I've been into retro games lately. All thanks to Raspberry pi 3!

You might ask why?

Well, back in the days, playing retro games was really hard. Especially, if you want to play it on your pc. I've tried to install some of the earlier emulators and it all seems complicated and some didn't even work!

I've heard in the news about raspberry pi before but, wasn't really into it back then. But, when I saw that you can play retro games on it, I was immediately hooked. So, I did my researched and finally got myself a raspberry pi 3 computer kit.




Kano Computer Kit – A Computer Anyone Can Make

I actually wanted to get the Kano Computer kit because I wanted to test out the Kano OS. I instead, installed Kano OS and Recalbox on two separate microSD cards. So now, I can swap between the two whenever I want.

The other day, I decided to get myself a DIY raspberry pi 3 tablet kit and installed Kano OS on it. Now, I can use Kano on my tablet and play retro games on my Tv with another dedicated raspberry pi 3. Since you can also install Kodi on it, it's become a pretty cool multimedia device too!

Kano OS is great if you're interested to learn the basics of computers and programming. It's built for children to encourage them to learn and play at the same time. I was always interested in computers since my first encounter at a military show back in the 80s.

I got to learn to use the computer at work years later in the early 90s. I got myself one and played around with it. I tried to learn everything I could about computers and software. I even worked in an Apple computer factory once. I and my colleague were really impressed by the mac video capabilities back then.

Anyway, those were the early days. It was really fun and also frustrating at times. With time, it gets better and easier. That's why I like the raspberry pi. I like computers, and I like learning about them. I encourage parents to let their kids learn about them. We need more people in tech!

It's kinda funny, but I installed Retroarch before but didn't really understand how it works. I only learned after I've played around with Recalbox and raspberry pi. You learn more by practical than just reading about it.

It's really fun to be able to play all the games you used to play or didn't get to play when you were a kid. Get a raspberry pi 3, install Kano Os and play around with it. If you're into retro games, then download retropie or Recalbox. Definitely worth it!
