an AMD Ryzen 5 processor with Radeon 5. So, I'm pretty sure they can bump it up the same as my HP 15.6 Inch laptop. Which as I've stated above have a Ryzen 7 and Radeon 10. It's still not as good as my favorite Asus ROG Zephyrus G14 but, they're definitely getting closer.

There are certain things that I would like the GPD WIN MAX to change or maybe improve. One thing is that I want a rotating touch screen. So that I can use it as a tablet. Useful, when I just want to watch youtube or movies. The second is that I'm pretty sure they can make it much thinner and lighter like the One Mix 3 Pro.

ASUS ROG Zephyrus G14 14" Ultra-Slim Gaming Laptop | 8-Core AMD Ryzen 9 4900HS | GeForce RTX 2060 | 120 Hz |24GB DDR4 RAM, 1024GB PCIE SSD, Backlit, Bundled with WOOV Sleeve, Windows 10, Lunar White

A little something like the One Netbook A1 Engineer PC design. One reason I like the GPD WIN MAX compared to the GPD WIN 3 or AYA NEO is that the WIN MAX has a better keyboard. I don't want another Nintendo Switch clone. I want something not just for gaming but used as a portable computer too.

Also, a webcam would be nice. Nowadays, because of the coronavirus pandemic, a lot of people are into video-calling. I myself like to video-call my nephew while on my laptop. It's actually more fun to be able to see and talk to each other.

A good camera might also be useful for live streaming or taking and editing videos. Like I say, these mini laptops are not just for gaming. The fact they have become more powerful means you can do more than just watching youtube or checking emails.

I'm really excited about the future of the 7-inch mini (gaming) laptop. Definitely gone are the days of a bulky gaming laptop that also cost a bomb. Now, if only these companies would like to sponsor and send me one of these mini laptops. :p

CES 2021 ASUS ROG Flow X13 Compact is the New Impact

Newest Asus ROG Zephyrus M15 15.6" FHD 240Hz IPS Premium Gaming Laptop, 10th Gen Intel Core i7-10750H, 16GB RAM, 1TB PCIe SSD, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2070 Max-Q 8GB GDDR6, RGB Backlit Keyboard, Windows 10

Hey guys,

Check it out!

In CES 2021, ASUS ROG announced among others the Flow X13 gaming laptop. There is also an external GPU for it called XG Mobile. Just like the Razer Blade Stealth. Although, the ASUS external GPU is much smaller and portable. They even have a special messenger bag for it. Pretty nifty.

Unlike the Razer Blade Stealth though, the Flow X13 is a 2-in-1 laptop. You can flip the screen and use it as a tablet. That means it also has a touchscreen. I used to love small laptops. The smaller the better.
It's because of the portability.

Newest Asus ROG Zephyrus M15 15.6" FHD 240Hz IPS Premium Gaming Laptop, 10th Gen Intel Core i7-10750H, 16GB RAM, 1TB PCIe SSD, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2070 Max-Q 8GB GDDR6, RGB Backlit Keyboard, Windows 10

I bought my Alienware M14x because it was one of the smallest laptops available back then, besides the M11x. Which they stop production before I could get my hand on one. It also has a cool black design and I love running my hands over it.

Nowadays, there are many good gaming laptops but it really depends on your preferences and budgets. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I don't really like out of the world design. For example, I got the chance to look at the latest Macbook with an M1 chip and it's really light with a nice cool design.

ASUS - ROG Zephyrus G14 14" Gaming Laptop - AMD Ryzen 9 - 16GB Memory - NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060 - 1TB SSD - Moonlight White

If I had the money, I would have got the ROG Zephyrus G14" gaming laptop. It has one of those sleek, zen-like design. I also like the Anime matrix. Asus ROG also announced the latest Zephyrus G14 with the latest design and new AMD Ryzen 9 and Nvidia GTX 3060 GPU specs.

Bro, the only thing you need is to sell one of your kidneys and you'll get the laptop of your dream with the highest specs possible. The last laptop I bought before my current HP was my Acer Spin 1 with Intel N4200 and HD 505. It's a 2-in-1 laptop which I never actually used.

2020 Asus ROG Zephyrus G15 Gaming 15.6” FHD Laptop Computer, AMD Ryzen 7-4800HS, 40GB RAM, 2TB SSD, Backlit Keyboard, SmartAmp Audio, GeForce RTX 2060, Windows 10 Pro, Black, 32GB SnowBell USB Card

I couldn't even afford the G14 with specs from the last 3 years. But, now the latest specs for 2021 are pretty mind-blowing. AMD is really ramping it up these past few years. I have tried Intel, AMD, and Nvidia graphic cards, and re-playing some old games becomes more satisfying.

Since I've got the HP 15.6 inch screen laptop, I now realized the kind of laptop and features that I like or good for me. First off, the 15.6-inch screen is much better for my poor eyesight. Yup, no more small laptop for me. One thing for sure is that they have become much slimmer and lighter.

