I was surprised and curious the first time I saw Emily Armstrong walk on the stage. I'm like, is that a woman? When she started singing, I was like, okay. It's when the screaming part of the song I finally realized that Linkin Park is back, babbbaayy!!
She sounds like Chester Bennington. Right now, everyone is comparing her with Chester. We shouldn't. In her own right, she's a good singer. Definitely, she's not Chester and she's not with Linkin Park just to replace him. The band accepts her as a new singer to front the band.
The band didn't think they'd be back together playing on stage with a new singer. It took them 7 years to reach this stage. No pun intended. It was a slow progress. But, the wait is all worth it. We get to see the band back together with a new female singer, no less.
As a YouTuber and with their new #shorts initiatives, I've been using the Linkin Park song as background music for some of my videos. I didn't know they got back together until the announcement on YouTube. So, I was curious.
I was damn emotional at the screaming parts of the song. Tears were actually rolling down my cheeks. Maybe, I'm getting older. Maybe, it's because of the thought of Chester. I'm sure everyone thinks of Chester every time we hear Linkin Park songs.
Chester would have been proud of Emily and the band moving on without him. I saw Mike Shinoda with that big smile on his face. I feel like it's kinda of a closure. A healing of their loss and their fans. Something new to look forward to.
I like Mike Shinoda and I bought some of his songs. I think, without Mike, there wouldn't be Linkin Park. I'm definitely going to buy their new album. It's a long 7 years awaiting. Their latest music video for the song Emptiness Machine is super cool!
It's like a comeback video. You see them all doing their own things and suddenly all being pulled together to play again in the band. If you didn't realize it, the woman in the video is their new singer. The moment she starts singing you're like, whhaaaaaat? Lol
I can't wait for the new album to come out!
