Hey guys,
Check it out!
This could be the last time I ride a bike. It's been almost two months and I still can't bend my left knee. Maybe, I'm getting old. It used to heal after over a week or so. But, after I came back from my thailand holiday, it won't heal. I can't even cycle to work anymore.
My last ride was last month. I've wanted to test-ride my new carbon fiber hybrid gravel bike. I also wanted to try out a new cycling route. Before that, it had been over a month since I had cycled. The route back was too far, over 65km.

As I haven't done any cycling for over a month because of my knee problem, I started to strain and cramps. I walked for a while pushing my bike till able to cycle again. I should have tested the bike before attempting the long route.
The seat was too high and my wrist started to feel pain. I already had a problem with my wrists. When I had covid, I had high fevers and it attacked all my joints. It's like it knows I've been having problems with them. Guess, when you're getting old, it all comes back to haunt you.
I've been using oilments, inflammation gel, and knee joint supplements. It works at first. That's how I was able to test-ride my new bike gravel bike. But, I've been struggling to heal my left knee again after that long ride. Was I wrong to overstrain my legs too early?
Maybe, so. Now, I have to bear the consequences. I might have taken my knee problem too lightly. In fact, now, my feet are swollen. I don't even know why. It's not the first time I've had a swollen foot. It's because I've been kicking things when I was angry before.
Well, if you've kicked a wooden chair, you'll know it's gonna get swollen. But, I didn't even do anything. That's why, I'm perplexed. Yesterday, I remembered my late dad had the same swollen foot problem. And, it's because of diabetes.
I'm wondering if I have diabetes or even gout? The old man at work told me I might have gout. He advised me to have a blood test. My friend said maybe it's gout too. I don't know anything about diabetes or gout. The last thing I want to do is see a doctor or a knee specialist.
So much for cycling as a form of low-impact exercise. Now, I can't even bend my left knee anymore. The thing is, I did start to feel pain in both my knees and the strain around it. Though I cycled to work every day, it wasn't that far. I was getting fitter and able to cycle far and up slopes.
To be clear, I already had a problem with my knees even before I started cycling again. I trained in TKD, played soccer, did gym, and joined the military. It was only after I started working that I stopped doing any kind of exercise. I even had a slipped disc.
Anyway, I hope my knee will get better and I can start to ride again. Missing it!