ASUS ROG Zephyrus Duo 15 Gaming Laptop, 15.6” 300Hz IPS Type FHD, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2070S, Intel Core i7-10875H, 32GB DDR4, 2TB RAID 0 SSD, Per-Key RGB, Thunderbolt 3, Windows 10, GX550LWS-XS79

Now, I also love the fingerprint feature. I don't like them at first because they don't really work well. But again, my HP laptop happens to have one and I begin to like it so much. It's even better than my Samsung Note 10+ sensor. By the way, my next post might be about the latest Samsung S21!

I also like the laptop webcam. I'm starting to use it to video-call, my family. It's weird that some of the Asus ROG laptops are omitting them. Especially, in this pandemic. The speakers are also getting louder and clearer. Won't need a headphone unless I'm disturbing others sleep. Lol.

I haven't yet check out Razer CES 2021, so stay tuned for any new updates on their latest products. The ASUS Flow X13 has really shown how technology has become smaller and lighter. I even wonder if Nintendo can create something with the latest powerful AMD mobile technology or even with the Exynos 2100 mobile chip?

Pretty Interesting for the future of tech!

ROG CES 2021 Launch Event For Those Who Dare

2021 ASUS ROG Zephyrus 14" VR Ready 120Hz FHD Gaming Laptop,8Core AMD Ryzen 9 4900HS(Beat i7-10750H), 24GB RAM, 1TB PCIe SSD, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060 Max-Q,Backlight,WiFi 6,Win10 +GM Gaming Mouse

Hey guys,

Check it out!

CES 2021 is already on the way and I've actually been sick these past few days. I feel better today and so I think, I can finish this post. I thought I could make it yesterday but decided to just lay down and watch youtube on my bed.

I did manage to finish watching the ROG Ces 2021 launch event and the only thing I"m interested in is the latest laptop. Although the new ROG Claymore II keyboard is kinda interesting with the detachable number pad and you can even switch to the left or right of the keyboard. Pretty nifty.

2021 ASUS ROG Zephyrus 14" VR Ready 120Hz FHD Gaming Laptop,8Core AMD Ryzen 9 4900HS(Beat i7-10750H), 24GB RAM, 1TB PCIe SSD, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060 Max-Q,Backlight,WiFi 6,Win10 +GM Gaming Mouse

Oh, they also have a new mouse, ROG Gladius III wireless, and cable version. I'm really lazy to talk about the detail specs but you can watch the video and let them explain. There's some cool etched design on the left side of the mouse and also the ability to change parts.

If you're looking for a new gaming monitor, you have the ROG Swift PG32UQ. I'm actually thinking of getting a new curve monitor. Not really for gaming, but as my main monitor. I have two portable monitors below my main 23inch Asus HDMI monitor.

Asus ROG Strix XG49VQ 49” Curved Gaming FreeSync Monitor 144Hz Dual Full HD HDR Eye Care with DP HDMI Black

The new ROG Swift PG32UQ has a 4K IPS display, 144 Hz refresh rate, and 1ms moving picture response time. I don't know what the heck that means, but ok. The design looks nice. That's all I care about. Also, wonder if I can hang it on my wall?

Again, the Asus ROG collection of gaming laptops is pretty interesting. They finally have the G15 but why there's no camera or fingerprint sensor? Last year, I bought an HP 15.6 inch laptop and I really like the design and features.

ASUS ROG Gladius II Origin Wired USB Optical Ergonomic FPS Gaming Mouse featuring Aura Sync RGB, 12000 DPI Optical, 50G Acceleration, 250 IPS sensors, and swappable Omron switches, Black

My HP has a fingerprint sensor and I didn't really care about it until I actually use it. I also like the speaker which is pretty loud. In the old days, the laptop used to have poor and small sound quality. But now, they're pretty loud and clear.

Other than that, the next-gen Asus ROG various laptops will have Nvidia GeForce RTX 3080 graphics and AMD Ryzen 9, 5900hx mobile processor. But, dude, they're pretty expensive. I would have bought one if only I had the money.

2021 Flagship Asus ROG Zephyrus 15 Gaming Laptop 15.6" FHD 144Hz IPS AMD 4-Core Ryzen 7 3750H (Beats i7-8750H) 16GB RAM 1TB SSD GTX 1660 Ti MAX-Q 6GB Backlit KB Win 10 + iCarp Wireless Mouse

I just remembered that the ROG gaming laptop does have a fingerprint sensor combined with the power buttons. And some do have a webcam. But, you'll have to check it out yourself before you buy. I've never really seen any of these laptops and sometimes the specs don't say it.

There's a new Zen Duo, ROG Strix G, ROG Flow X13, new design, new powerful specs, size, 90w battery, and even different looks. Now, you can even buy an Asus external GPU, ROG XG mobile that is even smaller and portable from the Razer version, Core X.

