HP Pavilion laptop Amd RYZEN 7 4700u 16gb 1TB ssd Radeon graphic unboxing

HP 2021 Pavilion Laptop, 15.6" FHD IPS Display, AMD Ryzen 7 4700U (>i7-10710U), 16GB RAM, 1TB SSD, Webcam, B&O Audio, WiFi 6, Bluetooth, Backlit Keyboard, Fingerprint, Numeric Keypad, Win 10 Home

Hey guys,

Check it out!

Well, finally the HP laptop that I recommended to my friend to get arrived. And, he actually ordered the 16GB Ram version. He told me he prefers the 8GB Ram and upgrades it later. But, I told him, it's such a hassle to open the bottom case and it might also void the warranty if any shit happens.

I think he also says that he prefers the 14" screen instead of the 15.6 inches. It's the same kind of thinking of trying to scrimp and save. I've been using the HP 15.6 screen size and I feel it's much better for my bad eyesight. Also, you'll get a full keyboard with a number pad.

HP Pavilion 15 Laptop: AMD Ryzen 7 4700U, 512GB SSD, 16GB DDR4 RAM, 15.6" Full HD IPS Display, Windows 10

  • AMD Ryzen 7 4700U Processor (2.0 GHz base clock, up to 4.1 GHz max boost clock, 8 MB L3 cache, 8 cores)
  • 15.6" diagonal, Full HD (1920 x 1080), IPS, micro-edge, BrightView Display
  • 512GB PCIe NVMe M.2 Solid State Drive
  • 16GB DDR4-3200 SDRAM (2x8 GB), AMD Radeon Graphics
  • Realtek RTL8822CE 802.11a/b/g/n/ac (2x2) Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 5 combo, Windows 10 Home
If your work involved calculations, that number pad will be pretty nifty. One thing is that the laptop version he got doesn't have the fingerprint sensor. Mine has and it's much faster to log in instead of having to type your password.

He will also appreciate the webcam for a video call with his family back at home in India. I like to link my Samsung Note 10+ to my laptop and use WhatsApp for messaging, voice msg/calls, and video calls. Since I'm on my computer all the time, I seldom need to check my phone.

The important thing is that it's within his budget. And, for the price, this is not a bad laptop. Yesterday, I tried transferring pictures and videos from my camera to my laptop and it was pretty smooth. I edited the video and upload it to my youtube channel.

My laptop only has 8GB of ram. It'll be much better with 16GB ram, like my friend's laptop. That's why I insisted that he get the 16GB of ram. Yeah, you might save if you upgrade it later but if you have the dough just pay for it and avoid the hassle later. Unless you're the tinkering type and know what you're doing.

For the moment there, I thought my friend wanted to upgrade the CPU aka the processor. I told him it's an integrated motherboard. It's a laptop, not a desktop. Turn out he was referring to his desktop ram. He wishes to upgrade from 6GB to 8GB ram. Lol.

Just to let you guys know, that not every Indian knows anything about computers. The joke about Indian IT guys is funny but India is pretty big and not everyone has the money to study or even own a computer. My Indian friend works as an electrician but he knows shit about computers.

To be clear, I'm no computer expert myself. I learned through self-learning since the mid-90s. That's when the computer world was booming. I just happened to finish my two years compulsory National Service (NS) in the military and got a job as a civil servant after that.

Lucky for me, I got to learn to use the computer and simply expand my knowledge from there. I even once got a job at an Apple factory. Can't remember which year but I didn't stay long. I was pretty impressed with their system video capabilities back then.

I really miss those fun days. Used to go out with my friends to the computer mall just to look around. That's how we spend our weekend. I haven't been there for a pretty long while since then. I don't even know if the building is still around. Last I heard, they're gonna tear it down to build a damn condo.

Anyway, my friend will pick up his new laptop this weekend. Hope he enjoys it!

How Popular is AMD Ryzen Laptop right now?

Acer Swift 3 Thin & Light Laptop, 14" Full HD IPS, AMD Ryzen 7 4700U Octa-Core with Radeon Graphics, 8GB LPDDR4, 512GB NVMe SSD, Wi-Fi 6, Backlit KB, Fingerprint Reader, Alexa Built-in, SF314-42-R9YN

Hey guys,

Check it out!

My youtube video, doing an unboxing and a little demo of the HP 15s AMD Ryzen 7 with Radeon X Vega 10 graphics is getting a lot of views. Much faster than my usual other videos. And, I'm wondering why is that so.

I didn't buy this laptop just to make a video. I wasn't really looking for a laptop until I saw it on sale. I was actually more interested in the latest Asus Zephyrus G14 laptop. Especially, with the anime led lightings. That is pretty cool.

This is actually part of the reasons, I was interested in getting a laptop again. Not, necessarily a gaming laptop. Also, why I decided to get the Hp 15s, which has almost the same design as the G14. With its nice slick, silver color, keyboard palm rest top cover.

