I've been checking the eShop these past few days hoping that I'll be able to download Apex Legends a little earlier. But, as announced, it's finally available on 9th March. I didn't waste any time downloading the Free-to-play version of the game on my Nintendo Switch lite.

I also informed my nephew about it. I've actually never played the game before. My nephew was the one that downloaded the game on my PC and playing it. I wasn't really interested. But, I got really excited when I found out it'll be available for the Switch.

Free-to-play multiplayer shooter games are pretty much all the same. Only the world and the characters are different. That's why I wasn't really interested to play the game on PC. But, if it's available for a portable console like the Nintendo Switch, that's where I'm curious.

Everyone was curious when they first announced games like Skyrim and Doom coming to the Nintendo Switch. How good is it to play on a small handheld? Are the graphics good and the gameplay smooth? Well, now there are more triple-A games coming that I'm actually running out of storage to install!

Talking about storage, at first I saw that you need 30GB to install the game. But, was surprised that it's gone down to only 18GB. Maybe, they managed to trim the game size, somehow. The other day, one commenter laugh at the idea of buying a 512GB MicroSD card for the Nintendo Switch.

I replied that even with 512GB, it's not enough. I guess it depends on the type of gamer you are. If you're like me, like to buy and download a lot of games, even 512GB is not enough. If you're like my nephew who only interested in a few games, maybe 128 or 256GB is more than enough.

Another thing is that I was right when I post on my blog a few weeks ago talking about more free-to-play games coming to the Nintendo Switch. Two games that I'm still waiting for are Call of Duty and Dirt racing. The franchise has yet to announce that it'll be available for the Switch.

I'm not sure what's the reason is but I feel like they're a little snobbish because they think the Nintendo Switch is not worth it. They're not even considering porting the COD Mobile to the switch when every other free-to-play FPS game is already ported.

Well, it's their loss. It's kinda funny they're resisting when other triple-A is already available. I'm glad that Apex Legends finally arrived. Hopefully, more android mobile FTP shooter games will come over as there are actually some that I really like. 

Especially, great for my handheld console the Nintendo Switch lite!

More Free-to-play Games Now Coming to Nintendo Switch?

The other day, I downloaded some new Free-to-play games like 'Vigor' to my Nintendo Switch lite. I haven't played them yet, but one thing I notice is that more of these kinds of games are definitely coming to the Nintendo Switch.

I have mixed feelings about them because they are originally available on mobile devices. If you have read through my blog post, you'll know I don't really like mobile games because they aren't really a full game. The dev is only interested in milking as much money as possible from their players.

Mobile gaming has changed how Dev created their games. It's all about promoting intangible items to boost your ego. The good thing is that you can start playing games for free. But, get ready for ads to promo other games or items to 'enhance' your gaming experience.

If they had their way, some gamers would prefer using their money to have an advantage over other players. Like better armor or weapons. Actually, if in a real war, of course, every military wants the best weapons available, money can buy. Then again, we have seen examples of how technology is not everything. Eh?

Don't get me wrong, I personally like playing Asphalt 9 Legends, which is a free-to-play game. I also like some free-to-play fps shooter games like Call of Duty mobile. I did a video compilation gameplay of some games that I'll like to be ported to the Switch. Go watch it!

I'm not interested in spending my money on stupid items that are for 'sale' or whatever. Although, it's pretty enticing to buy them. The good thing is that they're mostly expensive. I'm not paying up to a freaking USD$100 or more for coins or whatever craps.

One of the reasons I don't mind free-to-play or mobile games coming to the Switch is that now I don't have to worry if I can play it with a physical controller. I used to check out the stupid Google play store and try to guess which games have controller support.

I actually feedback to Google to create a section or tell the game dev to put out information if their games have controller support. It's exasperating to download a game only to found out that it doesn't. So, I deleted them. I'm not wasting my phone storage. As some of these games are pretty large.



Xbox Wireless Controller – Night-Ops Camo Special Edition

I like playing some of the mobile games with my Xbox controller. I actually bought the Night-Ops Camo special edition just for playing with my Samsung Note 10+ phone. It's only recently that you can connect your Xbox controller via Bluetooth. 

The problem is like I said before, not many mobile games have controller support. Even if it's RPG or FPS. Isn't that funny? I hate the feeling of my thumbs when gaming using a touchscreen. Sometimes, in my excitement, I'll miss the control and end up losing or killed.

Another thing that I hate about some of these free-to-play games is that you need an internet connection to play. There was a time during traveling where I couldn't get any connection and I can't play the freaking game. I got frustrated and deleted it. I delete games more than I play them on my mobile.

Anyway, hoping to see more FPS or RPG games coming to the Nintendo Switch. I truly enjoyed being able to play Minecraft Dungeons and Torchlight III which is a full game on my Nintendo Switch lite. With controller support, I don't mind these Free-to-play format game. The more games the merrier. Just don't expect me to pay.

