I've had this product for awhile now, and I'm really happy with it. It comes complete with a mouse, keyboard, power supply, 16gb noob microsd card and even a guide book for beginners.
I think, the products great if you're a beginner into the world of Raspberry pi 3!
The best part is, after the unboxing, you can straight away set it all up with the accessories and load the microsd card into the raspberry pi which already comes with Noob Raspbian. Once, it finished the setup, you can check out the OS.
The user interface (UI) is very simple and you can check out the games or start learning programming. Definitely great for kids too. So, you can even buy it as a gift. The raspberry pi 3 is very flexible and you can even install other linux distros on it.
Includes Raspberry Pi 3 (RPi3) Model B Quad-Core 1.2 GHz 1 GB RAM
Official SD Card, Power Supply, Case, and HDMI Cable
Premium keyboard and optical mouse
Adventures in Raspberry Pi book
CanaKit USB MicroSD Card Reader, and set of heat sinks
A complete starter kit for children and adults alike!
Check out the book, Adventures in Raspberry pi, that's included with the book. Full of demos and sample project you can follow.
The starter kit come complete with a nice slim white colour keyboard which I'm using to type right now. A little tough to type on but for basic use, it'll do. It's not Bluetooth, so, I'm basically sitting legs folded and staring right in front of my 49" TV. :p
It also came with a mouse, power supply and of course with the latest raspberry pi 3. Which is already inside the official case. All the accessories are printed with Raspberry pi logo. For newbie like me, it's cool that the package also came with a book called, "Adventures in Raspberry Pi (second edition)".
When I first insert the sd card, it kinda hang on me. I was wondering, if I had inserted the card wrongly. But, I went to https://www.raspberrypi.org/ website and download the Raspbian linux os. Read up on their help section and just copy and paste the downloaded files version to the sd card.
Then, I inserted back the sd card to the Raspberry pi and on the power. Voila!
It immediately start installing and the rest is history. The Raspbian OS, is really simple and nice. Actually, it's not the first time that I'm using linux. I have downloaded and install most version of linux before and played around with it. Linux is pretty interesting to play with.
I'm planning to use the Raspberry pi as an entertainment setup for my Philip TV as, the android box that came with it suxx. Now, I can watch youtube by using Raspberry Pi instead of my xbox one. And, also use it to surf the net and maybe some light work on it.
The raspberry pi 3 being small and light which also consume less power is an advantage for using with your Tv entertainment setup. There're already some cool simple games that you can play on it. But, I might want to install some retro games on it later on.
You can also find and download lots of apps, software and linux games totally Free. Since, linux been around a long time, there are some games like tux racer, text rpg or clone games like pacman and galaga!
In all, I'm pretty happy with this package. Easy to setup and ready to go!
If you're new to Raspberry pi or linux and also interested in learning programming then this package is for you.
