My Razer Phone - FAIL!?

Razer Phone-120 Hz Ultra Motion Display-65GB Memory-8GB RAM-Dual Camera-Dual Front-Facing Speakers

Hey guys,

Check it out!

I've sold my trusty old iphone 7 + and got myself the Razer Phone Chinese New Year (CNY) special edition. I didn't like the latest iPhone 8 or iPhone X (xpensive?) design. Although, they are more powerful then my iphone 7.

It's also been some time, since, I've bought an android phone. That's why I decided to go with Razer. Razer are having discounts offer and I got myself the tempered glass screen protector for free and the hammerhead earpiece for half the price. Awesome deals!

Now, the horror report. After, I did my unboxing, I put my microsd and sim card to the mini tray which is provided for you on the phone. I then, switched on the phone. It all seems well and I followed the ritual setup. But, it all began to seem meddlesome, cumbersome and slow for me.

I even had to restart the phone couple of time, because I didn't know which one to choose. Why should I signed in to Google or Razer. Can't it wait until I'm into the system?

I was already feeling a little frustrated and agitated with the procedure. It seems to be installing stuff without asking me or already pre-installing games. Maybe, they thought, I'll want to immediately try out their new booster system. NOT!

After finally, finishing on the setting up, I decided to test out the apps. Lo and behold, it all doesn't work. It keep giving me the 'not responding' crap, again and again. Even the camera doesn't want to turn on. I had to force close it and try opening the app couple of time. By this time, I was already missing my iphone 7+!

Next, went to the Play Store and even the play store app gave me the 'not responding' notification. Bleh. It took me couple of hours to download all the usual social media apps that I've been using on my iphone. Yes! Hours!!

I've always dislike android. People, been telling me, they have improved the software. But, this just proved, nothing have changed. At the same time, I'm not really sure if it's the OS or Razer phone that's causing the problem. The negativity of the android software is really pulling it down.

The only other mobile phone OS that I like beside iOS are the Blackberry OS 10. Which, I really loved, when I had the q10. I'm really thinking of returning the Razer phone. But, I'm lazy and I'm hoping it might just be the software. Most people, seem to give it grave reviews.

After making the above video, I decided to reset the phone. I'm thinking, somewhere I might have f-up the setup and updating. This time, it seems a little easier and faster. Although, the Google play store are still doing some 'completing setup' crap.

I tried testing out again the pre-installed camera app and yes, it still didn't want to open up and just froze. Stupid phone. I might have to use a different app that actually works. I tried re-downloading whatsapp and the playstore gave me the 'not responding' notification yet again. Ahhh!!

I'll have to find a work around all these problem and try make this phone work like my iphone 7+. Not sure, how long before I give up on it. Granted, this is Razer first foray into the mobile world. And just like the first iphone, there are kinks that they would have to work at.

If you're thinking of getting the Razer phone, just be aware about the problem I've been having with the phone. It might be the phone that I've got or that android OS still suckz. Anyway, I'll be looking out for the latest iPhone iteration. Heard, that there'll be two new versions in 2018!

For the moment, I'm stuck with Razer phone and android. Bleh :p

*Update: Every pre-installed apps seem to be working fine after I reset it. Still testing out!

[HD] Steve Jobs - iPhone Introduction in 2007 (Complete)

Hey guys,

I'm just reminiscing Steve jobs presentation of the first iPhone. The day, I realized, Steve Jobs is the best marketing genius ever there is. He got an eye for tech and connecting the dots. He makes the iPhone a sexy and popular product. And, left a legacy for the world to remember. I was so excited about the iPhone as if, it's the first ever phone created on earth!

He's gone and frankly, he left a void that would never be filled again. His company still continue to thrives and incrementally improve on their products. That seems to be theirs and other company motto. I kinda understand and lets face it, why change the whole product designs and restart all over again, every 6 month?

For sure, it's not the first phone that i ever bought. I still remember my first Nokia. Then, I bought a couple of popular Sony Ericsson phone. Bought, a Treo and Blackberry of course. Beside the iPhone, I really loved the Treos and Blackberry phone. I like the phone form factor, especially the keyboard and the smart UI capabilities. But, I still came back to the iPhone in the end.