The other day, I saw demo gameplay of this game on Nintendo direct. I wasn't really sure what kind of game it was. But, I thought, I'll check it if it's out. Turn out, it's another free-to-play, multiplayer, multiplatform game. I saw it on eShop and immediately download it. I didn't straightaway play the game though.

I wanted to play the other night but having to sign-in and provide a new password, I decided to play another time. Well, finally, decide to play the game today, and I must say, it's pretty interesting and engaging. I remember there's a similar pc game about mage fighting each other. I didn't get the game but this reminds me of that.

While playing this game, I thought about the game being multiplatform and wondering if the other players are playing on their mobile phone, console, or pc. And, who'll have the better advantage? It's pretty interesting don't you think? Like, most of the time, playing games on a pc with a mouse and keyboard is more precise. Especially, for shooter games. 

Playing this kind of game on mobile with touch control is the worst. That's why you always get complaints about gamepad support on Google play store. Most console players are used to an Xbox or Playstation controller when playing games. But, not surprisingly, you have some gamers buying keyboard and mouse accessories to play console games.

Anyway, Spellbreak is a multiplayer action-spellcasting game where you unleash your inner battlemage. Master elemental magic to fit your playstyle and cast powerful spell combinations to dominate other players across the Hollow Lands. I really like the RPG theme and actually went to see the beautiful vast mountains view.

Have to give credit to the artist. Too bad, it's not a story RPG game. I'll love to just relax and go for an adventure in this strange land fighting monsters and save the damsel in distress. In my gameplay video, I actually wanted to use the waiting time to enjoy the beautiful art and someone had to come and attack me. And, the game hasn't even started yet.

The main power I like and use is fire. It's weird, most of the time, fire is the strongest power to use to attack monsters or in this case, fellow mage. Also, I like how I can use fire to attack a couple of enemies at the same time. The main one would just be able to attack a single person. There's also freeze, earth, lightning, and wind. 

I can't get over how great looking the mage power graphics are for this RPG multiplayer game. Unlike, other multiplayer shooter games, you don't see fire burning or big beautiful explosions. I would say, that's the difference this game is compared to the other free-to-play game available on the Nintendo Switch right now.

Well, that's one more new free-to-play game coming to the Nintendo Switch. Although I prefer a full story-driven RPG game instead of just multiplayer. I guess, it's better than nothing. And, it's something new to play. So, I can't complain about that. The fact that game dev is making games for the Nintendo Switch meant they believe, there's a market for their game.

Is it even a surprise when you hear success story for 'old' free-to-play games like Asphalt 9 Legends having a million + downloads. I laugh at the other game dev that didn't see this coming or not interested in getting their games on the Nintendo Switch platform. There are already 60 million + Switch sold. Like they say, the early bird catches the worms.

Ignore, the success of the Nintendo Switch at your own peril!

Play Albion online Free-to-play RPG on your android phone. If you have a Samsung S10+ like mine and a samsung dex, you can play it on a bigger screen monitor or Tv. If you have a portable monitor, you can even play it on the go!

Samsung really needs to have a lapdock of its own. They're losing money. A lot of people are buying portable monitor just to satisfy their need for mobile computing. It's great if you have the accessories ready at work. But, what about when you're out and about?

I've decided to purchase a cheap 13.3", portable monitor. Hoping, that I'll get it tomorrow. I already have an extra Bluetooth keyboard and mouse ready. I got a monitor that you can power up with a 5v 2a power bank. That will be pretty useful for on the go computing.

I'll be doing an unboxing of the product of course. So, look out for it tomorrow on my youtube channel. Probably, include some quick setup and usage. I'm actually, blogging on my phone right now. I should have used Linux on dex. Firefox browser is better than this stupid mobile version of chrome. By now, we should be able to use a full version of chrome on our phone.

The problem with Firefox browser when on linux on dex is that, watching youtube video are irritating. It's not as smooth as using a chrome browser. While it is easy to set up my extension. I'm pretty much having to juggle between Linux on dex and Samsung on dex.

One thing for sure, you can use your phone as your main computer. If you don't need an all-powerful pc which has the latest fast processor or graphics card, then a good phone is all you need. For work, and for play!

You don't have to dump your pc or laptop straight away. You can always use your phone as your second or third computer. In the day, I will always use my main pc. And, by evening, I'll turn off my pc and play on my phone with either Samsung dex or Linux on dex. Before I sleep, I'll usually be on my iPad.

Most of my youtube videos are taken and edited on my iPad with iMovie. Once, it's finished and uploaded, I'll either switch to my pc or now my phone. It's easier to blog with a keyboard and mouse on a much bigger screen than the iPad. Also, you still can't use a mouse for the iPad.

I'm really getting a hang of using my phone as a pc. Been, using it since the day, I got myself the dex pad. So, the dex pad is really useful to me. I can easily connect my phone to a monitor or tv. Play games, watch youtube and do some bit of research and work!

I can't wait to get my hand on my new portable monitor!
