Why Aren't There Any 2 in 1 Windows 10 Gaming Tablet PC?

Hey guys,

Check it out!

Yes, today, I'm going to talk about the 2 in 1 Windows 10 tablet pc again. Not, specifically my tablet pc. The thing is, I'm practically enjoying using this type of laptop. Being able to use it like any other laptop but, later on at night undocking it from the keyboard and using it as a tablet.

I have an Acer 2 in 1 laptop. But, I can't un-dock it. If I want to use it as a tablet, I can just fold it. The problem is, with the keyboard, it's pretty heavy. I end up not using it in tablet form. That's why I really like my new tablet pc.

I'm wondering why there aren't any Windows 10 gaming tablet pc in the market right now. I'm not a computer or design engineer but hasn't the technology today got slimmer yet? The other day, when I opened my HP AMD Ryzen laptop, I was pretty surprised by how thin the motherboard is.

I also opened up my tablet pc to see if I can upgrade the ram. And, it has the same small design motherboard with integrated ram and ROMs. I guess, the key to making your laptop or tablet slim and light is to integrate everything. Lucky for me, I can upgrade my HP laptop ram.

Apple is already doing it with their M1 Chip iPad. It's becoming so much powerful, that I can use it to take videos, pictures, edit them, put some background music that I created via the Garage Band app and upload it to my youtube channel. All done in a single day.

Back in the days, I can't do that on my old Pentium pc. I usually use the 2MP webcam camera to take videos and edit them with Microsoft free video editor. Sometimes, my pc will hang while loading. The worst part is when you're halfway done and it crashes. No wonder, old gens pc user got rage issues. Lol!

Last year, I followed my niece to buy the Apple watch. I got the chance to check out their latest iPhones and laptop with M1 chips. I still hate the notch but besides that, they actually look good. Even with the old design. I was pretty amazed at the slim and light laptop. Never mind, how smooth everything is.

Microsoft Surface Pro isn't that bad either. I actually thought of buying it. But, I don't have the money to get one right now. That's why I went for the cheap, no brand Windows 10 tablet pc. You can actually play some games on it but not to the level of a real gaming laptop.

Microsoft Surface Pro 7 – 12.3" Touch-Screen - 10th Gen Intel Core i5 - 8GB Memory - 128GB SSD (Latest Model) – Platinum with Black Type Cover

I'm not really a hardcore pc gamer but, if I can go for the highest specs, I'll get the best that's available right now. I like the idea of a gaming tablet pc that you can play the latest games and also for winding down before you go to sleep.

Would be nice to un-dock my gaming tablet pc and use it as a tablet. Just for watching youtube or listening to music. Preferably, below the 10-inch touchscreen size. Being light and slim would make it easy for me to hold in one hand while lying on my back, which I usually do.

I like that it's also a full Windows 10 instead of those Android tablet versions Youtube app where you can't even comment or reply to them. I've set up my on-screen keyboard to be used with just my right thumb. Pretty nifty. Yes, I'm loving my tablet PC, only wishing it has high-end gaming laptop specs.

Powkiddy X18 Mouse & Keyboard Setup - gameplay

GPD XD Plus [Official distributor, Latest HW & Most Stable Update] Foldable Handheld Game Consoles 5" Touchscreen, Android 7.0 Fast Mediatek MT8176 Hexa-core 2.1GHz CPU, 4GB RAM/32GB ROM

Hey guys,

Check it out!

I'm still playing around with my Powkiddy X18, Android portable gaming console. Just now, I decided to try installing Microsoft launcher and it works perfectly. I remember trying it on my Android phone a couple of years back but it was buggy. They must have worked out the kinks or something.

I did try to install Google play services, chrome, and other apps but for some reason, it won't work on the X18. Chrome and Aptoide work at first but now, they're like disowning the X18. Spotify app or the browser version mysteriously won't work on the X18 too. So, I delete or stop using them.

It really sucks if your Android devices don't have Google play store support. Although I can do a clean Rom install of Google OS, it's kinda fun to play around and see what works and what doesn't. It reminds me of the old days when I used to learn about PC in the mid-90s.

Actually, I did try to do a clean Rom install but I can't even get my PC and laptop to link to my X18. So, I'm pretty much stuck with it, for now. Anyway, I'm afraid of bricking it. I've only played with it for a few days. Maybe, I'll try it again later.

I really hope the manufacturer updates the software which includes google play services. It'll be much easier for us all. Instead of having to search around and ask on every forum on the net. The Powkiddy X18 isn't even new. It's already been around for 3 years?

Too bad, even with the minimum specs it's still a good Android gaming device. I actually enjoyed using it to play some Android games that can be played and retro games that I downloaded straight from websites. I already have many retro ROMs but currently don't have any extra MicroSD cards.

The good thing is that I thought, I've bought the 16GB storage version but turns out it's 24GB. So, since I can browse the Internet with the Firefox browser, all I have to do is search for retro ROMs that I actually play and download.

That's what so cool about the X18 and the GPD XD Plus. It's not just a game console with an integrated controller but practically an Android mini laptop. With the Microsoft launcher which actually looks a little nicer than the original, I feel like I'm using a Windows laptop.

There's actually a Windows 10 version, the GPD Win 2, that you can play with your collection of STEAM games but, it's almost triple the price. Might as well get the GPD WIN MAX, which is the updated version with a full keyboard.

Again, it all depends on your budget. The GPD XD Plus is a much cheaper offer. I'll definitely recommend you get it over the Powkiddy X18 because the price is not much different. But, its specs are much better. Though, I'm not saying the X18 isn't any good.

Like I say if the company updates the OS with Google play store, I'll be absolutely happy. For now, I'm just playing around with what I have. It's not as if there are no other Android games or apps that I can't use on it. I'm not really missing anything as I've got my main Samsung Android mobile phone.

Funny, yesterday, I use Whatsapp on the X18 to message my sister. I have an extra sim card, so I use the number on it (there's no sim card slot). I told her that the X18 is like my new phone albeit a little bulky. But, it doesn't have a camera. So, I can't do any video calls.

But, surprisingly I can do voice messages. I didn't know there's a mic on it. I think it's located beside the speaker which is located at the front. You can't see it as it's covered. Also, you can turn the X18 vertically and the screen will rotate. It's much better as the keyboard won't take all the screen spaces.

Would be interesting if there's a phone that design with a folding controller. But, again, the price!
