I downloaded the game "Black Mesa" @ http://release.blackmesasource.com/
It's free and a classic of a game. I remember checking this game out in the 90s i think. Anyway, it's available now for download from their main website or coming soon to steam.com. Check 'em out!
I tried playing it on my alienware m14x r1 and it's pretty smooth. For an old game, it's supposed to be smooth but you can play around with the video settings as usual. I have to admit, I haven't played half-life for awhile and stumble around a bit on this video. LoL.
