Installing old monitor as kitchen TV with Android box

I had always wanted to install a TV in my kitchen. It'll be nice to have a sip of your coffee while checking out the latest news. If you're doing the cooking, you won't have to miss watching your favorite show at the same time. Well, that's what my mom been complaining about.

Since, I had an old Acer pc monitor and a low-end Philips, android box. Which I got for free when I bought my tv a couple years back. I decided to re-use them as my kitchen entertainment setup. Oh yeah, I also got an unused monitor bracket. Perfect, for mounting on the wall!

Mounting the bracket was pretty easy. It helps that the monitor isn't that big. I didn't want anything too big anyway. Make sure, you did your measurement and decide beforehand where you want the monitor to be.

You might want to get a monitor with a built-in speaker or get small speakers that you can hide behind it. You don't want to have many wires dangling around. That's part of the reason, I wanted to mount my monitor on the wall.

Mounting the monitor on the wall will save you kitchen space!

Android box, are pretty much all the same. If you like playing android games, you might want to get one with more rams and space. You can also install Kodi and retroarch. You can watch many live tv shows via Kodi.

If you like playing retro games, installing retroarch is better then installing too many different emulation apps. You can also install Netflix and youtube on your android box. They are probably already pre-installed for you.

Android box, are pretty much cheaper than any pc. It also doesn't take too much space. That's why it's perfect for your kitchen setup. If you don't care much for games, it's still just great for checking up with the news or listening to internet radio.
