My Samsung S10+ A quick look
Samsung Galaxy S10+ Plus 128GB+8GB RAM SM-G975F/DS Dual Sim 6.4" LTE Factory Unlocked Smartphone International Model No-Warranty (Prism White)
Hey guys,
Check it out!
I decided to make a quick look video of my new Samsung S10+, prism white!
I simply, love this phone!
The existing wallpaper are so beautiful, I haven't even changed it. I'm also still using the free silicon case and screen protector that comes with it. I might changed both of them later on, but, for now, they're good enough.
The wireless charger pad duo and Samsung galaxy buds are the two free gifts that I got for making an early pre-order. It was actually a last minute decision to make the purchase, a day before the offering date expired. Even then, because of low stock, I had to wait a week later before receiving the products.
A wait that was worthwhile. I was told that the delivery would be around 6-9pm. Glad, that the guy called and told me he would reach around 4:30pm earlier. Boy, was I excited. I did an unboxing video and you can watch it here. That was almost 2 weeks ago!
So, I've got the phone for awhile now. And, I've customised it to my preferences. I've kept the apps to a minimum on the main, home screen. I didn't like the Apps edge at first but, decided to use it to put important apps that I used often for easy access.
I don't like to have to swipe to the left to access other apps. Since, I can already swipe upwards to do it. If I swipe the screen towards the right, all the bixby's latest news and updates will appear. I like to keep it simple and clean.
If you notice, my phone are in full screen mode and there's no navigation buttons. You can make it disappear and just use a small swiping gestures to go back to the home screen or back a step. You can access all opened apps by swiping up from the left corner. So much cooler instead of pressing the on-screen buttons.
For security, I used all three methods that are available. Fingerprints, Face recognitions and pin number. If one doesn't work, I would use the other methods. The face recognitions are fast. So fast, I'm wondering if it's actually working right?
Most of the time though, I'm so used to putting my thumbs on the screen. Fingerprints, security would have one or two hiccups. But, it's a given. Once awhile, I do have to key in my pin number. Not really a deal breaker. It's fun to use either anyway.
There are so many settings that you can customised to your own preferences and usage. My most important setup is to make sure that the battery would last me a day. I don't want to be in a panic mode rushing home to charge the phone.
After two weeks, of using the phone as a daily driver, you'll get used to it and the battery would not be a problem anymore. My only diss is that, there are not many games that are console level to play. I don't like half-f*ck games that you need to pay to play or using a touch screen.
Now, with android 9, you can pair your xbox one s controller to the phone. But, there aren't many games that take advantage of that. Even, Fifa soccer, F1 codemasters mobile racing and multiplayer shooter games doesn't have that support. That, really sucks!
I do hope, game developers today, will take that into consideration when developing their games. I love my xbox controller and I prefer to play games with it. Yeah, I know, most people don't carry their controller around. And, even then, battery doesn't last that long. But, still...
Nowadays, with steam link, you can play your favorite pc games on your mobile phone. Just download the app on your phone and link it to your steam account. Set up your controller and other requirements and you're good to go. Wish, you can play it on the go though.
For now, the only way to play games on the go, are with the nintendo switch. Some of the games, doesn't need internet access. That's better then to play mobile games that requires you to log in to your wifi or data. Part, of the reason why I hate modern mobile games.
Anyway, I hope, with the advance of mobile tech, maybe gaming on the phone won't be such a hassle anymore. Google stadia anyone?