I haven't yet check what's new with Razer, so come back often to read my blog and youtube channel. The new Asus products are also not out yet, but I'll update them here whenever possible. I'll be looking for some really cool products in CES 2021 and be posting them here. So stay tuned!

Computing Technology Are Getting Smaller Faster and Lighter

ASUS ROG Zephyrus G14 Gaming and Entertainment Laptop (Ryzen 9 4900HS 32GB-Core, 40GB RAM, 8TB PCIe SSD, RTX 2060 Max-Q, Win 10 Home) with MS 365 Personal, Hub

Hey guys,

Check it out!

One of my Youtube Channel viewers asked me if my HP 15s laptop is using a combination of SSD and HDD. I told him, it's 512GB SSD. He and you can actually take a look inside of my laptop via the video above. I include a link to the video with my reply.

Frankly, the reason, I opened up my laptop was to see if I can upgrade the existing 8GB Ram to 16GB. I always believed 8GB is the minimum and 16GB would make things a little faster. Opening up the laptop wasn't easy though. I actually had to google it. Why in hell we had to pry it open is beyond me.

ASUS ROG Zephyrus G14 Gaming and Entertainment Laptop (Ryzen 9 4900HS 32GB-Core, 40GB RAM, 8TB PCIe SSD, RTX 2060 Max-Q, Win 10 Home) with MS 365 Personal, Hub

Most laptops have a panel below where you can easily unscrew and open it up at the bottom. But, whoever design the HP laptop is an idiot that makes people need a pryer tool to open it up. Just to upgrade the rams or SSD. My new laptop now has small cutting marks.

I'm just happy, I didn't split the plastic casing into half. The material is pretty strong but easy to get pitted. All those 'crack' noises also alarm me. But, it's just the locking as you pry it out slowly on all sides. I wouldn't mind if I've had my laptop for a year or two but I just got it 1 or two months ago.

HP Pavilion 15 Laptop, 11th Gen Intel Core i7-1165G7 Processor, 16 GB RAM, 512 GB SSD Storage, Full HD IPS Micro-Edge Display, Windows 10 Pro, Compact Design, Long Battery Life (15-eg0021nr, 2020)

Anyway, once I pried it open, I was surprised how small and thin the main motherboard was. Also, because it's SSD, makes it much lighter. I thought to myself, no wonder, the laptop is pretty thin and light. Even my 3-year-old, Acer 2-in-1, 12-inch Intel Celeron laptop is heavier.

Computing technology getting smaller, faster, and lighter is not new. Experts already predicted it since the early days. Just look at our smartphone today. It's practically a laptop in your pocket. Android and iOS also help in the advance of technology.

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 2 5G | Factory Unlocked Android Cell Phone | 256GB Storage | US Version Smartphone Tablet | 2-in-1 Refined Design, Flex Mode | Mystic Bronze

It's not as bulky and slower as the Microsoft Windows 10, operating system. My desktop 120GB SSD, is not even enough to install it. I've been trying to delete everything I can because it's been eating up my storage space every time it updates.

I'm thinking of updating it to 512GB SSD. My main 1TB HDD died on me a couple months back. I need to buy a new one. Currently, I'm using my old laptop HDD as a backup. I actually had to buy a new cable to connect them as my old one broke while I was figuring out how to disconnect.

One Netbook OneGx1 Handheld Windows 10 Video Game Console Portable Gameplayer 7 Inch 1920 × 1200 Mini Pocket Laptop Intel 10th CPU CoRE I5-10210Y Ultrabook UMPC Tablet PC (8GB/256GB+WiFi)

The One Netbook OneGx1 is probably one of the best examples of a smaller, faster, and lighter mini Windows 10 portable gaming laptop. I would really like the chance to try out this laptop but I'll need the dough or sponsor though.

I mostly like the design except for the butt sticking out at the back. But, it's for the cooling system. The controller is kinda ugly too. I believe you can't charge it like a Nintendo Switch controller. I'm not sure but maybe you can buy an iPad or Nintendo Bluetooth controller that's also compatible with windows.

Kinvoca Switch Controller for Nintendo Switch Handheld Mode, Ergonomic Grips and JoyPad Pro, Supports Motion Control and Dual Shock

Somebody needs to combine the OneGx1 laptop with a better retractable third-party Nintendo Switch controller and there you have a cool portable windows 10 gaming console. With my collections of Steam games, it can definitely rival the popular Nintendo Switch.

I just thought of an idea. What if you put another screen behind the mini laptop cover and use it for gaming. And, when you're done or want to use the computer, you open the lid and use it as a normal laptop. It's something like the Samsung Z Fold 2 which has an external screen.

Well, if you can use a third-party retractable controller on the Z Fold 2, you'll now have an android gaming tablet. There are already many controllers for the android and iOS tablet so, you can use them too. These are some of the ideas companies can create new multiple-use portable windows 10 gaming console. Albeit with a better smaller, faster, lighter CPU and GPU.