I didn't get every initiatory of the iPhone though. I bought the iPhone 3G because, that's the phone that finally came to my country. And, I even opened a second account on another network just for the sake of buying it. Later on, I sold it and got myself a Blackberry bold. I didn't get the iPhone 4 and iPhone 5 version. But, then I got myself an iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 +.

Finally, now, I got myself the iPhone 7+ 125gb gold version. It's becoming my daily driver and yes, I did envy at Samsung latest phones. I did use a Samsung S3 phone before and didn't really like the android OS which kinda crash on me a lot. The most important factor that makes me love my iPhone is the iOS. It was smart of Steve Jobs to use OS X for it.

To be clear, before the iPhone, the other only Apple product I had was the iPod. I still got it today, inside my drawer. I didn't buy a mac for obvious reason of being too expensive. It's still too damn expensive today. Most of the time, for work and play, I only use the PC. Which are sometime more powerful and cheaper.

The only product, I'm willing to pay are for the iPhone with contract (subsidies). Right now, everyone excited for the coming of iPhone 8. Although, I'm sure, everyone already tired of the form factor. I'm pretty sure, judging by all the rumour, Apple wont change much. I've already downloaded the iOS 11 beta version and it's not something to really shout about.

Yeah, they've upgraded a few features but like I've said, there's nothing much to be excited about. A few weird stuff happened like after swiping away all the opened apps, I couldn't get back to the main page. And, I'm not sure why the title text seems to be too big. A lot of added stuff, which I don't really need. You can go here to download iOS 11: https://beta.apple.com/sp/betaprogram/

What I'm excited about for the upcoming iPhone 8 is the camera and what you can do with it. The camera and capabilities like slow motion are already available now for the iPhone 7. And, also I loved the free iMovie editing software. Wish, they added more creative themes. It also, seldom, if ever hang up on me. A pretty robust phone for work and play.

I might wait until I can re-contract to get the iPhone 8 or 8s by then. My iPhone 7+ are already capable enough for my daily routines of checking emails, whatsapp-ing, surfing the net and watching youtube. Good enough, to take video recording and editing to upload on Youtube. It's really like a small and compact macbook!

That's all for today and hope you enjoy watching again Steve Jobs first iPhone presentation. Thanks to Youtube and the uploader of this video. Enjoy!

Creep by Radiohead - cover by me

Postmodern Jukebox - Creep - Sheet Music (Digital Download)

Yo guys,

I know, my blog supposed to be about Games & Tech. But, I also like to sing. Not, that I'm any good. But, just for the fun of it. One of my favorite song is Creep by Radiohead. Been listening to it since the 80s or was it the 90s?

I played the backup guitar karaoke on YouTube and sing, record using my iPhone 7+ . lol. I don't use a mic as I don't have one. Since, I recorded it on my iPhone, I just export it via iMovie. Edit some pictures I had on my iPhone. Voila!

Most of my unboxing videos and gameplay are recorded using my iPhone. I don't have a dedicated camera. I might be looking for one in the future. I'll do my research on what works best. Anyway, for now, my iPhone is the best solution for my video recording and editing.

I think, when I was using iPhone 6 and 6+, iMovie used to hangup on me. And, I'll have to re-do again editing my videos. It was exasperating. Now, even my iPhone 7+ do hangup too when working on some videos. But, at least, I didn't have to re-do as, I just normally closed the apps and re-start.

iPhone 7+ is a good phone. I have been using it for almost a year and a half and seldom, or almost never give me any problem. I hope the iPhone 8 will be better. And, I'm also hoping they'll include iMovie with more themes and special effects for it.

I think, because of the better camera on iPhone, a lot of people are already used to using their iPhone for taking pictures and video recording. Remember, how Samsung had a camera phone? That was a cool camera phone but, I think because of the design and being heavy doesn't help.

The iPhone have a good design and also have improved on their camera. You carry and use it everyday. It got a good user interface and you can use it for multimedia. In the old days, I used to see only one or two person watching videos on the bus. Nowadays, they're everywhere!

I think, the iPhone are the one that make people addicted to their phone. When it first came out, in the U.S. the rest of us on the other part of earth had to wait. But, once it came, everyone in my country seems to be using it. Even the aunts had one. It used to be unique, now it's not.

Steve Jobs have really left a mark for Apple and the rest of the world. The iPhone will be his legacy.

Check out the Creep music sheet if you're interested to learn how to play the song.