I wasn't sure that it has a backlit keyboard but it did. So, that's a plus. Also, the fingerprint login is actually useful and fast. Love the 15.6-inch FHD screen and also the full keyboard with a number pad. The surprise for me is the speaker. It sounds loud and clear. Great for Spotify and youtube music!

The Asus G14 laptop hoopla is what actually draws me to AMD Ryzen CPU. It has the latest Ryzen 9, which is equivalent, and report say better than the Intel i9. Anyway, I've been using intel CPU desktop and laptop since the 90s. So, a little change in 2020, aye?

I did buy an Acer laptop with AMD Radeon r5 m240 graphics a couple of years back. You can watch video gameplay here. Even then, it got lots of views. So, the interest in the AMD base laptop has always been there. As I've said, I have lost interest in gaming laptop since I sold off my Alienware m14x. Watch my Alienware laptop gameplay playlist here.

HIDevolution ASUS ROG Zephyrus G14 GA401IV, Moonlight White 14" FHD 120Hz, 3.0 GHz Ryzen 9 4900HS, RTX 2060 Max-Q, 16 GB 3200MHz RAM, 1 TB PCIe SSD

The ASUS ROG Zephyrus G14, Ryzen 9 has certainly driven the interest on AMD CPU. Although, I'm not sure about the graphics. My HP 15s Vega 10 graphics don't impress me. As I can't play my DIRT 4 on high. At first, I thought I can only play on ultra-low but after updating everything, now I'm able to play on medium. Even then, I had to lower some settings.

I actually like my HP 15s, 15.6-inch Ryzen 7 laptop. Everything runs pretty smoothly. No hiccups or lags whatsoever. Asus should think of coming out with a 15.6 version of the G14. I guess, they'll call it G15.6? I also like the full backlit keyboard with a number pad. I used to prefer small screen laptops, but after using the HP 15s, I'm loving it!

If you're wondering, why I'm not posting the same HP 15s laptop, that I bought here, it's because I couldn't find it anywhere on Amazon and even the HP main website. It's kinda weird as if, it never exists. Yet, I got it on offer.

So, I did the next best thing, finding something similar to recommend. I would definitely recommend the ASUS ROG G14 with the anime led lights if you have the dough. If you can wait, they might come out with a 15.6-inch version. I'm recommending base on the specs that I read, obviously.

The other Ryzen 7 laptop from other companies isn't that bad either. Almost, the same design as my HPs. AMD is definitely offering something different, better, and cheaper? Some of my youtube video viewers asked me if they should get it or which laptop is better that I'll recommend?

My advice or general rule is to get the highest specs possible that you can get within your budgets. Which can last a couple of years and not regretting it later. The design is mostly up to you. Everyone has their own preferences. An AMD base laptop is offering at a good price right now. So, look out for a bargain deal!

SAMSUNG S10+ Dex Pad - Ubuntu Linux on Dex Beta!

Samsung Galaxy S10 Plus SM-G9750 - International Version - No Warranty in The USA - GSM ONLY, NO CDMA (Ceramic Black, 1TB/12GB)

Hey guys,

Check it out!

Finally, got to install, linux on dex on my Samsung s10+!

This is super-awesome!

Now, I can play with linux, ubuntu anytime and anywhere. I can also quickly return back to Samsung dex, and use android. The best of both worlds on my phone. All, I need are my dex pad and a tv or monitor. Of course, if you have a lapdock, you can do mobile computing on the go!

C'mon, Samsung. We need a good, lapdock that's optimise for use with the samsung phone. We already have a powerful phone as our daily driver, and to be able to turn that into a 'laptop' would totally enhanced the phone usage. Don't you guys think so, too?

Instead, of having to buy or use separate desktop or laptop, why not just have all our data on one device. Most of us, probably, already have both of them. The samsung phone, with samsung dex can be used as a second or third pc. If you're really not into mobile computing, yet.

In time, people would get used to using their phone as their main computer and forget about returning to that old pc collecting dust at the corner. Our phone already cost more than a pc or laptop anyway. It's actually a big saving. Unless, you really need extensive graphics and processing power of course.

If all your computing needs are just some simple video editing, working with words, checking emails and some entertainment, you can already use your phone as mobile computing. Working and moving light are probably high on your priority list.

Right now, the big phone companies should concentrate on making a more powerful phone comparable to a desktop pc. If they can do that, then mobile computing would really explode. As more and more people prefer using their phone for work and play.

Get the Samsung S10+ 1TB for more storage!

Redragon K552-BB Gaming Keyboard and Mouse, Large Mouse Pad, PC Gaming Headset with Microphone Combo 87 Key Mechanical Keyboard with Blue Switches for Windows PC Games-Keyboard Mouse Pad Headset

You should get the dex pad because, it's very useful for connecting your phone to a monitor. It also has a fan to cool your phone battery while charging it at the same time. Even if you're not using it to use samsung dex, you can fast charge your phone.

If you take a lot of photos and videos for work and play. You definitely, need a lot of storage space. Preferably, I'll rather have all my files on my microsd card instead of an online storage. There may be time where you don't have access to an internet service.

Mobile computing is the future!
