SmileBASIC 3ds on Samsung Note 10+ with Citra NDS emulator - works with S PEN!

Nintendo Switch with Neon Blue and Neon Red Joy‑Con - HAC-001(-01)

Hey guys,

Check it out!

I love playing around with SmileBASIC 4 (Nintendo eShop). It's a great software to learn to code on the go. It's available for the Nintendo Switch. You can dock your Switch like a desktop computer and code away. The good thing is that it has mouse & keyboard support.

I didn't really know that there was a Smilebasic NDS (Nintendo eShop) version until much later. I think because it's only released in Japan and Europe or Australia. Although I already have a Nintendo Switch or rather Switch lite version. Sometimes, I felt like it'll be cool if I can play it on my computer.

Yesterday, I decided to look into my collections of NDS Roms to see if I actually downloaded the software before. Nope. As usual, Google is your friend. So, I did a quick search and actually found a website that has the Smilebasic for NDS.

I thought the rom will automatically work with Retroarch. Apparently, you need to download the Citra NDS emulator. You also need to decrypt the software before able to play it. I'm not sure if I can share it, that's why I'm not linking directly. You can easily find more information via Google search.

I tried it out on my computer and was really excited to play an NDS version of smilebasic. The NDS version is actually a little different than the latest SmileBASIC 4. I've noticed it when I was searching around to learn how to code on my Switch lite.

It's a little funny to me that I learned to code on SmileBASIC 4 before on the NDS version. Which is more updated. But, in spite of that, I still managed to get used to the latter version. That's when I thought, wouldn't it be cool if I can play it on the go on my Samsung Note plus?

I did a quick search on the Google play store and found an Android version of the Citra NDS emulator. Download it, find my smilebasic 3ds file on my phone and load it. The software load pretty quickly without any problem. You can imagine how ecstatic I was that it actually works.

I was already wondering if I can use my Note 10+ S Pen with the smilebasic software. It'll be just like playing on my 3DS. If you're thinking of course it'll work, not really. There are some or mostly retro NDS games that don't work with an S Pen. I've tried it. Although, now I'll want to test it again.

Well, I spend the night playing with the smilebasic 3ds and also checking out what the Citra NDS emulator features are. I think it's still in beta mode. You can view the smilebasic horizontally or vertically. You can hide the on-screen controller inlay, resize it or change the layout.

One thing though, unlike SmileBASIC4, you can't use it with a mouse and keyboard. I haven't tried out any other NDS games on it. Can't seem to find my MicroSD card location. I discovered just now that the emulator eats a lot of my resources. My device assistant pop up and advice me to kill it.

I thought that I've closed the program after playing with it. Seems like as long as you don't close it, it'll run and eat up your phone resources without you knowing it. Maybe, that's why the smilebasic software suddenly went blank on me at one time.

I'm still not sure why the smilebasic 3ds won't open in Retroarch. The Citra emulator is available on the PC version but I can't find it on the android version. I also tried using a different NDS emulator but they don't work. Seems like it only works with Citra.

For now, I'm just happy that I can play around with smilebasic for 3ds on my Note 10+. It's also a plus that I can use my S Pen with it. Since I've played around with SmileBASIC4 on my Switch lite, I won't have a problem with the slight differences. If only there's a smilebasic for Android gaming!

New Nintendo 3DS XL - Learn With Pokémon Typing Adventure 2021!?

Battle & Get! Pokemon Typing DS (white keyboard) [Japan Import]

Hey guys,

Check it out!

I love typing games. And, I love the keyboard. I don't know why is that. I remember back in the mid-90s, I got a job as a civil servant after my military service. I used to see my head of department typing documents on his computer without even looking at the screen.

I was pretty amazed and asked him, how long it took him to learn typing. He said, around 10-20 years. I'm like, really? Frankly, I just learned how to use the computer and using the keyboard. I used to two-finger tango when typing. But, I was pretty adamant to improve my typing skills.

That's when I started to check out any PC typing games. During that time, copyright CD was rampant. So, I bought a lot of software 3 for $10. The computer world was booming and everything was new. I used to go to bookshops after work just checking out accessories and the latest software.

Anyway, I saw this "Learn with Pokemon: Typing Adventure" for the NDS and thought, what the heck, I want to try this game out. I still have my NN3DSXL, and the game comes with a Bluetooth keyboard. I'm not sure back then if I have seen this offering before.

I'm glad I didn't decide to sell my 3DS. I actually wanted to sell it and get the latest NN2DSXL. The new one was supposed to be much faster and have better graphics. Well, in the end, I still haven't got it and get the Nintendo Switch instead.

The NDS is actually still a good handheld gaming console. There are so many games for it. Even the older DS games can be played on it. When the Nintendo Switch was announced, I was hoping the old cartridge is compatible with it. But, it wasn't.

I think maybe Nintendo didn't want to kill its DS market, yet. That's why the NDS games are not compatible with the Nintendo Switch. Kinda a waste though. I'll love to play my old games on a new system like the Switch.

Then again, it's always more fun to play the original games on an original system. That's why even though the Pokemon typing game is pretty old (2011) but, it's still fun to play. And, it's actually a new thing for me to play with a physical keyboard. Surprisingly, the keyboard is pretty good!

Nowadays, you can play any game on the Nintendo Switch with a keyboard and mouse. Although, you'll need a converter. So, why aren't there any typing games for the Switch? I'll love a new Pokemon typing game or an RPG typing game.

That will be pretty fun. Game dev can create a game and sell it with a Bluetooth keyboard. Currently, you can also use a cable to connect. So, all we need is a typing game. I'm surprised no game dev have thought of this yet.

A typing game is fun and also a great way to learn typing. Especially, for the kids. The Nintendo Switch is also very popular and already sold around 70+ over million I believe. Why nobody is creating a typing game is beyond me. I guess, in the meantime, I'll just enjoy playing on my 'New' Nintendo 3DS XL.

Hey guys,

I was looking for stickers to paste on my ds lite. I found 2 set of cool stickers from the guitar hero game and guitar grip bundle. Thought I'll paste it on my ds lite. Check out my video!

I already paste a Razer logo on top of the cover. So, decide to use it as the main 'character'. I think, it end up looking like snakes or dragons going after eggs. With stars and fire burning.
