Nintendo Switch Joycon Joystick Replacement Parts

Joycon Joystick Replacement, (4 Pack) Switch Analog Stick Parts for Nintendo Switch Joy Con, Controller Repair Kit Include 4 Thumb 3D Sticks,2 Metal Buckles,2 Screwdriver, Pry Tools,6 Thumbstick Grips

Hey guys,

Check it out!

My youtube video showing how you can clean the Nintendo Switch Joycon is pretty popular and have a lot of views. Obviously, because the product itself has a common drifting problem. When I first heard of the news, I wasn't sure myself because I didn't have that problem, at first.

I thought to myself, maybe they had a defective product. After almost 2 years, I began to encounter problems while playing some games. I thought maybe because of my external controller, messing things up. It wasn't that bad at first though.

One night, I docked my Nintendo Switch cause I wanted to watch some youtube on my big screen Tv. But, I couldn't control the menu as it kept drifting all the way to the right. I got fed up and just off the system and went to sleep.

I was ready to tear the controller apart and check it when I didn't even have the tools or parts to repair. I had actually watched some videos on how to repair the drifting before. I remembered I had a WD-40 and thought, I'll try it. Lo and behold, it works!

To be clear, I only had the normal WD-40 type, so I wasn't really sure if it'll work. I also didn't spray the whole can on the joy-con. I sprayed some on a piece of cloth and wipe the side of the inner joy-con as much as I can. If you have the cotton stick would have been much easier.

To be safe, you can also get the WD-40, contact cleaner version for electronic parts. Some might argue that the WD-40 is not safe or might make more dirt and dust stuck to it. But, if that so, then mechanics or other industries won't be using it.

In any case, like I said, I had the WD-40, I tried it and it works. That's all that matters to me, for now. And, some of my viewers that tried had positive results. Although, one or two still had the same problem. They might have not done a good job on it.

Another way is, of course, to take it all apart to clean it or replace the joystick itself. There are many videos on youtube. So check them out before you do it. Make sure you have all the tools and parts before you take the plunge.

Oh, if you're thinking of replacing your joystick, might as well you do a shell case replacement too. I'm actually thinking of doing my Nintendo Switch lite replacement shell case. But, I'm not really sure if I want to do it. Especially, when my Switch lite is the special Zacian & Zamazenta edition.

Also, it's not easy to take the whole thing apart and after watching the videos on it, I'm like, that's a whole lot of work just to replace a case. You also need to clean up and replace the thermal paste. You might have to do it one day. Who knows, if you're good at it, you can provide your own service.

I heard there will be a new Nintendo Switch version in the works. But, I'm not really sure if Nintendo is going to upgrade their product anytime soon. They already had their 2nd unit upgrade with a 'longer' battery life. With the new Xbox Series and Playstation 5 coming out, who knows, Nintendo might spring a surprise new console?

Replacing Nintendo Switch Joy-con Analog Stick Drifting as fast as possible

Joycon Joystick Replacement, Nintendo Switch Joy-Con Grip Accessories, 3D Replacement Joystick,(24Pcs) -Include 2 Pack Switch Analog Thumb Stick, Tri-Wing, Cross Screwdriver, Pry Tools,4 Thumbstick Caps

Hey guys,

Check it out!

You have 3 choices to solve your Nintendo Switch, Joy-con bad drifting. One is to just buy a new Joy-con. 2nd, you can do like what I did, use a WD-40 to clean it. Watch the video here. 3rd, if you're feeling adventurous, open it up to change the analog-stick. If you're thinking of taking the 3rd choice, might as well you change to a new housing shell too.

The first choice is pretty expensive. But, hey. If you got the money and not interested in cleaning or taking the joy-con apart. The 2nd choice is easy and cheap. Just get an electrical cleaning lubricant and clean it as much as possible. Do this constantly, and hopefully, you'll solve the drifting. The 3rd solution is the hardest but if you're already thinking of a DIY. You definitely need the tools.

Recently, Nintendo finally issued an apology for the Joy-con drifting problem. At first, I was hoping it won't happen to mine. But, I think it was almost after two years that it slowly started to drift. I didn't notice it at first. I was actually still in denial. Until it got worse!

One night, I wanted to watch youtube on my Tv but the controller kept drifting. I got fed-up, turn the Nintendo Switch off, and swore, I'll tear it apart to try and 'repair' it the next morning. Well, I search around on youtube and decide to try cleaning it with my WD-40

I already have a WD-40 which I used for the usual stuff. It's mainly used to loosen up rusty parts. I remembered I had it so I thought, maybe I'll try that. Obviously, I'm not sure if this gonna work and if it's suitable for electronic devices.

I'm not going to spray all over the analog stick and make it worse. So, I spray on a cloth and use some sharp stick to poke at every corner of the analog-stick. There was definitely dirt and even a bit of rust at the side of the joy-con. I cleaned as much as I possibly can.

I'm only using a bit of the WD-40. After I'm satisfied, I hooked it up the Nintendo Switch and test it out. It actually works! My joy-con stop drifting and it certainly felt like new. I tried playing some games and the drift is definitely gone.

One thing to take note of is that some advice to use a lubricant for electrical components. Also, it's better to drain out your joy-con battery first before doing the cleaning. I actually didn't care to follow all that. I'm always a lazy and gung-ho type. Meaning? I often jump into shit without thinking about the repercussions. Lol.

Anyway, it works for me. It's advisable to follow their advice just to be safe. I've actually sold my Nintendo Switch and got the Switch lite. Which is much suitable for me because I seldom dock it to the Tv. I also find it much more portable and definitely for those who prefer handheld gaming.

If ever have the drifting problem, I'll now know what to do. If cleaning the analog stick doesn't work, I'll like to try to open up the switch lite and change it. I'll definitely also want to try to change the housing shell too. Which is much more difficult as there are many screws and cable you need to disconnect. Definitely, not for the faint-hearted.

If you want to do a switch lite housing shell replacement or change the analog stick. It's definitely much more a hassle than just the Nintendo switch joy-con. I'm not even sure if I want to do it. Unless someone gave me one for free. I'll even willing to try to hack it.

Anyway, this a great skill to have. And, if you're good at it (with much practice) you can even offer this service. Not everyone is into dabbling with their gaming devices. And, you can even see all the interesting parts inside.
